👄 The Fate

Another boring day is here but do not fret, my darlings. I'm here to spice things up.

Now that our Queen L's hand are tied at the moment, who's brave enough to step up and claim the throne? Is it the Fallen J, the Shamed Little Ro, Scar-faced Jisoo or maybe someone new?

Don't be scared, ladies. I don't bite. I'll even throw out some advice or two.

xoxo

🌻

"Now that bitch thinks she can pit us three against each other," Jennie hissed as she closed her phone.

"Consider me out 'coz I'm not even a tad bit interested in being a so-called Queen," Jisoo immediately said raising both her hands.

"I don't like being the center of attention either." Rosé sighed. "I'd rather be just a bystander. That's safer."

"New flash, Ro. None of us are safe," Jennie blurted out. "Queen or not, as long as we're the main gods' kids, we're far from being safe from the judgement eyes of every student in Olympus High. Ugh! I wish we could all just graduate so I could go to a university as far as I could."

"We still have a year, Jen," Yoongi said. "And seeing as how things are turning out, this year's gonna be bloody."

Jin—who was busy checking himself put of the mirror, spoke. "It's gonna be epic. I mean, it's clear how the new fate is pitting you three against each other. And we all know that's bound to happen soon since you three aren't the best of friends. So yeah. This gonna be one hell of a school tear for us real bystanders."

"For a boyfriend, you sure don't know anything about the girl you're dating," Jisoo scowled at her boyfriend. "I told you, I'm not interested in that—"

"But it isn't your decision to make, is it?" He countered. "See, The Fate is actually like the Fairy Godmother. She decides who becomes the new Cinderella who she'll give those pair of glass heels to stab the competitors. Now that she announced it, all eyes are on you three. Whoever she deems worthy to be her muse, she's gonna be the new Queen. Whether you like it or not."

"You know awfully a lot with the working of this anonymous blogger, Seokjin," Jennie said with her eyes darting towards him. "And you were homeschooled. It's rather... odd."

"Not when you binge watch on Netflix, J," he sassed. "Seriously, this is the whole cliché teen flick dynamics."

Still, Jennie wasn't convinced making him roll his eyes at her.

"If I'm the new fate, why would I even tell you, huh Jennifer?"

"My name's not Jennifer," she said crossing her arms. "And, I don't know. To throw us off maybe?"

"If I was the new fate, I would've made myself the new HBIC of this place," he mocked. "At least this place would be ruled by someone with more idea in the art of war."

"Bitch—"

"Aish you two, jinja!" Jisoo stepped in between the two. "It's clear that it's neither of us. The post was just a minute ago so none of us could've had the time to update it since we don't have our phones with us."

Jennie and Jin both sat back and scoffed. Jisoo gently massaged her temple. Where's Lisa when you need her?

"Ro, have you contacted Li—"

Jisoo couldn't help herself but to face palm. Rosé and Yoongi—like a pair of hormonal teenagers they were, are currently in the middle of a make-out session. Both Jennie and Jin noticed making them grimace.

"They just can't keep their pants on, can they?"

"And that, is why you got knocked up on first try—Aw!"

Thank the gods the school bell rang. The three immediately gathered their stuff and left the two—who looked like they didn't even hear a thing.

Jin and Jennie went to their respective rooms as she went to hers. There she saw Lisa sleeping on her chair.

"Ya Lalisa!" she called. "Ya!"

The girl groaned before opening her eyes and turning towards her.

"What? Can't you see I'm sleeping?"

"Ya, where were you? We've been looking for you all morning," she asked.

"I came straight from the hospital," she answered—rather unwillingly. "Tae said I've been marked by the teachers since I wasn't present for days. He's watching Jungkook for now."

Jisoo stares at how Lisa looked. Hair disheveled, bags under her eyes and there's no sign of make up on her face. Completely different from the old Lisa she knows.

"You could've at least told me," she said as she sat beside her.

"Um, excuse me but that's my seat—"

"Now it isn't," Jisoo cut him off. "Seat somewherelse."

The kid cowered and immediately retreated. Lisa—who's head is currently resting on the table, chuckled.

"Wow, Kim Jisoo. I didn't know you had it in you," she said—still faced down. "Maybe the new fate's right putting your name in the roster."

She rolled her eyes. "Don't believe that shit. I'm not in any way interested in whatever title they give. They're just words."

Lisa then sat straight. "Words that give you power. Power to never be pushed back nor stepped on."

"A useless power," she corrected.

"Au contraire," Lisa said grinning. "You know, I may not like the new fate but, she knows you three are the only ones fit enough to ascend."

"What's this now, a cult?" Jisoo rolled her eyes. "And isn't being Queen your title? You're the Homecoming Queen for Pete's sake. Why push it on to us? Aren't you even mad?"

"Relieved, actually," Lisa answered. "The crown... I never realized how heavy it was on the first place. And being able to remove it from my head, I feel lighter."

Jisoo's forehead creased. What's going on? She shook her head and dove into her bag to get some lip stain.

"Here," she handed the tube to Lisa. "You're enjoying the 'Not the Queen anymore' too much. Put some color on your face, woman. You look like a naked mole rat."

Lisa's eyes narrowed. "Are you sure you don't like to be Queen? You're a freaking natural!"

"What can I say. Hanging out with you requires extensive vocabulary."

🌻

Jennie flipped the pages of her magazine. Her attention was far from the images but on one particular person. Namjoon.

For days, the guy would either be in the classroom or the library. Then he'd head straight home. He'd also see to it that they don't bump into each other during his visits to Jungkook. He avoided her the same way she avoided him. She sighed.

"You're still not talking to him?" Jin asked as he poked Jennie's back. "It's been like, an eternity. Plus, you're bearable while you were with him. Have pity on us."

She rolled her eyes before turning towards him.

"My relationship doesn't necessarily concern you, Kim Seokjin," she flat out replied. "Go bother someone else. I'm busy."

"Busy what? Reading that magazine upside down?"

Jennie immediately looked at the magazine she's holding. It wasn't upside down. The guy grinned.

"So are you gonna keep denying you're not as affected as he is?"

"I couldn't care less," she mumbled. But she did. Very much. And she misses him. So damn much.

"You know, you two are just making yourselves suffer. Look at those horndogs Ro and Yoongi. We can't deny they did shady things towards each other but they chose to just let it go. Now they're both happily—and disgustingly, inseparable."

Her eyebrow raised.

"I didn't do anything wrong here, Jin. He lied to me. He manipulated me—"

"Correction, it was your brother who manipulated you."

"But he knew! And didn't tell me! He ruined my life."

"Really? Ruined?" Jin's eyebrow raised as well. "You have a beautiful daughter, you're closer to your mom than ever and you basically rule the school. Is your life really ruined?"

Jennie fell silent.

"See?" He smiled. "So if I were you—before things start to get complicated again 'coz the new fate bitch seems to be targeting you girls, you better start patching things up with Namjoon. I hear this Athena handmaiden is making eyes at him."

"I couldn't care less—"

"Feast your eyes, Queen J," Jin pointed up front.

A girl—gods know what her name is, was standing next to Namjoon giggling as he tells her something. Jen's blood boiled and her inner 'Hera' wanted to lash out.

She stood up making everyone in the classroom turn to her as her chair falling created a loud bang.

Marching forward, she grabbed Namjoon's arm and dragged him outside. Even those who were merely just walking on the halls looked at them.

"Jen—"

"Shut up," she hissed as she opened the rooftop door.

Namjoon clamed up hearing her pissed tone. It was the first time he saw the girl that angry.

Jennie took a deep breath as they arrived at the empty rooftop. Then she faced him.

"No more secrets. No more lies. No more manipulating without my permission. Understood?"

Namjoon's forehead creased. "Uh... I don't follow."

"I'm giving you another chance, damn it!" She blurted out. "I... I don't want to feel empty anymore... I... I..."

She bit her lip then crouched down to clenched her chest. Her heart was pounding so loud right now it felt like it's about to burst. She's putting her guard down again. She couldn't breathe. Then she felt a pair of masculine arms around her. She cried.

"I'm still mad at you," she managed to say in between her sobs.

"I know," Namjoon managed to say as he gently caressed her back. "Shh... I understand, Jen. That's why I'm giving you space—"

"But I can't handle it anymore!" she blurted out. "It hurts, Joon. It fucking hurts 'coz I miss you. I can't handle it anymore."

Namjoon was lost for words. He was about to say something when Jennie leaned in and caught his lips. It took him by surprise but it had been so damn long. He closed his eyes and kissed her back. Slowly. Trying to make sure that this wasn't a dream.

As they parted, Namjoon helped Jennie stand. Their hands clasped together, she felt a huge boulder lifted off her shoulders. The life that was sucked out of Namjoon returned. They smiled.

"Promise me, Joon," Jennie managed to say. "No more secrets."

He smiled.

"Promise."

🌻

"Any improvements?"

Taehyung turned to see Lisa walk in Jungkook's room. He shook his head making her sigh.

"He'll push through, Lis," he assured her as she held Jungkook's lifeless hand. "He'll make it."

"He'd better," she replied. "He need to patch things up with me soon. The others resolved their issues but we're still stuck."

Taehyung placed his hand on her shoulder and gently gave it a squeeze.

"I saw the post. Are you okay?"

She nodded. "What good is being Queen if I don't have a King to share it with? And besides, that's just a title. I can easily take it back if I want it too."

Taehyung managed to break in a smile. "Spoken like a true Queen."

Lisa just shrugged. Then she turned her attention back towards Jungkook.

"I don't think it was a robbery," she said. "They didn't take his watch."

Realization hit him. His watch was indeed worth more than his phone and wallet  combined.

"Then you mean.... Jaewon?"

She immediately shook her head. "If it was Jaewon, he couldn't have gotten that close to him. It was a critical shot. If someone did shoot him, if would be someone he knows. Someone he wouldn't think would do that to him."

"So it was sone of us?" She nodded. "No way. We're all friends—"

"Everyone who isn't me is my enemy," she quoted. "So we'd better be careful, Tae. Even of each other. But alliances are here for a reason. We both want the same thing right now so we have no choice but to trust each other. So trust my instincts right now. Whoever is behind all this is the new fate."

"Then what do you propose we do?" He asked. "And where do we even start?"

"Who programed the page?"
