~10. I have a chat with my mom
Annabeth
I went back to my cabin and plopped down on my bed. Lena had been gone for hours. Actually, maybe just one hour or so.
I opened my laptop, the one Daedalus had given me, and continued my work. I was already behind on the work I had to do to continue the restructure of Olympus, with the giant war, and Olympus closing up, I never had time to finish.
Also, it helped keep my mind off wondering how Lena was doing. I had been right to think Athena was Lena's godly parent. But I couldn't help but wonder why Athena had to have a long chat with Lena. Maybe because of the demigod/character thing?
I heard a knock on the door of my cabin. I didn't feel like getting up to go open it. "It's open."
The door opened, and I saw Lena standing there, a grim expression on her face.
Earlier...
Lena
I got up and followed the goddess Athena into the woods. My mind raced with a bunch of questions. Why is she calling me? What does she want to say to me? And most of all, is she my godly parent.
She led me to a clearing in the middle of the woods.
"Soo, umm," I started. But she cut me off.
"Do you know why I came here?" She asked.
"Umm no, not really," I answered. In my mind I was thinking, just get to the point! I don't wanna stand here all day! But that would probably not be a smart thing to say to a goddess.
"You are probably aware of the fact you are a demigod, but also a character. You also probably think there has never been a character that is a demigod."
"Uh yeah, basically." I seriously just wanted her to get to the point, which surprised me because I wasn't the impatient type.
"Well, there has been other demigods that were characters before you."
"Wait, what? But Chiron said he hasn't even ever heard of EAS before."
"Yes, well we, the gods, erased everyone's memory, after we decided that we shouldn't have anymore demigod characters. It was too dangerous, too much came in those kids lives."
"So what about me? Are you my mother?"
"Yes, I never realized your father had fairytale blood in him until after you were born, I had to leave after I found out. Your father never knew I was a goddess, the mist made him think I died."
"Wait, my dad never knew? What about George and Jenny?"
"No, George was four, and Jenny was two when I left. Even me, as a goddess couldn't do much, except try to prevent monsters from them. I kept you three veiled from camp halfblood for as long as I could."
"Wait, so if camp halfblood found me..."
"Yes, your siblings are no longer out of sight of monsters. And since normal swords cannot kill Greek monsters, they are in danger."
I wanted to scream, right then. I wanted to yell at Athena's stupid godly face to go help them right now. Instead, I turned and ran back to camp.
