"It seems like we have something in common," you smirked.

"We're both good-looking and single?"

You rolled your eyes. "You wish."

His eyes widened, almost in fear. "Wait, are you saying that you aren't single? Or are you saying you need a good pair of glasses? Because let's be honest. If you don't think I'm good-looking, you need to get your eyes checked."

You chuckled, finding Leo's jokes just good enough to laugh at.

"Good. If you didn't laugh, I would think you also needed a hearing aid. Only those with impaired hearing could resist laughing at my jokes," he winked.

"Okay," you laughed. "The thing we have in common is that we both have secrets and both are curious about the other's secrets. So, how about you spill. Then, I will spill," you bargained.

"Hm," Leo hummed as he stroked his imaginary beard. "I don't know if that offer is worth it. How about this. You tell me your secret, I will judge if it's as big as mine, then I'll tell you mine if it is."

You shook your head. "Nice try, but I'm not budging."

Leo slapped his knee in defeat. "You are ruthless. You and Annabeth would be great friends."

"'Would?' Don't you mean 'will?'" you corrected him.

Leo's humor drained out of him as he looked into your eyes. "No matter what happens, I forgive you. You thought you were doing the right thing. Just, promise you'll come back and make it right?"

You squinted, entirely confused about what he meant. Did he know of some imminent danger?

As you began to form the words to ask what he meant, he had already slipped out the door.

As you lied in bed, waiting for sleep to overcome you, you considered quitting and go exploring the ship. Maybe you would come across someone that could entertain you instead of waiting for sleep that didn't seem like it would ever come.
