Chapter 1
The weather that day was beautiful! It was very different from the day before when it was raining and the sky was dark and cloudy as if, the weather will turn your emotions into a sad one just by looking at it.
The girl sighed quietly. This weather only reminds her of the tragedy she experienced in the past.
And, it made her heart bleed into sorrow.
"It's getting late. You have to go home now, right? We don't want to make your family anxious," Gaku said as he moved and stands beside the girl.
He threw a glance at his coworker. His attention seems to be drawn to her stunning crystal blue eyes and straight, short, black hair.
It's so alluring.
However, who could have thought that such a pretty girl had gone through so many cruel things in her life? How could such a small girl have such a worst history?
"Ah, sure! Just give me a little more time to be alone, can you?" Aoi said in a slightly hoarse voice. Perhaps, she just finished crying in the bathroom.
Gaku sighed softly. His hands began to reach the girl's head and gently ruffles her hair. "Don't take it too long. It'll be a problem for us if your family starts asking where you are." He gave her a small smile.
Aoi nodded her head, understandably. She looked up and returned the smile to the grey-haired guy.
After that, Gaku went to leave her alone in front of the big window of the Soba shop. In silence, he wished the girl was okay. His heart aches just by looking at her sad face every day.
Doesn't she feel happy with her new family?
_______________
"I'm home"
"Aoi! Thank goodness, you're back!" Aoi raised her head and saw a long blonde girl with a pair of red eyes speeding towards her. Her eyes were clear of anxiety. Tsumugi; her adopted sister was quick to hold her tight.
"Uhh... Are you worried?" asked Aoi, slightly hesitant.
Tsumugi let go of the hug and hold her sister's shoulders. "What's with that question? Of course, I'm worried about you! Father also, though he's not home yet. He says he has some paperwork he needs to take care of."
"O-oh, I thought you wouldn't. My bad. It's hard to adapt to a new surrounding," she replied.
"No, it's okay. You know father and I will always think about you every time you're away from us. It's because we're afraid that some bad things could happen to you when you're not with us. So, keep in mind that everywhere you are, you are always in our thoughts."
"Alright. I guess I'm still thinking that I'm not fit in for this family" She shrugged her shoulder.
"Sigh!" Tsumugi looked at her blue eyes softly. "Listen, Aoi! You are now part of the Takanashi family. Forget about everything that happened in the past, otherwise, you will be trapped at that moment. You have to live in the future because I believe a bright life awaits you."
Seeing her older sister says it out loud as her eyes burn with passion, Aoi couldn't help but laugh. The blond-haired girl goes silent, stunned as it was the first time she had seen her younger sister laugh or even, smile. To be honest, her smile was beautifully charming and her heart melted just by looking at it.
"How come you be so confident?" She asked with giggles accompanying her voice.
"I'm always confident! You should be as well. Oh!" As soon as an idea came to her mind, her eyes began to shine. "Let's both try to be confident."
"W-what?! No way... I'm not fit for that personality. Guess you will have to be confident alone," she said with a shaking head.
"Oh, come on! It must be fun", pleaded Tsumugi.
She doesn't care if her sister doesn't want to be as confident as she is. It's a silly idea. All she wanted to be was for her new sister to smile and start talking to herself like everyone else. She didn't want to see her sister become a loner and keep away from others just because she was reminded of her past.
And this is a good first step. She doesn't want to be arrogant, but she sure is a good starter.
