Chapter 17

The blue sky that stretched high in the air and the birds that flew high while chirping gave the serenity that Aoi hoped for. After all the things that had happened at school earlier, this is what she really needs now. Some tranquillity and quiet atmosphere.

'How nice...' She thought, breathing in the fresh air on that sunny day. 'Oh, how wonderful it would be if I could enjoy a day like this every single day' She grinned.

Regardless, as soon as her mind drifted to the things that often happened to her at school, it made her hopeful that such a thing, perhaps, will come true. It would be nice if the reality she was facing right now is actually a dream she could have woken up from. Emitting a small sigh, she instantly shakes her head, driving away from the negative thoughts.

"Ah! Come to think of it..." She muttered in a low voice. Aoi turned slightly to the man who is now walking side by side with her, his head bowed slightly down to hide his true identity from the public eyes. His somewhat hidden pink hair swayed every time he took a step forward, almost mesmerising Aoi with his good looks.

'Hmm...' She wonders about the man's presence in front of her school despite the fact, that she is waiting for her grey-haired friend, Gaku. As soon as she gets a message from her friend that he's getting closer, she really believes that Gaku is about to appear from the corner of the school wall fence but instead, the center of Trigger is the one who comes to her aid. 'I wonder why'

"Take a picture, it lasts longer," Tenn said sarcastically as he teases the girl.

Realizing that she has been staring at the man for quite a time, Aoi quickly turned her gaze away. Her cheeks burn from the embarrassment. "S-Sorry, it's not my intention to staring at you or anything. I-It just..."

"Why am I with you and not Gaku? Is that what you are thinking?" He asked exactly what Aoi wished to ask. The teenager bounced her head quickly. "I'm sure Gaku didn't tell you about this but he... kinda owes me."

Aoi tilted her head slightly, getting somewhat confused from his words as she raised one of her eyebrows. "He owes you?"

"Yes and that is a date with you," he replied bluntly as if the said thing didn't carry any significant meaning meanwhile for Aoi, that one word is enough to make her face explode into a bright red colour.

"A d-date with me?! W-Why?" As soon as she finished the words, she quickly cupped her mouth as she facing her head to another way. Slapping both cheeks a little hard, she scolds herself for stuttering. 'Don't be girlish, Aoi! He's just playing with you. Don't be fooled by his sweet words'

Taking a deep breath, she began to regain her composure. She looked at Tenn with a serious face. "I know that's not the reason why you came to pick me up. There must be another reason for that, right?"

The pink-haired man just let out a little humming and did not cast a glance at the teenager. To be honest, he wasn't that amazed by the courageous attitude she showed him and with the bad ordeals she had gone through before, these are just small things that don't need to be magnified. Still, in silent, Tenn just goes on to walk forward, bringing Aoi to start to feel doubtful of the man's real intentions. As hard as her heart told her to go away from there and leave the man all by himself, she knows that a part of herself too wants to know the reason why.

While Aoi was diligently entertaining her thoughts, she didn't realize that she had strayed far ahead of Tenn. "Where do you think you're going?", Tenn asked. His voice awakened Aoi who was so engrossed in her thoughts.

"Huh?" Aoi twirled her head back and reached the man before gaping at the small shop they were standing in front of. "A coffee shop?" She tilted her head slightly, wondering why they were there. She looked up at Tenn. "Why are we here?", She asked. Her voice no longer stutter.

Tenn smiled. "You want to know why I want to date you, don't you?"

"Wrong. Actually, you don't want to date me, aren't you?" replied Aoi.

"Hmm~ You can say that too" He let out a few chuckles as he opens the door wide, gesturing her to come in first. Aoi accepted the invitation and walked into the store, followed by Tenn at the back.

As soon as they found a suitable seat and also sheltered from other customers, a waiter came to their desk and took the orders, completely unaware of Tenn's true identity. Then, he walked away. Aoi swallowed hard, her hands fidgeting. Honestly, she felt a little nervous to hear the main reason the man did that. Making an agreement with Gaku that he wants to date her and take her in front of her school which he doesn't want anyone other than Gaku and her co-workers to know about the problems she always faces at school. There are so many things that have occurred to her since she was taken by the Takanashi family and if possible, she doesn't want to make her father and sister feel anxious. After all, they're the only family she has.

"You seem nervous"

Tenn's words startled her. She turned her gaze to the other direction. "Well, yes. Uhh... How much do you know about my problem... or, did Gaku-san tell you anything about me?" She asked slowly.

"Ah, you mean about your problem at school? That one?" Aoi nodded her head. "Then my answer is yes!"  Tenn replied with a cheerful smile as if he was happy with the matter. Aoi leaned back on her seat, sighing heavily. "Don't worry. It wasn't his intention to tell me about it. In fact, I was the one who forced him to tell it."

"Ughh... How do you know he wants to pick me up?"

"It's easy. We were sitting and chatting with the three of us at the bar and suddenly, his phone rings in indicates an incoming message. After that, he said that he had to go to the school where Ryuu and I could guess, he wanted to go to your school. So, I asked him why because it is still early and your school hours may have just started. Plus, it doesn't make sense as to why he wants to pick you."

"And then, you force him to tell everything? That's what happened, isn't it?" She narrowed her eyes towards him.

Tenn just snickered, indicating that Aoi's guess just now is correct. "Well, what is the real reason you did that? If possible, I want to get out of here as soon as I can because I am still dressed in school uniform and that will kinda.. affect my school."

"I have expected you to say that, so Gaku has prepared something for you. It's likely because I'm a stubborn, things like this... somewhat have been included in the list. Take this bag and go change it in the toilet at the back." He handed a paper bag to Aoi and cautiously, she took it from his hand and peeked a little inside. "You didn't give me weird clothes, did you?" Tenn shrugged his shoulders. "Don't ask me. Gaku bought it. Assuming he knows your taste, I just send it to here."

Aoi eyeing him suspiciously. "All right, I guess I'll just take it and go change. Wait a minute," she said before standing up and leave the table.

"Mitsuki-san, is it okay for us to follow them? Isn't it a bit rude?" Sogo spoke up after so long the five of them followed Aoi and Tenn which eventually led to a coffee shop. The rather antique exterior appearance of the store clearly shows that the store is rarely visited by the public. With its walls made of hard dark brown woods and fresh green plants neatly arranged in front of the store, the decor adds some radiance and unique features to the store but unfortunately, that isn't what most people nowadays are looking for especially in this modern city. Again, with the growing trend, they doubt there will be people visiting the place except for adults who are in their late 50s or maybe, people who like things like this. Who knows, right?

"This is the right place for an idol like him to hide his identity. How clever," Mitsuki said, not answering the question given by Sogo, causing the white purple-haired man to release a small sigh.

Yamato giggled as he placed his hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it. I know you feel guilty but think about it, we don't want bad things to happen to Aoi. Plus, she's with an idol. Many bad things can happen to her if we don't save her." He said, extremely hoping the words that came out of his mouth had some meaning in it and not himself who's just talking gibberish.

Sogo goes silent for a moment before giving his leader a cheerful smile. "Thank you, Yamato-san. I feel much better than before." Yamato rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Ah... S-Sure thing!"

"Where does Aoi-chan want to go?" Riku's question made them both aware of the situation they were facing. Yamato and Sogo quickly turned their gaze into the store, just to see Tenn alone in his seat. No girl presence could be seen near him.

"Maybe she went to the toilet?" Nagi made a suggestion. "She brought a paper bag with her. So, I'm sure she went to the toilet to... maybe change her clothes? Perhaps..."

"Are you sure about that, Nagi?" Yamato spoke up. His hand adjusted his black glasses on the bridge of his nose and watched his pink-haired idol friend who was in the cafe. "Strange. He's not the type of guy who likes to play with women's feelings, isn't he Riku?"

Riku was startled and immediately shook his head, waving off both his hands. "O-Of course! Tenn-nii isn't that k-kind of person..." Mitsuki sweat-dropped at his statement. "Why are you stuttering?"

"I do not!" He tried to defend himself. Even so, he wasn't that sure of the truth he had just convey. He could feel that his twin brother wasn't such a person, who liked to play with female feelings for entertainment or that was what he was thinking. He didn't know how Tenn's personality nowadays because they had been separated for so long. Riku lowered his head down, feeling blue as he remembered back his childhood.

"All right, if you say so!" Mitsuki patted his hair gently, throwing the boy a wide smile. "Hmm... What should we do now?" He returned to his detective mode, holding his chin as he closed his eyes.

"I still don't believe it that we are acting as detectives," Sogo said, releasing a complaint. He remembered Mitsuki's words before the five of them began their investigative work. Although, what is happening is that the five of them are technically, stalking both of their friends.

'You all will like it very much because we will be detective.. is what he said but I think this is a bad idea' He thought.

"Let's barge in!" Yamato shout out. His clenched hands were raised high into the air as if rebel. Nagi and Sogo were stunned to hear his reckless suggestion from a mature man like him. Mitsuki ponders over his suggestion for a moment before clapping his hands. "Ah, great idea!" His face looked excited, his big round oranger eyes glittering in full spirits.

"W-Wha...?" Riku shook his head. Both hands crossed, forming an 'x'. "That's not a good idea, Mitsuki-san!"

Nagi nodded. "I agree with Riku. There must be another way, right?"

The two adults looked at each other before saying 'nope!' emphasizing the sound ‘p’ in their words. Then, without hearing any objections from their juniors, Yamato and Mitsuki pulled the three of them by their arms around. Indirectly, dragging them to enter the antique coffee shop.

Tenn put back his ceramic cup after sipping freshly brewed hot coffee. He looked at Aoi again, a small smile carved back on his lips. "So, what do you say? Can you help me?"

Aoi didn't speak. She just hummed in response. Her fingers twirl over the lips of the white ceramic cup in front of her. She looked at the cup for a long time. Its bright white colour shows it contrasts with the coffee's colour inside and the aroma... Aoi could never hate the aroma as soon as the coffee is brewed. The fresh and somewhat bitter scent. It calms her down. Sometimes, she would have Gaku to make her a cup of hot coffee after the store closed. The two of them would sit in front of the shop window, staring at the scenery outside and chatting about whatever came to their mind. Thinking back to the wonderful memories she had while at the store, Aoi smiled a little. Then, she regained her awareness of the situation that was then with Tenn. "Sorry, I kinda daydreaming just now."

Tenn let out a chuckle. "I can see that. So?"

"So..." Aoi held out her right hand. "I guess why not."

Tenn was pleased to hear the answer and immediately, shook the girl's hand. Not until a moment later...

"What are you two doing?"

"?!!"
