two.
Delilah Quinn didn't set out to be an actress, but when she saw that her favourite television show, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, was holding casting auditions for their second season she knew she had to go. She never expected to get a call back, yet mere weeks after her second audition she received a call to tell her she'd gotten the part.
Multiple meetings followed, she had to get an agent and set up professional social media profiles. Despite having multiple fan accounts, she sadly had to de-activate them, but she knew deep down she'd never be able to move on from being a fan of her favourite shows and actors.
Living in Los Angeles it was presumed everyone wanted to be famous, but Delilah enjoyed staying at home the most and writing in her room, whether it was for her first novel or fan fiction she hoped no one would ever find. When she spotted the casting call for TFATWS she had a gut feeling that she had to give it a go, after all, she couldn't give up the opportunity to meet the one and only Sebastian Stan if she just so happened to run into him at the auditions.
Sadly, she didn't run into him at the auditions, but now that she'd gotten a role on the show her entire being was filled with nerves at the thought of working with him.

The day before her first cast read-through, Delilah was on her way back to her apartment after picking up some groceries when she saw a gift basket outside her door. She grabbed the top and took it inside, placing it on her kitchen table. Completely ignoring her groceries, she unwrapped the cellophane from around the basket and spotted a note. Her heart nearly stopped as she glanced over it, she needed to re-read it a few times before it sunk in. The shows logo was at the top and a handwritten note below...
Delilah!
Welcome to the team, we are so excited to meet you. I've heard great things about you, myself and Anthony can't wait to start filming the show again. See you soon :)
Beneath the note was signed by the one and only Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. Dropping the note in shock, she thought about the fact Sebastian had sat down and written her a note... her first instinct was to pick up her phone and message her group chat but she forgot she couldn't anymore. Instead, she took a photo of the note and gift basket with a crew hoodie and other merchandise and posted it from her new Instagram account... she couldn't believe her first official post was to thank Sebastian and Anthony for a gift basket, she tagged them both and closed her phone not thinking about anything else apart from trying on the hoodie which was extremely soft.
Curling up on her couch in her new hoodie, she decided to re-watch one of her favourite Marvel films to calm her nerves before her first day. Instead, it made her even more nervous as she realised what she had to live up to. Taking a few deep breaths she remembered that she'd gotten this part because the directors believed in her. Slowly she began to fall asleep on the couch, it felt like she hadn't been asleep that long and the alarm on her phone to signal her first day started blaring.
Bleary eyed, she reached over to her phone to silence the alarm and was surprised to see over a thousand notifications from Instagram. When she opened the app she realised she'd gained over twenty thousand followers over night just from one post. Scrolling through her notifications her heart nearly stopped when she saw the words 'imsebastianstan started following you'. She nearly choked on air, rubbing her eyes and checking it again she couldn't believe it. She saw a few other usernames she recognised, Anthony Mackie, Chris Evans and even Tom Holland. All of this just because she'd joined the MCU? She couldn't believe this was happening to a fan like herself.
With a start she realised she had to get ready for work. She wasn't used to getting up so early, after quitting her job in a bookstore that usually started at 10am, a 7am start seemed like hell — but for this job she'd get up at anytime.
The production had emailed her prior to the read through and let her know to wear whatever she wanted, something comfortable, whilst the cast bonded and read the season 2 script.
Opting for a cream oversized hoodie, leggings and pair of sneakers, she grabbed her backpack and phone and headed out of her apartment to her car. The whole drive to the studio where the show was going to be filmed, she couldn't shake her nerves. Compared to everyone she knew was going to be there, she had no acting experience at all so everything was new to her.
Driving through the large gates of the studio, surrounded by cast and crews of different projects rushing around, it dawned on her that this was real.
Following the directions she'd been emailed, she found her parking space that had her name on it. She hated to be that person, but she immediately took out her phone and snapped a picture and uploaded it to her Instagram story.
Getting out of her car, she took a moment to breathe it all in, turning around on the spot admiring the giant buildings and sets around her. It felt like she was living inside a fan fiction.
She headed to the building where the read-throughs were taking place, a lovely receptionist pointed her in the direction of the room and as she stepped inside she realised she was only the second person to arrive. With a sigh of relief, she was glad she wasn't late — she always had an overwhelming fear of being the last one to show up.
Hearing her footsteps, a woman at the front of the room turned and smiled, Delilah recognised her from the panel at the auditions.
"Delilah! So lovely to see you again, I'm Sydney, one of the producers. I oversee... well, everything," she laughed, "please take a seat, make yourself comfortable. I think you're up here." She pointed to one of the tables with a name tag.
Delilah spotted her name at the top of the table and sat down, her eyes were drawn to the name tag besides her.
Sebastian Stan.
"Daunting, isn't it?" Sydney said softly, "I assure you everyone on the cast are sweethearts.... especially him," She nodded to the name tag Delilah was staring at, "if you ever need anything you come see me, okay? We girls have got to stick together." She gave her a reassuring smile, which Delilah reciprocated.
Ten minutes passed and Sydney signed, "trust the stars to be late."
A few other actors she recognised from season 1 showed up, introducing themselves to Delilah, and making her feel welcome.
Suddenly someone's laughter filled the corridor outside the room, she could recognise that laugh from anywhere. Delilah could feel her palms sweating. Moments passed and they finally walked in together, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, laughing and joking with each other.
"Nice of you both to finally show up." Sydney said.
"Sydney, I'm sorry, traffic was hell." Anthony gave her a cheeky smile as he entered.
Sebastian walked behind him wearing a loose fitting sweater and jeans, saying his hello's to everyone and welcoming them back for the season, until his eyes finally landed on Delilah.
For her, it felt like time stopped as she saw a smile flicker across his lips, his blue eyes crinkling slightly as her observed her.
"Hello," he said softly, taking a seat besides her, "you must be Delilah."
"Yes... that's me," Delilah slapped herself mentally, she couldn't believe she couldn't think of anything smart to say to the Sebastian Stan? "It's nice to finally meet you, Sebastian."
Besides him, Anthony sat down and waved at her, "hey there Delilah..." he sang cheerily.
Sebastian gave her an apologetic smile, "you'll get used to him." He whispered.
Sydney cleared her throat, "Alright, everyone's here... welcome back everyone, and welcome to the lovely Delilah to season 2 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier! Soon I'll be handing out the scripts for Episode 7, please don't lose them or post them online...."
She reeled off what the plan was for the next few weeks of read throughs and rehearsals, Delilah was trying desperately hard to concentrate considering Sebastian Stan was mere inches away from her. He was doodling on his script whilst listening to Sydney, when the clock finally struck 1pm he wrote a message on his script and slid it over to her, 'lunch? Anthony's buying, don't tell him :)'
Delilah read it and smiled, picking up her pen and scribbling beneath it, 'sure :)'
She caught a slight smirk play on his lips, until Sydney spoke again, "alright everyone, take an hours lunch then back here for 2pm... we'll begin the read through then."
