👄 The Fate

In this decade we all should know by now that when you call someone and can't find them, you can be pretty sure they'll get the message. But if they don't call you back, it usually means 'Don't Disturb'.

Why look for someone who doesn't want to be found?

🌻

"Did you find him yet?" Taehyung asked Namjoon as he entered the classroom in which the latter shook his head in response.

"No traces. His phone's out of reach. I asked the doorman and he said he saw Jungkook go up his pent that night he's supposed to return—"

"Don't you find it odd?" Jimin interjected. "Knowing him, he wouldn't stop by his pent. He'd go straight to Lisa's place and woo her there."

"True. He had no luggage with him as well as a phone since he threw his in the hotel room—"

"Who threw his phone?" Lisa—who just arrived, cut him off. "Answer me, Jimin."

"Jungkook."

This made the girl's forehead crease. "And why is that? Why did he throw his phone?"

"Because of the TF blast when you arrived back here," Taehyung supplied. "He's pissed, Lis. And he regrets what he said—"

"Then why didn't he follow me?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "He had plenty of time to follow me back since I left."

"That's the thing, Lis," Namjoon said. "He took an immediate flight back. It says he arrived but we can't seem to find or contact him."

This made Lisa roll her eyes at them. "Figures. Maybe he met a hoe or two in the airport and decided to screw them instead—"

"I found this, Lis," he cut her off showing a very familiar piece of jewelry. "You know he never leaves without this. But for some reason, it was on the floor when I checked his pent."

Lisa took it and checked herself. It is Jungkook's. He never took it off. Even when they were... she shook her head and gave it back to Namjoon.

Three words... Eight Letters...

The night she received the anonymous call, she knew exactly who it was. Of course, after everything he said to her, she'd be pissed. She dropped the call almost immediately and blocked it.

She hurriedly took her phone out and unblocked the number. Then called it making the three guys wonder.

"Fuck."

She dialed again and again. Cursing after every failed connection. She screamed making everyone in the classroom turn to her. But she didn't give a damn. Her hands were shaking as she kept calling the number.

"Lis—"

"He called me last night," she cut Taehyung. "I'm so fucking stupid! I shouldn't have dropped the call. I... I should've listened to whatever bullshit excuse he had! Fuck. I... what if something bad happened to him—"

Taehyung, Jimin and Namjoon immediately took a panicky Lisa out of the room and towards the school clinic—which was conveniently the next room to theirs.

"Lisa, breathe," Namjoon tried to calm her down. "It's not your fault. He was a jerk when you two parted ways so—"

"Still!" She yelled and dropped on the floor. "I answered it. What if it was his last call? I... I..."

"Lisa," Taehyung and Jimin crouched down to calm her. "Please calm down. We'll find him—"

"Oh go fxck yourself Park Jimin!" She blurted out. "You can't fvcking tell me to calm myself down at a situation like this! My fucking dick of a boyfriend is missing!"

Just as she screamed, a panting Yoongi, Jin and Hoseok came in the clinic.

"Lisa?"

All sorts of emotions inside Lisa suddenly made her claustrophobic. So she ran out of the clinic brushing past the three other guys.

"What's going on?" Yoongi asked. "Why is she furious?"

"Jungkook's missing," Jimin answered making the three guys wonder. "He left his ring. He never goes anywhere without it."

"Maybe he just left it?" Jin asked.

"Even if he took the longest flight he will come back for it. No questions asked," Taehyung explained.

"Why? Why would he go through all that trouble for a ring?" Hoseok asked curiously.

"I can explain it to you but we have a far more important situation at hand," Namjoon answered. "Jungkook's missing and he might be in danger."

"Why?" Yoongi asked. "Why would he be in danger? How can you even say he's in any kind of danger in the first place."

Cornered. That was what Namjoon and Taehyung felt at that exact moment. In right timing, Jennie arrived.

"Hey I saw Lisa running from here—" As all the guys turned towards her, she raised an eyebrow. "What the hell is going on?"

"Jungkook's missing," Jin told her. "And Joon says he might be in some sort of trouble."

This made Jennie towards her boyfriend. "You still couldn't find him?"

"You know?" Yoongi wondered to which she answered with a nod.

"He's been missing since a week ago," she said with no remorse. "At first I thought he's just being his usual mysterious self but apparently, he's not. And being who he is, he's probably in some kind of danger."

"For gods' sake, why? Why would he be in danger?"

Jennie turned to Namjoon who looked like he was about to shit himself. She heaved a sigh.

"My brother has his fair share of enemies, you know," she muttered. "Also, he's Zeus' son. Ain't that a good enough reason? Or do I have to enumerate every god, non-god he crossed?"

Silence. Of course the Jennie Kim can make all six men shut up.

"But of course. My step brother doesn't mean anything to you," she said pertaining to Yoongi, Jin and Hoseok. "He just helped you guys out at the most crucial times of your lives.

The she pointed at Yoongi.

"Like how he teamed up with your sister to chase Tzuyu away to save your girlfriend's ass."

Now towards Jin.

"Or when he helped stop Jisoo's engagement from Junmyeon securing your incestuous relationship."

And then Hoseok.

"Or kept your shockingly out of character secret from everyone. Who knew the sunshine has some darkness in him?"

She crossed her arms.

"He doesn't help anyone at all," she said sarcastically. "So why worry about him, right?"

"She's good," Taehyung whispered towards Namjoon who just nodded.

"Well, if you guys don't have anything useful to do, can you just stop with the questions? It's not like you're gonna help us with those anyways," she shooed. "On second thought, we'll leave. We have to start somewhere if we want to find my stupid brother."

Jennie clung on to Namjoon's arm and pulled him out of the room. Taehyung and Jimin followed as Yoongi, Jin and Hoseok just stood there heads down.

"Thanks for helping," Namjoon said to Jennie as they were alone in the hallway. Taehyung and Jimin went to the locker area to get some things. "After everything—"

"I understood why he did that to me, Joon," she cut him off. "I know why he posted my test. I threatened to do something to Lisa that's why. He just wanted me to stop whatever it was I was planning. We both know how nuts he is when it involved her. We never actually see eye to eye because of it."

His conscience got to him. For months he kept it. Only Jungkook and him knows about it and he wants to come clean.

"You're wrong."

Namjoon took a deep breath before squeezing her hand.

"He... He posted that picture because I told him you're planning on leaving. I asked him to post your pregnancy test so that your mom would stop you."

Shock was written all over her face. "But I never told you about it—"

"I overheard you and your father talking over the phone, Jen..." he sighed. "I... I didn't want you to leave. I mean, I loved you for the longest time. I didn't want to lose you. Even just as a friend. And Jungkook didn't want you to leave either. But it was too late when I realized I was being selfish. I—"

A loud slap echoed through the corridor. Jennie fumed—her eyes teary.

"The new fate was right..." Jennie said. "You are the greatest player. You're the master of this game. You manipulated me... played with my emotions.  I was so dumb to even believe you!"

She turned around.

"Jen—"

She looked back at him—tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Don't you ever think of coming close to me or my daughter ever again. We're through."

And with that, Jennie completely walked out of the hallway. As Namjoon was about to follow her, the school bell rang and students from the classrooms swarmed. Jennie disappeared from the crowd.

And just like that, Namjoon lost everything.

"Fuck!" Lisa cursed as she continued to call the unknown number. But no one would answer—well except for that annoying service notice lady. "Answer the damn fucking phone Jeon!"

Still, he wouldn't. She can't help control the panic inside her and it adds to her already tensed state. She can't think straight and do something aside for calling the last thing she had of Jeon Jungkook.

"For fucks' sake answer the damned phone—"

"Lisa?"

Instantly she turned. Gods she even forgot how to be her usual self!

"Now's not a great time, Jaewon. Go bore someone else." There she is. She thought she was losing it.

"I uh..." Jaewon pointed at her—specifically her phone. "Heard you cursing on your phone? I just... uh... wanna check to see if everything's okay?"

"I'm cursing on my phone. Of course I'm not okay, genius."

"Oh right. Sorry." He again adorably scratched the back of his head. "Is there... Is there anything I can do to help?"

"If you can miraculously find Jeon fucking Jungkook then yes," she answered. "Can you just go? I need to be alone, thank you very much."

Jaewon just stood there as if he didn't hear a thing. Then he walked towards her.

"Are you deaf or something—"

Jaewon took her phone and tapped something on it.

"Ya! Give me—"

"You're trying to contact him, right?" He said plainly. "Why not check the last location of the phone call to find out where he's located?"

Lisa's mouth flew open. The most obvious way of finding Jeon Jungkook was right there, out in the open. But she chose to keep doing the dumbest thing in the book.

"If we can check the last known coordinates, we can use it to pinpoint his exact location on google maps..." Jaewon then took his own phone out and tapped on it. "...there! He's in a place near... west avenue? Yeah. West Avenue. The nearest establishment is an old book store. It's pretty much just in the neighborhood—"

Lisa grabbed her phone in an instant and sprinted towards the nearest exit leaving a smirking Jung Jaewon.

"All's well that ends well."

"Have you seen Lisa anywhere?" Jisoo asked Rosé who was busy tapping on her phone. "I need to ask her about Homecoming—ya! Park Roseanne!"

"Huh? Oh hi Chu." Rosé's attention was now on Jisoo. "What were you asking?"

"Have you seen Lisa? She's been missing since first period," she repeated. "You're in the same class, right?"

"Yeah but Lisa don't usually attend homeroom," she replied. "Maybe she's in the clinic?"

"Should we go and check—"

Jisoo wasn't able to continue what she was about to say when she spotted Jennie—alone, walking towards the bleachers. She immediately tapped Rosé and pointed towards her.

As they saw how Jennie shoved a nymph out of her way and even her minions looked a lot more scared than the usual. The two girls looked at each other.

"Something happened?"

"Positive."

Both girls stood up and took their things. They walked towards the raging Jennie Kim.

"Jen what's wrong—"

"It's none of your goddamned business," she spat. Catching the girl off-guard. Jennie sighed. "Just... Just leave. Please. I promise I'll tell you but not now. I—"

"Jen."

Namjoon stood at the end of the bleachers making Jennie roll her eyes.

"What part of don't come close to me don't you fxcking get?!"

"I'm around two meters away from you," he corrected. "Please let me explain—"

Jisoo gasped as one of Jennie's book came flying towards the guy. And Jen, there was no remorse drawn on her face at all.

"What the—"

Another book was thrown which was eaisly dodged by him. Still, Jen wouldn't stop throwing things as him.

"Will. You. Stop—"

"I think you should go," Rosé spoke up. Namjoon sighed.

"I'll tall to you later at home—"

"I'm leaving. Don't get your hopes up."

Sadness was evident in Namjoon's eyes before he left. Jennie let out a sigh before turning to Rosé and Jisoo. She told her minions to leave as well.

"Jen..."

"Don't, Ro," Jen said softly—like a whisper to be exact. "Please..."

Jisoo and Rosé sat beside her and she instantly broke down. The two girls did not understand but they just let her cry.

"I'm sorry," she croaked. "You guys are always here for me but I couldn't do the same for you."

"Don't worry about it, Jen," Rosé assured the brunette. "We're friends right? It doesn't matter now—"

"You don't understand, Ro," she cut her off. "I... well shit. I don't fucking care about my dick of a brother anyways."

This made Rosé's forehead crease. "Jen?"

Jennie contemplated whether she should tell Rosé what she knows or not. But she deserves to know the truth, right? But the only question now is, was it her story to tell?

"Ro, there's something you should know..."
