the gif really doesn't have to do with the pack but it looks cool as hell so i'm adding it. credits to the original

It was Monday morning and Hazel was beginning her morning routine as normal. Finished getting ready and decided that she was going to treat herself to a coffee because it was going to be that kind of day. The barista had drawn a little heart next to her name. The coffee was good too.

So Hazel was not expecting the still-hot coffee to be spilled all over her when she turned the corner to walk down the hallway.

Her classroom was right there and if she hadn't been checking up on a few emails on her phone then she more than likely could have avoided the run in.

"What the hell?" Her voice was raised, and she probably shouldn't have said that in front of the kids but she figured they would excuse her. She also just figured out that her coffee had splashed all over the front of her new white blouse.

The boys continued on as if she wasn't there. Looking around, Hazel wanted to hold back for a male teacher to come - she didn't want to test her strength in a fight between two guys but she couldn't wait either.

"Hey!" Hazel was told when she was younger that her grandfather - an asshole, but nevermind that - had a certain tone he used when her mom and uncles weren't listening. You could tell when he went from a normal voice to this voice, and her mother always said they'd straighten up in a second. Apparently, it had passed down to her mom, something she knew all too well, and Hazel wasn't sure if she had it because she never really yelled. But as soon as everyone froze right after she did yell, it must have passed down another generation as well.

Her eyes caught on Jared, who stared at her with wide eyes before diverting them to the ground. The other kid, a senior, took a step back as well but muttered something under his breath, casting a dark look at Jared. The boy immediately tensed up again, already raising his fist. Hazel gripped his forearm, and she was sure that he could've pulled his arm out but froze again.

"Enough," she spoke, glaring between the two of them. "I don't even want to know why you started fighting and I certainly don't want to hear any excuses. You," she looked at the boy, pointing the opposite way. "Principal's office now. I don't trust you two to walk together, so Beth, if you would go with him please." Beth was a nice enough girl, naturally friendly enough that she didn't really have any strangers here at school. He would calm down talking to her. "And you, Jared... This way."

She could tell he didn't want to go but it took one glare from her and he trudged along behind her. Waiting until they were out of sight and then some, Hazel finally turned to look at him. "You want to tell me what that was about?"

The only acknowledgement she got was a swift shake of his head.

"You've never been one to argue much, Jared, much less fight somebody." Again, he remained silent making Hazel puff out in frustration. "Is something going on at home?"

"You're not a counselor," he finally grumbled. "Stop trying to talk to me like that."

Hazel actually stopped walking. "Hey.. Hey. I'm not a counselor but don't talk to me like I don't care about you. You were seriously ill that day, and then you don't show up for nearly a week. Now you look different and I'm not even going to mention the tattoo. Now I don't need to know what happened but I need to know that you're okay, because you're not acting like it."

He lost his composure for a second but Hazel still noticed. "I can't," he breathed out. "I can't tell you."

Her anger simmered instantly. "Why? I promise to keep it between you and me."

"I can't," Jared repeated.

The door beside of them banged open, causing them both to jump up and a frantic looking student squinted at them. "Sorry, sorry. Late for class."

Hazel turned back to look at Jared but the interruption gave him the chance to put up the walls again. Knowing that he wouldn't budge, she sighed and started walking.

She didn't see him for the rest of the day. He was still at school but didn't show up for her class. He'd skipped, obviously, but Hazel couldn't find it in herself to report him even though she should. But teaching helped, and she needed to be there for her other students.

"Alright," she voiced out, quieting down the anxious students. "Good class you guys. We got pretty far today so no homework but please continue to work on you assignment. I've given you all plenty of time so I'm not going to allow exceptions.

The bell rung, and they all scattered out of her class ready to go home. Hazel was ready to go home too, despite the fact she needed to stay behind and catch up. She forced herself to sit down and bring the computer out of its sleeping state. Constantly zoning in and out, she couldn't stay focused on anything she tried. Peering down to the corner of the screen, she groaned when only five minutes had passed.

Giving up, already knowing she would regret it tomorrow, Hazel slung her bag around her and walked out the room, arm reaching behind her to shut off all the lights. The five minutes had made a difference outside the classroom. There was still maybe one or two students lingering in the halls but besides that they were barren. Looking out one of the windows, she caught a glimpse of the last bus rolling out the school's parking lot.

She was having a hard time finding her keys, and without really paying attention around her she fumbled around her bag in search of them. It took a few seconds, but she pulled them out triumphantly and went to go unlock her car. The wind was blowing slightly, shifting strands of hair in her face. Flicking her hair to the side, she saw two figures out of the corner of her eye. Out of curiosity, she peeked over to identify the two, stopping when she saw Jared.

The other man had his back turned on her, but even from her point of view she could tell he was older. But Hazel wasn't too concerned about him, more on the look on Jared's face.

She didn't know how she'd gotten so close without either of them seeing or hearing her. Jared finally lifted his head up to set his eyes on her, looking distraught at the sight of her. The other man must have seen the look on his face because he started turning as well. Still, Hazel kept her focus on Jared.

"What are you doing?" The younger boy forced out, teeth gritted together. "I told you I'm fine."

Hazel scoffed. "And I still don't believe you."

"Listen, miss-"

She didn't give the other person a chance to speak. "What's wrong?"

Jared didn't answer but looked up at the man, trying to speak to him through expressions. But the older man didn't look back at him.

"You need to leave."

Rolling her eyes, Hazel wasn't even worried about being disrespectful to someone else because this man was seriously starting to piss her off. "No, I think you do."

He was starting to get annoyed with the girl ignoring him and attempted to lightly grab her arm. The contact seemed to shock him and he pulled back abruptly. His fingertips had barely grazed her skin but they felt as if they were on fire. She must have felt something too, her eyes finally reaching his.

The shock seemed minimal now compared to looking at her. She'd given him a strange vibe from the beginning but this was an entirely different level. Something had happened, something was happening, and Sam didn't know what. He wanted to grab her, demand to know what she was doing to him, but found himself stuck to the ground.

This was too much, she was too much. Whatever was happening inside him was too much and he didn't know what to do except to stare at her. He was filled with some kind of awe as much as he wanted to be embarrassed for staring so long.

It seemed she couldn't look away as well. Eyes wide, her mouth was formed in a small 'O' shape as she gaped up at him. Not one to consider herself short, she felt ridiculously small next to the large man a foot away from her.

The only one that seemed to have it together was Jared. "Um... Sam."

Sam barely heard him, much less respond. He couldn't. She was still here, she was still staring up at him. Sam wasn't sure if he would ever be able to look away from her eyes.

Trying again, Jared went to nudge his shoulder. "Sam?"

Hazel finally put a name to his face, assuming that Jared was talking to the man and not someone else. Sam... Sam. Jared. Jared was upset. Her mind was in slow motion but she somehow managed to turn away and blink slowly at Jared.

A soft noise slipped past Sam, and he would have been embarrassed but was still wrapped up in her.

Jared looked just as confused as them, if not more so. He'd never seen Sam behave like this and it was a little unnerving. "Sam?"

With the force behind Jared's voice, Sam had to take a step back as he looked away. Clenching his eyes shut, he bowed his head down. When he opened his eyes, he saw his hands trembling but didn't notice until now. He honestly couldn't feel his body at the moment. "What is happening?"

Sam didn't know if she had heard him or not. His mind was still fuzzy. Taking one more step back, and then another, Sam couldn't pick his head up. "Let's go Jared." It hurt to run the other way, away from her, and he wished he could hate the feeling. What made her so important, why couldn't he act normal around her?

Jared hesitated but followed him into the woods.

All Hazel did was stare at their retreating forms. It didn't cross her mind until a while later why there were running into the woods instead of the to a car or even up the street.

If she thought she was distracted before, Hazel wouldn't be able to pick a name for how she was feeling now. Her mind was still going a hundred miles per hour. She still wasn't able to work, and even if she wanted to sleep she knew she wouldn't be able to.

She wanted to talk to someone about this, and her heart squeezed painfully when she realized she didn't have anybody to discuss this with. With her moving to this town and not telling anyone, Hazel knew she couldn't just pick up the phone and dial to her previous home. And while she had made friends here, a couple of good ones, she wasn't sure she even knew what she was feeling, much less have someone try and tell her.

On the other side of town, Sam wasn't in a much better state of mind so he was doing the one thing he knew - wolfing out. The transformation had been shocking at first, and he hated that he was the one to go through it but his wolf form soon became his first choice. This was in his blood. Letting the wolf take control, he was able to think things through a bit more clearly. The feeling was still overwhelming. Never stopping the pace, Sam knew he must have walked all around the La Push territory.

Jared had tried to help him but Sam, confused, snapped at him. He felt bad but shook the feeling out of his mind. He was supposed to be the Alpha, the leader, but right now he didn't feel like one. This was like going back to step one with all of the confusion and not knowing.

He was so lost within himself that the snapping of a tree branch had him on edge. Snarling, he whipped around to see Harry holding both hands up.

"Woah, Sam," he calmly eased, raising his hands higher. "Jared came and got us."

Sam snapped his jaws in response, not liking Jared seeing him this vulnerable.

Harry sensed this, and shook his head. "He did the right thing. Remember we were part of the pack too. We helped you out with the beginning of your transformation and we'll help you now."

The wolf prowled closer, making a questioning sound.

"It's rare what you've experienced, but if Jared described it correctly then it's not a bad thing. Not many of our kind do... It sounds like you imprinted on that girl, Sam."

The foreign word sounded weird, and he titled his head to the side, not understanding.

Harry chuckled, waving for the wolf to follow him. "C'mon, Sam. We have a lot to talk about."

They met. They met. Sam and Hazel met. I was doing some weird singing to that and it sounded fun. Hopefully yall get the vibe.

Anywaysss I didn't do bad updating, huh? Still not as long as I would like but I shall deal and keep adding length. I plan on updating Pursuit soon, if youre into that, but you never know. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe two weeks. We'll see, it'll be fun. We have fun here.

Tell me what you think! I always love writing imprinting scenes.
