Chapter 1
Ochako POV
"Ochako, you almost done packing?" Dad asked, poking his head into my room.
"Yeah!" I said, zipping up my bag. "Just finished."
"Good." Dad sat down on my bed. "I'm really going to miss you Ochako. Me and your mother."
"Dad, I'm only going for a week. I'm not going off to college." I giggled. "Besides, even if I was, I would still want to help you and Mom as much as possible."
"I know. Which is why, we got enough money to get you this." Dad held out a small necklace that looked kinda like a star with a pink diamond in the middle.
"Dad... I can't accept this. Money is tightly as it is already. You should've used that money for food."
"We have enough food. Besides, we bought this a long time ago, before money became an issue. We've been waiting for the right time to give it to you. With all the trouble your class has been getting into and all, now seemed appropriate."
"Dad..." I tried to protest as Dad clipped it around my neck.
"No arguing. We bought it for you." Dad smiled sadly. "Let's go. You don't wanna be late for the bus, right?"
I nodded. "Right."
Soon, we were in the train, heading for the station closest to school. Izuku and Teyna were meeting me there, so we wouldn't be alone walking there.
"Now, you do have everything right? Bug spray? Sun tan lotion? Your suit?"
"Yeah Dad, I have everything. Just... Don't embarrass me in front of my friends, okay?"
"Why? What friends are neeting you at the station?"
Oh God... "Teyna and Deku."
"Deku? Why do you call one of your friends useless?"
"His real name is Izuku. One of our classmates went to school with hin and deemed him Deku, but to me, it sounds like 'You can do it', so he lets me call him that."
"Izuku? Izuku Midoriya? You have a crush on him, don't you?"
"Dad!" I hissed.
"I'm only asking because you never stop talking about him."
"Don't say that in front of him, please."
"Okay, okay, but anwser me one question: is he cute?"
"Dad!"
"I'm only asking because the cute ones are the most dangerous."
"He wouldn't hurt a fly. He may be powerful, but Deku knows how to handle his strength." I said, smiling.
The train stopped as we walked out, Teyna standing there, looking at his watch with his mother.
"Hey Iida!"
Teyna smiled when he looked at me. "Uraraka, on time, as usual. Now, where's Midoriya..."
"We didn't seem him in the train." I said, seeing Izuku's familiar green mop poking out from the hill.
"I'm here, I'm here!" He panted, his mother close behind, both out of breath. Classic Deku... "I slept in late again. Sorry."
"So you're Izuku?" Dad asked.
"Oh God... Here we go." I muttered.
"Yes sir! Izuku Midoriya!"
"You take care of my daughter, you hear? If she even has one scratch, you will feel pain."
I was probably cherry red, judging from Teyna's failing attempt to keep his laughter inside.
"Nothing I haven't felt before sir." Izuku assured him, turning to me and Teyna. "You guys ready to go?"
"Yes! Let's!" Teyna said. "Good bye mother."
"Bye Dad." I hugged Dad. "Don't get into trouble while I'm gone, okay?"
"Shouldn't I be telling you that?"
"I'm gonna be surrounded by super heroes, Deku, Teyna, and everyone else the entire time. What could go wrong?"
"Do you really want me to anwser that Ochako?"
"No... Well, let's go guys!" I said, grabbing my bag and dragging Izuku behind me.
"See ya later Mom!" Izuku yelled.
"Oh boy, I thought your dad would never let us leave." Teyna said, taking a deep breath.
"He can be... Over protective sometimes. Sorry about him Deku."
"It's fine Uraraka." Izuku smiled. "Like I wouldn't try to protect one of my friends."
Did... I just get friend zoned? Why am I thinking like this!? I don't actually like Izuku, right?
"Right. Friends. And I would try my best to protect you too... Pal..." Why am I so awkward?
Teyna slightly laughed as he checked the time. "We're gonna be late!"
"Dude, we still have fifteen minutes."
"But a good student always-"
"Gets there ten minutes beforehand. Right." Izuku finished, setting down his suitcase. "Simple solution. Uraraka, hop on my back."
"What?"
"Come on. You don't weigh much, and it'll get us there quicker to satisfy Iida's mind."
"... Okay, fine. But hold on tightly. I know you just got control of your quirk and all, but I still don't wanna die."
Izuku's laugh was pure joy. "I know, I know. I wouldn't kill you on purpose."
"On purpose?"
"Bad choice of words. Just hop on."
I hopped into Izuku's back as he help our bags in one hand, gripping my ankles in the other. "Um... Hold on, okay?"
I nodded, leaning closer to Izuku and put my arms around his chest. "Got it."
Izuku took off running, Teyna close behind, struggling to keep up. In fact, the two of us beat Teyna there, Mr. Aizawa giving us a weird look.
"Uraraka... Midoriya... What's going on?" He asked, attempting to hide in his bandages.
"Iida thought we were gonna be late, so Izuku had me hop on his back to soothe Iida's mind." I explained.
"And where is Iida?"
"He was still behind us. I guess I went a little faster than I anticipated..." Izuku said awkwardly.
"Here he comes." I said as Teyna came running, panting as he came.
"Guys... This wasn't a race." Teyna panted.
"Sorry Iida..." Izuku apologized. "I wasn't trying to go fast. You know my newfound speed is unpredictable..."
"I know, just giving you two love birds a hard time." Teyna smirked.
"We're not lovebirds!" I complained. "First my dad, and now you!?"
"Wait, that's what that conversation was about?"
"Maybe..."
"Oh God..."
We were both firetrucks, causing Mr. Aizawa to stiffle a laugh.
"Well, seeing as you three are the first people here, go pick your seats."
"Um... Okay..." Izuku said awkwardly. "Ladies first?"
"Or you could go first?"
"I insist."
"And I insist too."
"Oh for Pete's sake!" Teyna said, shoving us both in. "Take a seat already!"
I slowly walked over to a seat by a window, Izuku going to the seat behind me.
I grabbed my earbuds out of my bag and listening to music.
After a second, Izuku perked up. "No way, you listen to them too!?"
"Huh?"
"Um... You didn't put your earbuds in all the way..."
"Oh..."
"It's fine though." Izuku said, laughing. "I like 3-nen E-gumi Utatan as well."
"I thought I was the only one!"
"Same." Izuku held out a hand. "You mind?"
"Uh... Sure." I handed him an earbud as everyone else slowly filed in.
Once everyone was in, we were off on our summer vacation of more hero training.
