Chapter four: So the training begins
Even though it feels like it has been forever since Foxy brought me to the gym. I know in reality it only has a been a few hours. The training he mentioned was mainly her making me work out and even minor weapons training. They totally are training us, delinquents, correctly. Giving us even more skills to do bad things to others. Such a smart idea. I already feel faint, but Foxy won't let up. I think she's just worried about me going on a mission so soon. I have no idea exactly what these "missions" consist of but from the sound of it. It has to be dangerous. The streets were dangerous too though. At least here I have a warm bed and food. All I have to do is save up enough money and once I do. I'll just leave or at least find a way to go. I doubt they would just let me walk away.
"Alright, we're done with the first portion of your training," Foxy says looking like she hasn't even broken a sweat. I, on the other hand, have sweat dripping all down my body. You don't have time to work out when you're trying to survive. Then I realized what she said.
"What the fuck do you mean just the first portion!" I exclaim while gasping for air.
" Today we were just doing the first steps to getting you ready for the harder stuff," Foxy smirks as I try to catch my breath.
" This isn't the hard part?" I ask incredulously.
" Nope, you still have a few different sessions of training," Foxy says shaking at her head at me.
" Shouldn't you just be training me on enhancing the skills you need from me?" I ask with a brow raised.
" That will be the last thing we train you on, right now we need to build up skills you don't have," Foxy says while examining her nails.
" Are you finally done torturing baby face?" An all to familiar annoying voice asks from behind, causing me to jump.
I turn and glare at Ace, who stares at me with that stupid cocky smirk. I can't believe I'm stuck on a team with the likes of him. I feel like by the end of this, I'll end up killing him.
" It depends on what you want with him." She says eyeing him distrustfully.
" Well, Chief wants me to train him on the next portion." Ace says with an annoyed expression on his face.
" Why the fuck would Chief let an asshole like you near him," Foxy growls while crossing her arms
" We both know that hacking and breaking into safes isn't your strong suit." Ace smirks at her enraged expression.
" You better treat him right or.....
" Don't worry Foxy, I'm not going to hurt baby face." Ace rolls his eyes.
" Are you ever going to give up that stupid nickname?" I ask as Foxy storms out of the room.
" Never even if you don't have a baby face one day, I'll never be able to stop calling you that." He actually smiles at me, and I feel a strange feeling in my stomach. I must just be nervous because he hardly ever smiles.
" Now come on baby face, I have a few things I have to show you." His smile is once again replaced with a smirk. I find myself already missing what must be a rare glimpse of a smile.
I follow him begrudgingly to a room full of very high tech computers. As went enter, he stops and inhales slowly.
" Do you see this glorious room baby face?" He asks as he exhales.
" Yeah, what about it?" I question sending him a strange look.
" This my friend is paradise." Ace smirks mischievously.
" Looks more like a bunch of distracting technology," I said eyeing the computers with disdain. I never have been a fan of technology even when I did have it. I just felt like people become too invested in it and forget the outside world. That causes people to lose their morals. Thinking this I eye Ace. Huh, that would actually explain a lot about him.
" You just say that because you've been to poor to afford one." Ace glares at me.
Wow, he must really be protective of his technology. It's nice to see that he does care about something though. Makes him seem a bit more human. Of course, his caring for technology over humans doesn't really surprise me.
" I just don't see the point in having one." I shrug.
I feel the annoyance coming off him in waves. Man, I really to learn how to keep my mouth shut. I'm almost as bad as Foxy, and that's saying something. There's just something about Ace that makes it hard to lie to him. The thought of being around him already scares me enough. Now I have to worry about accidentally telling him stuff, that I don't want too.
" Well I don't see the point in having a baby face thief on our team, so I guess we're both confused." He says bitterly.
" Whatever don't be salty because I don't mindlessly agree with you." I roll my eyes.
He has a surprised look on his face at my comment. Like he was used to people just agreeing with him. Which I know can't be true because I see people arguing with him all the time.
" Come on baby face let me show how to break into a safe." He smirks at me and this time I feel flustered by it.
I sit down at a computer, not noticing the knowing look he's sending me. As he gets a little to close for comfort and teaches me the way of hacking.
