Chapter One
She looked at him, her eyes all red and puffy from her meltdown that included lots of screaming, crying (perfect storm. Sorry I had to), expletives (and lots of them), and Grant was almost one hundred percent sure that she had bruised every muscle in his left arm from her hitting him repeatedly. (He wanted to give her a hug to try and calm her down, but she was not having that.)
The whites behind Katie's green irises were bloodshot, and her nose was bright red. She hugged him, and he wrapped his arms around her, and kissed the top of her head.
"I can't do it anymore." She was trembling. "I-I can't..." Grant took her face in his hands, and gently wiped away any of the stray eyelashes that lay limp on her cheeks.
"Don't listen to what they say about you," he said, looking at her with sympathy in his eyes, "all that matters is what you say about yourself."
She rubbed her eyes, and shrugged. "It's not like it matters anyway."
"Yes it does." Grant murmured. "What matters is that I love you, your cast mates love you, your family loves you, and your fans love you. Most importantly, that you should love yourself."
She smiled weakly. "How do you always know what to say to make me feel better?"
"'Cause that's how I roll." He winked at her.
She chuckled. "Never say that again."
"Whatever you say, Katherine." He gave her a cheeky grin.
She rolled her eyes. "Don't say that either."
"What? Katherine? That's your name, isn't it?"
"Well yes, but still."
"But still what?"
"Just don't call me that."
"Then what do you want me to call you? Katie Cat? Cassie? Cassito the Burrito?"
She laughed out loud at the last one. "Katie's fine."
"I'm totally changing your contact name to 'Cassito the Burrito.'"
"Please don't."
"Yes I will!"
She rolled her eyes at him. "Why are you like this?"
He smirked at her. "Isn't why you love me?"
She scoffed. "I guess."
"I have an idea."
"What?"
"Let's go out on a date tonight."
She nodded. "Yes!"
