Chapter Two

That night, Laurel ran around her apartment trying to find something decent to wear.

She had whipped open the door of her closet, pulling out eight dresses at a time.

The first one she had pulled out was a blood red dress that fell to her knees. She tried to on, and it was a little too tight. When she bent over to start pulling on heels, the back of her dress popped open. "Damn it." She cursed to herself.

The second dress she tried on was white, and was open backed. It was a little too big, and the sleeve kept falling down Laurel's shoulder.

She sighed as she tried on a third dress. It was black, and it was a little shorter than the others. It fit her perfectly, and she grinned at herself in the mirror. She pulled on black heels, and applied makeup. She brushed her brunette hair, and it was almost seven o'clock.

When seven o'clock rolled around, Barry still wasn't at her apartment. Laurel had thought that Barry had ditched her.

It was seven thirty when he showed up.

There was a knock on her door, and she scurried to open it.

"Oh, uh hi." Barry said, awkwardly.

Laurel smiled at him. "For the fastest man alive, your timing is horrendous." She chuckled.

"Yeah, I'm sorry." Barry said. "I was trying to find something nice."

"You look handsome," Laurel said, blushing.

Barry awkwardly grinned. "Your face... is pretty." Laurel bit her lip to try and contain her laughter.

"Thank you," She grinned.

"Let's go." Barry said, holding his hand out for her to take. She took it, and they walked down the hallway, hand in hand.

When they arrived at the restaurant, they were taken to their seats. Their seats were on the second floor on the balcony, and they had a nice view of the street down below.

The air was warm, and Barry shrugged off his jacket and hung it to the back of his chair.

He took a seat, and smiled at her. "I'm glad you didn't reject me." He said.

"Barry, I would never reject you." Laurel said, a small smile dancing on her lips.

The song playing was a Taylor swift song, Laurel recognized.

It was a newer song, so Laurel wasn't familiar with it.

'Cause my baby's fit like a daydream walking with his head down;

I'm the one he's walking to

Call it what you want yeah, call it what you want to.

Their date was ruined as rain started pouring down. Barry grabbed his jacket, and wrapped it around her.

They ran down the street, and Laurel stumbled on the sidewalk. She managed to not end up on her face, and she gripped Barry's hand tight.

Laurel unlocked her door, and they walked inside her apartment. "I'm going to get changed."

She went into her room and changed into grey sweatpants, and a white t shirt. She walked out of her room, and Barry's face lit up at the sight of her. She had taken off her makeup, and she faintly smiled at her. "Laurel Lance, looking beautiful as always." He stood, and kissed her forehead. "I'm going to go home, and get a change of clothes, and I'll be back."

She nodded, and watched as he sped out of her apartment.
