Demicod
Frank was looking at the lake of camp halfblood. The sun reflecting on the surface. It just looked so peaceful that Frank wanted to jump in and take a swim. Sadly, Frank's grandmother never let him have a swim lesson. He tried to teach himself but he almost drowned. Frank, luckily, had the ability to change into whatever animal he wanted so he could change into a fish and swim. Which is exactly what he did. Frank closed his eyes as he felt his body shrink into a slimy fish. His body wiggled as he flopped into the lake. Frank swam around to his heart's content, swirling in circles and looping around the rocks.
Frank felt so at peace that he didn't know how long he was under the lake. Frank heard someone come up to the lake so Frank decided that it was time to get out. He swam to the surface and saw Leo Valdez dipping his feat in the cool water. Frank swam up to him and poked his head up. Leo looked in confusion as the fish ventured up to him. Frank suddenly did a flip so Leo knew it was him.
"Frank?" Frank nodded. Leo understood. "We should probably go." Frank tilted his little head. "You've been gone for about two hours and Hazel is worried about you."
Frank nodded as he flopped on the shore. Frank closed his eyes as he tried to transform back. Frank flopped around as he waited for his body to enlarge back to its normal shape but nothing happened. Frank looked around, now panicking. Was something stopping him? Leo tilted his head, confused.
"Um Frank, is something wrong?" Frank started flopping around faster, his mouth gasping for air. "Oh my gods Frank! Get in the water!"
Leo got up and grabbed Frank. Leo struggled to keep Frank from falling out of his hands. Leo rushed to the lake and tried to gently put Frank down but he jumped out of Leo's hands.
"You okay?" Frank's head popped out of the water and he nodded. Leo sighed in relief. Leo was worried about his friend. "Well I'm going to be going. Maybe I'm distracting you. I'll see you later. I guess." Leo walked away and hoped that his friend would be back to normal soon.
Frank started to panick. It's been awhile and he still hasn't changed back. Frank tried again but now it's been getting harder to focus. Frank sighed (as best as he could considering that he was underwater) as he sank to the bottom of the lake.
Frank closed his eyes, thinking that this could be a good place to live for the rest of his life. He could befriend the other fish. Frank just sat at the bottom of a rock and looked up at the sky. The sun was in the middle of the sky. Frank was about to swim away but he heard talking.
"Is he still here?"
"I think. He couldn't change back. I haven't seen him for hours."
Frank swam close to the surface. He saw Percy Jackson and Leo. Frank sighed. He popped his head up to find Percy looking down at him.
"Hi Frank. Can I help?" Frank went under the water. Maybe this son of Poseidon could help. He looked as Percy dived in. Being a son of the sea god, Percy could breathe underwater and his clothes didn't get wet unless he willed it to be. Frank swam down with Percy.
"So, having trouble changing back to human form?" Frank just stared at him blankly as if saying 'duh'.
"Well you didn't have to rude about it." Frank let a bubble out. Did Percy understand him?
"Um yes. I can talk to underwater creatures remember?" Frank nodded. He swam away but Percy followed.
"So what's the problem?" Frank kept swimming. "Frank!" Frank opens his mouth to try and complain but nothing came out. Percy knew exactly what he was trying to say.
"Hmm." Percy stroked his chin, thinking. Frank tilted his head. Percy started to walk away. Frank sighed, thinking that Percy gave up on him. Suddenly Percy turned around and chased Frank around the lake, screaming. Frank swam as fast as he could, swearing in fish language. Percy chased Frank for a couple minutes until Frank fell to the bottom of the lake, out of exhaustion. Percy stopped.
"I thought that would work. I'm not sure what to do. Let's go to Leo." Percy started to swim to the surface but Frank was too tired so his friend carried him to the surface. There, Leo was waiting for him, a smile on his face.
"That was very amusing to watch." Frank blubbed and Percy translated.
"Frank says 'shut up.' What should we do?" There seemed to be a glint in his eyes. Leo just looked at his scaly friend and sighed.
"There is nothing we can do. I'm sorry Frank, I really am." Frank's head slumped into Percy's hands. "But do you know what this means?" Leo winked at Percy before finishing his sentence.
"You will forever remain a Demicod."
Leo smirked but Frank had it. He jumped out of Percy's hand and closed his eyes. When he opened them, he was giving Leo a very soggy head lock. Percy tried to hold back a laugh but failed, and Leo smiled proudly. Frank let go of this very humorous son of Hephaestus.
"What's so funny?"
"I knew this would work. Com on, Hazel is worried and you don't want to miss capture the flag." Leo started walking away.
"Hey Leo,"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks. But I'm still getting you for that."
"I don't doubt it." So the three demigods walked away from the lake back to camp.
