You: You know how you said I can trust you? Well, I am tired of this mission and I don't want to continue manipulating these people.

Hunter: Manipulating...I'm sorry you see it that way. If you consider it differently, you'll see the crew members are not being manipulated by you. They are being manipulated by their leaders whom use them to do their deeds. On the contrary, you are enlightening them on the truth. Because of you, they'll receive the opportunity to fight for a righteous. You are saving them.

Considering his explanation, you started to see the mission in a more positive light. But, regardless on how "right" the mission was, you still had a nagging feeling that made you want to leave.

You: I guess you're right, but still...this mission is too much. I don't feel like any of them are close to becoming my friend. I still want to leave.

Hunter: It's too bad you feel that way, but it's normal for people to want to back out shortly into the mission.

Hunter: You have to be confident in yourself. You're doing great. How about instead of thinking of this as an intimidating mission that determines the future of the world, consider it a game. Have fun: that's the best way to make friends!

You: But, it's serious.

Hunter: Yes, it is, but you're stressing out about it too much. Think of the mission as a game, and it'll all begin to make sense. So, the crew members don't seem very open to you, right?

You: Leo seems open enough, but that's probably just because he's crazy. I still feel like everyone is secretly against me, waiting for me to mess up.

Hunter: It's a game, remember? It would be no fun if they liked you from the start, would it?

Hunter: The fun comes when they slowly open up to you. If you be yourself and follow Leader's directions, they'll grow to like you in no time.

Hunter: I will do everything in my power to make this mission comfortable and intriguing for you. Speaking of which, last night, Leader sent a message to Annabeth.

You: I don't understand...I thought our goal was to keep them from knowing about you guys: the potential threat.

Hunter: You are correct. But, Leader's message was strategic. Leader wants Annabeth to trust you since she is the one everyone else looks up to. Once you have Annabeth's trust, you have everyone else's trust, then all you have to do is befriend them.

You: Wow. I didn't realize Leader was looking out for me.

Hunter: Leader is always behind the scenes, making judgement and plans. Leader always takes steps to ensure our success and safety. So, last night, Leader sent a dream to Annabeth. Within the dream, Annabeth was told that you are a demigod--a child of a mortal and a god.

You: I'm sorry, but I hope you don't mind. I need to ask a question so I can understand what is going on.

Hunter: I'll make an exception.

You: So, I'm Jesus?

Hunter: No, you are (Y/N). Everyone on the crew is a demigod and are offspring of Greek gods. Leader told Annabeth you are a demigod because that would make them trust you. Demigods have hard lives and tend to stick together, so if they think you are a demigod, you will gain their trust.

You: Greek gods?

Hunter: Yes, they're real. So are the gods of a whole bunch of religions. Oh, but the Greek gods are the most influential.

Hunter: They have been ruling for so long and they're such absent leaders. They don't care about humans. They start wars for fun. They are corruption...but that won't matter soon.

Hunter: You don't need to worry about that. Anyway, I'm curious on your impression of the crew members. Who do you like the most?

A: Annabeth is a fierce leader. She's really cool.

Hunter: I agree she is a great leader. Every move of hers is calculated. Leader admires her outstanding skills, it's no wonder why it's important to have her on our side.

B: Percy is clearly taken by Annabeth, but he strikes me as a cool friend in a brotherly way.

Hunter: You have a good eye. Percy is one of the most powerful demigods alive. In the future, he'll be considered a legend. An idol. Hopefully, he realizes his talents are wasted on his deadbeat dad and the wasteland he rules over.

C: Although he's sometimes annoying, Leo makes me laugh and not feel scrutinized. The others...

Hunter: Oh yes, Leo. Although he appears to be weak and just the ship's repairman, we must be careful to not underestimate him. In the past, he has proven to use his weak image to destroy enemies.

D: I don't know much about him, but Nico is pretty mysterious. I want to know more about him.

Hunter: Nico...I didn't expect him to be your favorite. Then again, girls tend to unconsciously find comfort in guys like him.

You: What do you mean by that? What kind of guy is he?

Hunter: That's not my place to say. Besides, I'm not sure if he knows either.

Hunter: Huh? About me...? I've...I've never really talked about myself. Is it because no one has ever asked me about my feelings? Well, now that I think about it, I've been feeling really good since you've accepted the invitation. It feels like a dream...someone is interested in us.

Hunter looked at you, his pupils widening as he tried to telepathically express how he felt.

Hunter: (Y/N), you're the perfect person for this mission. I'd like to think so. Please, just keep trying to befriend them. You're doing fine, but it's imperative for you to be more involved with them. But, at the same time, remember to follow the directions.

Hunter: Oh, of course, do not forget about me! The others are confused and brainwashed. It's in your best interest that you refrain from having any emotional connection with them. It'll make the mission harder on you if they confuse you.

Hunter's eyes widened as though he forgot about an assignment due in an hour.

Hunter: Oh, I've been gone for too long. Talking to you was so entertaining. I must leave, but don't worry. I'll check up on you later.

Before Hunter could turn around fully, he turned back.

Hunter: Before I go, I need you to know something.

Holding your breath, you waited for his next words. From the way you spoke, it sounded like you would never see him again.

Hunter: Meeting you...having you on this mission...it's been the best thing in my life, (Y/N). I'll see you later.

After Hunter left, you stayed inside your room. Sure, you could leave your room and socialize, but you felt like you would be intruding on everyone's space. You felt everyone would just rather pretend they never saw you and carry on their day. Except for the meal parts. Leo was making enough food for everyone, so obviously they expected you to eat with them.

As the thought of food crossed your mind, a cramp developed in your stomach.

You: I probably shouldn't have skipped breakfast.

Considering your hunger, you realized the crew members might have been purposely starving you to force you to go to the meals. You wondered what was so important that they had to get you to go to the meals.

Within a few minutes, there was knocking on the door.

Leo: Hey, lunch is ready!

Your stomach growled, although not loud enough for anyone but you to hear.
