chapter 17

Elena was going to call Ariel when she stopped at the doorway to her daughter's slightly open room. Seeing something was about to happen between Grey and Ariel and by the look they had on their faces, she knew exactly what was about to happen. She quickly contacted her husband through the "Angel's whisper".

She expected only her husband to come, not the whole family.

"Shh, let's not disturb them," Elena said in a mutter as they watched Ariel and Grey.

Elena remembered the time she connected her bond with Raguel. Raphael was the only one present on that day. She smiled at the memory and held her husband's hands as they watched them.

Ariel moved closer to Grey, smiling wide. Ariel and Grey were not aware of their family standing outside the door. They had centered their attention on themselves and the outside world did not seem to exist.

Grey stretched his arm forth and Ariel placed her hand in his. They both gasped at the sturdy feelings and emotions that hit them at the same time.

Grey held Ariel's hand tighter but Ariel was not feeling satisfied. She moved nearer and hugged Grey tightly which made them sighed in contentment. Ariel pushed their chest together and Grey held onto her tightly and buried his nostril in her neck, inhaling deeply.

She smelled heavenly to him, and her scent was very comforting to him too.

They both pulled back a little and they could also feel the love they had for each other. Grey leaned in to kiss Ariel, which made Ariel lean more. But Grey abruptly stopped when his eyes met the entire family, who was looking at them. Ariel, who was waiting for Grey to seal their lips mutually, wondered why he stopped until she followed his gaze to the door and saw her family staring at them.

They each straightened up, leaving little space between them. They were not comfortable kissing in the presence of their household members yet, particularly Grey.

Ariel was aware her mother and father did not care who watched them while they kissed, and Ariel hoped she would one day be comfortable to do it with Grey.

Ariel noticed the warm smile her Dad, Mom, and her family had on their faces. It made her smile widely.

Anna moved ahead and hugged her son tightly. "I'm so proud of you son," she whispered.

She knew her son had come a long way from hating Angels to have a soulmate who was an Angel, and had ultimately accepted his fate. She was so thrilled that words could describe how delighted she felt. She was certain her son would have the eternal love of a soulmate which he deserved.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she pulled back a little and kissed her son on his forehead.

"I love you, son," she whispered again.

"I love you too, Mom," Grey murmured as he wiped the tears from his mother's eyes.

Anna held her son tightly after she heard him say he loved her. She had never doubted her son's love for her but hearing him say it today made her extremely happy.

Ariel, who was wrapped in a large hug by her parents, watched Grey with a smile.

She later separated from her mother and father and stood close to Grey.

"I'm so happy for you guys," Samael said with a smile as he hugged his granddaughter and patted Grey on the back.

Samael knew that Grey was not trusting of Angels now, but he knew Grey would learn to trust them someday.

"Alright people, let's head downstairs," Elena said as she led the way out of the room, leaving Grey and Ariel standing inside.

Grey took Ariel's hand and played with her fingers. "I can't believe it has finally happened," he said softly.

"Me too," Ariel seconded him.

She looked on as Grey linked their fingers together, which made her smile.

"I feel so different. It feels like I certainly know you better than I know myself," Grey muttered. "I never wanted a soulmate before because I thought it makes a person weak but right now I know it's not true because I feel so strong, now that I have connected the bond with you," Grey said, looking deeply at Ariel as he explained.

"I have always desired a soulmate for a long time. Seeing my mother and father so in love made me crave for a soulmate. I knew at the time I met you that you were not what I dreamt about. However, you are like the star in my sky, the one that lightens up my world. I just started living now that you are with me, now that you are mine."

"Yours always," Grey murmured, pulling Ariel again into a hug.

They both hugged for a moment before they separated.

"Let's go downstairs," Ariel said, holding out her hand for Grey, which he gladly took as they made their way out of their bedroom.

Ariel saw her Mom and Anna discussing something excitedly. She had no doubt they were talking about what was happening in her room. Anna raised her head and her gaze met Ariel's. She gave Ariel a big smile before she continued her conversation with Elena.

Grey took a seat on the sofa and Ariel settled next to him. Ariel looked up and noticed her Uncle absentmindedly watching the TV.

"I will be back," she said softly to Grey as she stood up and went to meet her Uncle.

Michael looked up when Ariel sat down next to him.

"Hey," he murmured

"Are you all alright?" Ariel queried softly.

"Yes," Michael said quickly, causing Ariel to eye him suspiciously.

"Don't look at me like that," Michael muttered.

"Then don't lie to me," Ariel retorted.

Michael shook his head. "You are honestly like your father," He pointed out.

Ariel smiled softly. "So, what's wrong?" she asked

But instead of answering Ariel's question, he asked his own question.
"So, you have connected your bond with Grey?" Michael asked.

He was the only one not present when Ariel and Grey connected their bond.

Ariel knew what her Uncle was doing. He constantly avoided questions about himself. She usually wondered what was bothering him.

Ariel nodded her head at Michael's question, and she smiled widely when she remembered she just connected the bond a few minutes ago.

"I'm happy for you," Michael stated.

Ariel smiled at her Uncle. "One day you will find yours," she said.

"I will never get to have one," Michael whispered softly.

"What did you say?" Ariel asked.

Michael did not even realize Ariel had heard him. "Nothing. Just forget I said anything," Michael spoke quickly.

Ariel wanted to argue with her Uncle but decided against it. She wondered what his statement meant.

"Someone wants your attention," Michael mentioned with a tiny smile.

Ariel looked up to see Grey gazing at her and she smiled at him.

"You should go to him," Michael added.

"But..."

"No. Just go to him. I promise I'm fine," he said as he forced a smile to his lips.

Ariel nodded. She did not argue much because she missed Grey. Even though he was seated a few meters away from her, she wished to hold him.

Ariel got up and made her way to Grey. As soon as she sat down, Grey at once took her hand in his and Ariel rested her head on his shoulder.

Michael, on the other hand, sighed softly and rested his back on the couch. He closed his eyes for a quick second before he stood up from the couch. He was heading closer to the door when he met Raguel's eyes. He was aware his friend was worried about him.

He gave Raguel a small smile before he left the house.

He stood outside the door, staring at nothing in specific, until he heard the front door click open. He had expected Raguel to come out but it was Anna who came out instead.

"Hey," Anna said softly.

"Hey," Michael replied,

He had never spoken to Anna before, so he did not know what to say to her. He remained quiet and waited for Anna to start the discussion.

"I know what you are going through," Anna said softly.

Michael snapped his head in her direction. "What?" Michael shouted, giving Anna a confused frown.

"It's just a matter of time, Michael. It will get better." With that, Anna made her way to the door. She turned back and smiled at Michael. "It will get better," she added as she entered the house.

Michael was looking very confused. "What does she mean by that?" he whispered. "Could it be that... No, it's not possible," he mumbled. "I know something is outstanding about her but how can she understand what I'm going through," Michael murmured. He flashed his wings and vanished.

Grey and Ariel, however, still had their arms around each other as they watched TV.

He couldn't believe he had accepted his bond and he had an Angel in his arms. He shook his head. Fate constantly has a way of changing things, he mused.

A few weeks ago, he had not even thought of sitting with an Angel or being in a house full of Angels.

Ariel averted her eyes from the TV and looked at Grey, who was gazing at her.

Grey's eyes went at her lips before it settled on her face. He was aware she wanted to kiss and he too desired it badly.

Grey ignored the place he was at and leaned down to kiss Ariel. However, as usual, they were disturbed.

"Ariel," Elena called, causing her to turn her face at the last moment. Grey's lips had almost met hers but the kiss landed on her cheek instead.

Ariel turned her head to look at Grey, who was smiling at her. "I can not believe what just happened," Ariel muttered, faking annoyance. "That kiss was met for my lips," she said, pouting.

Grey shrugged with a smile. "You missed it," he said, grinning widely.

Ariel shook her head. "I can't believe this," she said as she stood up and went to meet her Mom in the kitchen.

She helped set the dining table and the entire family ate in silence. After that, Grey dragged Ariel to her room and closed the door behind them. He quickly pulled Ariel close to him.

"Have been ready to do this," Grey said softly as he peered at Ariel's lips.

Ariel parted her lips in anticipation.

A kiss was long overdue for a bond as strong as theirs.

Grey wasted no time as he connected his lips with Ariel's. He kissed her softly at first. The kiss was nothing any of them had ever experienced before.

Grey wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her softly. He removed his lips from hers but he wasn't done yet.

Ariel felt Grey's lips on her neck. She wrapped her hands tightly around Grey's neck as he placed subtle kisses on her neck.

She felt a burning sensation on her neck as a shiver ran down her spine.

They both had only one desire, one wish, and they knew it was only a matter of time before it would happen.

They have finally connected their bond and sealed it with a kiss.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
