Cream groaned as she sat up. She had fallen asleep with Toxie on her lap and soreness kicked in. Velvet chuckled as the taller girl stretched.

"What is so funny?"

"Nothing. You're cute when stressed." Cream raised an eyebrow.

"Says the child sized girl." Velvet stuck out her tongue as they arrived at the destination. Wildlife was the only thing that could describe it. Pine smiled as a voice called out to them.

"Professor Pine!" A small girl skidded to a stop and ducked behind the taller professor. "Help! Professor Maple is being a jerk and getting in the middle of my work!" A taller male went over and frowned.

"I was just asking her what she was doing..." The little girl practically jumped him.

"With your Blastoise getting ready to attack the delta I was watching? I don't think so!" Pine quickly started to split the duo up. Velvet looked the smaller girl up and down as she got a good look at her.

"Um... Professor? May we get introductions please?" Cream asked quietly. Pine smiled as she moved slightly to the side.

"My bad. This is Professor Maple, our aiding professor here in our field, and Beige, our Dexter here." The smaller girl looked them up and down as Pine continued. "Guys, this is Velvet and Cream. They're here to assist in the research. Please be friendly and help them get used to this environment. That means no fighting." Beige frowned as she huffed.

"You two can join me. I have something for you guys that'll help." The duo nodded as they followed her to a small tent. "We'll get you guys situated in sleeping areas later, but let's worry about getting you ready for the field." She held out a small backpack to each of them. "These will get you through the research portion of the day." The two girls took their respective packs while Indigo went through her own. She grabbed a small, brown paper bag and placed it inside hers. "Almost forgot to grab that." She smiled as she put the pack on her back. "This is the supply tent. This will have most of the supplies that you'll need out on the field." She smiled. "Any questions?" Velvet gulped.

"Yeah... Are we going right out?" Beige grinned.

"Yep. I'm going to teach you how this field works. I lead this place as the Dexter here and I'm going to do my job. Follow!"

She led them up to a small tree where a small pokemon sat.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Beige quietly pulled out a camera and aimed it at the small pokemon. She snapped the picture just before it ran off. She grinned as she looked at it. "There." Velvet's eyes widened.

"Wow... you're really good at that." Indigo smiled.

"And you can too. There's a lot to do. I would always check with Pine to see what there is to do." The duo nodded as she looked through her pack and stood up. "I'll show you what everything does and we'll go from there." They grinned as they followed her.

"Wow!" Pine grinned at the pictures Beige gave her. "Excellent work as always, Beige. And you two did great on your first day." The duo grinned as Pine turned around. "I think it's safe to give you these, don't you agree, Beige?" She held up two devices. Indigo smiled.

"They'll be in better hands than Maple." The assisting professor huffed as he left the tent. Pine gave the two girls each a device.

"These are Pokedexes. They'll help you when you have to identify pokemon around you. These are fresh from being made just yesterday morning." Velvet took hers with a smile while curiosity crossed Cream's face as she grasped hers. "Welcome to the Dexters." Velvet grinned.

"Thanks!" Pine nodded as she turned to Beige.

"I'll go get them settled down, ok? See you tomorrow." The leading Dexter nodded as she went out. Pine led them to a larger tent. Several areas were cut off. She showed them to one near the back. "Sadly this is all we have, so you'll have to share." Velvet gazed at it.

"It'll work for me. Thanks." Cream smiled as they waved at the professor as she went to another area. She then gulped.

"A little small, but at least it's not what everyone else has." Velvet smiled as she got settled on a bed. She sighed.

"See you in the morning, Cream."

"Yeah..."
