Author's POV:

June quickly reached near the lake and found Katie waiting for her.

"Did you find anything?"

"Like hell I did, she didn't even tell us where would she go or with whom" Katie replied

"I sense trouble, what should we do now?"

"I think it would be the best to call the cops before it's too late"

"Uh... don't you think it would be a little too much-?" June asked

"No, it won't! We don't know what happened to Ava, and I don't think we should waste anymore time"

June hesitated a little, she out of all the people don't want to get involve with the cops but she had no other choice. June informed Ava's family whereas Katie called the police.

After the cops were there, they began investigating.

"Did your friend tell you something about it?" They asked us as we shaked our heads as 'no'. Ava's mom and sister were tensed, they were trying to contact their relatives, asking if she went there or not and also June asked some of the neighbours.

"Hello-" a middle aged woman was passing with some grocery bags "Oh, the cops! Is something the matter?"

"Oh Mrs Danguli, my daughter is missing and her friends are saying that she is in trouble, I don't know what to do" Ava's mom sobbed

"Ava? I thought she went to hang out with her boyfriend" she replied. All eyes were on her, the cops surrounded her, making her flinch.

"Please tell us the details" a cop asked

"I don't know much but I saw her with a guy when I went for buy some stuffs"

"Do you know in which way did they go?"

"I think they went towards the east... I'm not sure though" she replied

"David, where the east path leads to?" The cop asked another one

"It takes to the boundary, the hills and the old burned out coal factory, sir" David replied

"Everyone! Get ready" they hurriedly went on their cars as June and Katie followed them with their cars.

Meanwhile, Ava was tied to a rope and Randy was standing in front of her holding an iron rod, Ava's arms were bleeding.

"I thought you would be a good girl for sometime but you disappointed me" He said

"Why are you doing this to me?" She yelled

"Babe, you called for this" he smirked.

Ew cringe.

"Nonsense! All I did was love you but you—!! What do you want to do with me?" She struggled but failed

"Love is nothing but a cringy stupid game for stupid teens and I won't be holding you for long, the people would come to take you"

"W-which people?"

"The people who would take you in far away land~? Doesn't it sounds dreamy? But it's not so, I just need the money and that's it, we can enjoy the time till then talking to each other" he smiled

"I-I will give you the money you need but please leave me"

"Nah, I am sure you can't afford that much and also, I like to earn the money in an illegal way"

It was long when she started crying her eyes out, "You're a monster—!!"

"Ew, don't cry, you look ugly!" He said. Ava sobbed and looked at him, they stared for each other for a while when Randy said,

"You have a pretty bad luck with people, like you friend and boyfriend are both a type of criminal, funny right?" He laughed

"Huh?"

"What?"

"What do you mean by my friend is a criminal...?"

"Oh, you don't know" he smirked and went near her, "That black haired friend of yours murdered two people two months ago"

"June...?"

"Yup! Pretty shocking, right? Thank me for this brand new information"

"You're talking nonsense, June can't kill anyone" she said

"Believe me or not, but I saw that with my own eyes" he said. Before Ava could say anything they heard the door knocking.

Ava trembled and when Randy was about to open the door, they heard the cops saying "Open the door"

"Dammit!" He said and went to her "look what you did!"

"HELP!" Ava shouted, hearing it's the police as Randy taped her mouth

"We need to go" He opened the back window and jumped down and was about to pull Ava out when June came there

"Wait— He is here—" June was about to shout when Randy shushed her

"Yell another word and the whole world will know about you murdering your ex and his girlfriend" he said and June's eyes widened

"How you-"

"Damn" Randy said and ran away leaving Ava and June, the cops saw that and started following them from behind.

"Mhm!!" Ava struggled as June opened her mouth and untied the ropes

"June, you-"

"AVA!" Katie came running "Thank God you're okay"

"Yeah...I am fine" Ava said "I'm sorry...I should have been more careful"

"It's fine, your mom and sister was worried, let's go home" June said as she looked at her and nodded.

After a while, the police informed that he ran away. Ava, Katie and June returned Ava's home and her mom scolded her for going without informing her but she was thankful that her daughter was back.

"Thank you for finding my sister" Ava's sister thanked the cops and Katie and June

"It's our pleasure" the cops said and left as we nodded.

"I think it's time we should return home too" Katie said to June as she nodded

"Um, you should head back now" June said to Ava's family as Ava's family nodded.

June and Katie was about to head back when Ava stopped June.

"I've something to say"

"Yes?"

"Um, Katie, can you please go ahead?" Katie looked at both of them nodded.

"What do you want to say?"

"I don't want to believe this but,

Did you really kill Dave and Lydia?"
