June's POV :

"Dave...?" My eyes widened as I took a step back on my bed "H-how are you...alive?"

"Death person can't be alive, June" he replied

"Then...?"

He didn't reply my answer but said, "you can't escape karma, no matter what you do"

"It's not my fault, I loved you so much!"

"You don't kill the person you love just to hide your fears"

"You broke my heart first, Dave" he said

He didn't say anything but just smiled, maybe he doesn't have anything else to say. Then I saw he started to fade and completely faded away.

His words are ringing in my head like a bell, I couldn't sleep. Did I start hallucinating now? No, this is bad...

The next day I went to college with a dull mood. I didn't had a good sleep, everytime I close my eyes, Dave's smile was appearing in front of me. Why this is happening when I finally thought of moving on?

"Girl, you okay?" Katie asked as I took my seat

"Hmm, I just couldn't sleep wel" I said

"How did your date go?" Ava asked and I looked at her,

"It was amazing, we enjoyed a lot"

"That's sweet!" Katie chirped. She is too good to hide her emotions and letting go of her feelings for her best friend...damn, I'm surely a devil.

"Morning" Yuri entered the class and as we all waved at him.

The classes again started but I couldn't focus, my eyes were tired, I tired to sleep but was also afraid that the teacher will scold. Just for distraction, I turned towards the window and saw Dave again, sitting under the tree.

I remember, me and him used to gossip there, bunking classes...

"No!" I said to myself and quickly turned back. Everyone looked at me for a while and then started minding their own work.

"You really okay?" Ava whispered from behind as I nodded as 'yes', I didn't want to bring that thing again.

During recess, we four again went to the terrace to have our food,

"Do you guys like tomatoes or cabbages?"

"None"

"I like cabbages" Ava said "because my favourite webtoon character is a cabbage!"

"..."

We shook our head and then laughed, she just pouted.

"Well, I am thinking to try cooking since June's mom likes a son-in-law who can cook" Yuri grinned

"Ahem, whatever, she is just talking nonsense you know" I narrowed my eyes

"Well well, but I feel hopeless, and I want to show her my skills by making tomato cupcakes and cabbages lolipop!"

"... WHAT THE HELL?!" We yelled as he laughed

"He totally lost it" Katie shook her head

"He didn't had it in the first place" Ava smiled

"Uh, what?" I asked

"Screw for his dumb brain!"

"Lol"

I feel a little peaceful now that I'm with friends. I think I was too tired and that's why was seeing those hallucinations.

I was having my fries when I heard a sound of wind, it wasn't too windy today but I ignored it.

"June," not again. I looked here and there, he wasn't here

"What are you looking for?" Yuri asked me

"Nothing, I think I just heard my name" I smiled nervously.

"Actually, you are looking kinda dull to me since morning, you're okay?"

"Yes... I am, I couldn't sleep well..."

"No one can sleep well after killing two people"

"I'M SORRY!" I shouted and shut my ears.

"June?!" Ava and Katie looked shocked "You okay?"

"Here some water" Yuri passed me the water.

"Uh...I have some work" I said and rushed downstairs, I can feel a strong energy, it's eating me up, my mind is in a mess

"You can't escape fate no matter how much you run away"

"What do you want?! I'm sorry, okay?! Please let me leave peacefully!" I shouted, everyone was looking at me so I ran inside the washroom.

"Peace was never the option, accept your faults and punishment"

"I don't want to! Neither would happen if you didn't start liking that Lydia, I'm happy with Yuri now! Please let me be!"

"What if Katie secretly wants Yuri? What if she tries to snatch him away? Will you kill her too?" I heard his chuckling. Katie would never do that, she isn't like this.

"Stop your nonsense!"

"Like you snatched my happiness, Katie would snatch yours too, this is how it works... you're meant to be lonely!"

"I'M NOT!"

"June! June! What happened?! Come out" everything was calm now, I heard Ava outside and came out

"Are you okay??"

"Yeah... I am" I replied

"What's happening?"

"Uh nothing, where's Yuri and Katie?" I asked

"They had some work so they-"

"Where are they?!" I asked as she flinched

"Calm down... they must be in the music room" I ran towards the music room, what they must be doing? What if Katie is really planning to snatch him away from me?

"Yuri!" I opened the door of the music room, there were few students but Yuri and Katie wasn't there,

"Um, Yuri isn't here" a student said as I nodded and went to the other room. There were nowhere, I searched the ground and even the terrace.

"I told you~"

Dave's voice was ringing in my head again, he is right... I'm finally paying for my deeds.

I sat down on the floor, hugging ny knees, everything is falling apart, why can't I be happy for once more? All I wanted was true love....

"June?" I looked up and saw Yuri, he came running to me and gave me a hug "Oh gosh, what actually happened? Are you okay?"

"No.. I'm not...where were you?" I asked, and sobbed

"Me and Katie went to the nurse's office to bring some hydrated lime drink for you" he said

"Uh, I want to go home"

"Alright, just wait here, I'm talking to the headmistress" he said and went to the principal's office. Katie was standing there, she looked at me and came near,

"Are you have hallucinations?" She asked

"What's that to do with you? All you want to to snatch Yuri from me, right?" I asked

"What?! What are you saying?!"

"He likes me only so you better back off or I won't even hesitate to kill you too!"

"Kill me...too?"
