Long ago, there was a group of nomads. Within this group, there was a family whose husband was the chief, leader of the tribe of barely a hundred heads. The status of the chief was handed down to him through their patriarchal system. And so, one day, he would give that title to his son, Urien.
Growing up, Urien had to sit with his parents as they had their meetings with other adults. They discussed their course of actions every few months for the needed movements. As the seasons and weather changed, their sources of food moved and changed as well. Urien was not able to enjoy his youth with the other children. His father feared his child would prioritize the immature leisure over the required planning.

One day, his father and the other men went off to hunt for the tribe's food. Urien stayed with his mother in their tent. Urien wanted to go out to play while his father was gone. His mother denied his wishes. "Do you know what you have to do?" His mother asked him softly. Urien's eyes rolled towards the chink of the tent's entry flaps. His ears tuned into the laughter and roars of the other children playing. His hand lifted, reaching for the outside. His mother pressed his chin, pulling his face towards her. His eyes stayed attached to the exit. "You will," his mother whispered, "but not now." Urien looked at her. She gave a motherly smile. It was warming. "I promise. You will get to play with them all you want, but for now, you must learn everything you can." She gave him a hug. He nodded, agreeing and digging his face in her chest. She felt her clothes soak with his tears.

Years quickly passed as Urien stayed by his parents' side, learning, studying the ways of the meetings. He wasn't able to submit ideas, but occasionally would be given a chance to make a comment on the matter. Despite the chance, his words were disregarded. It was simply a time for him to practice speaking in front of others. Aside from the discussions, his father would also bring him along to scout the land. Urien watched the animals run across the field as his father hugged him close on his father's horse. As his father talked, Urien made mental notes of the animals' movements, settlements, and the surrounding environments.

Once back from the field trip, Urien would ask for the maps. He traced his fingers on the surface of the leather map. Each stroke marked their movement, the animals' movements. His mother asked him, "What are you doing?" "Summer," He whispered to himself, "Spring." With each season spoken, he moved his finger. His mother's eyes followed along, curious of his actions. A smile appeared on his face as he shouted, "I got it!"

In the next meeting, Urien asked to talk. When allowed, he grabbed out the map and placed it in front of him and the other six members, including his father. He gave his proposal. A plan to make a permanent stay, situated in the middle of their needs: eastward, the animals for their meat, clothes and tools, northwards, the woods for water from the rivers and lakes, fruits, berries, fish, and lumber, and the southward regions for warmth.

The two men under his father laughed at such observations. His father, on the other hand, was unimpressed. They were nomads, and their residency should not be stationary for long periods of time. 'They go where their food go'. Urien rebutted with the fact that a settlement in the right spot could reduce the time needed to travel year-round for all their necessity. They could spend their time on other things. It would be the same, nonetheless. They'd still have a group of people travel the distance to fetch their water or hunt the animals.

His father refused the idea. His mother convinced him to have a vote. This included everyone in the tribe. It ended in Urien's favour.

'Survive the winter. Direct the tribe.' Those were the conditions to create the ideal settlement.

Urien was motivated and determined. He spent the next few days wracking his brain on the plans for winter. The first step to his goal was simple to achieve; the spot he desired for settlement was close by. Afterward, he delegated the tasks of hunting and gathering; the hunting group went westward for the animals, and the gathering group went northeast towards the woods.

In short, he succeeded.

The leadership eventually transitioned to Urien as the tribe elders assisted his duties and responsibilities.

A couple of years passed. The people became accustomed to their work. Urien made plans for each month. He was aware of the people's strengths. He was ready to put them to use. His goal, now, was prosperity.

The tribe became a village. With the stones and minerals from the southern mountains, the village became a small town.

By this time, Urien was old. To celebrate his last breath, the people gathered and prayed for a safe journey to the afterlife. Upon his bed, Urien gazed at the door. The light shining through reminded him of the day with his mother. He smiled at the irony. He wanted to play with the children but instead led the people like what his dad wanted. Yet, he didn't mind. The gathered townspeople, their smiles, and their prayers get him comfort.

He, too, prayed.

In that moment, white light gathered above Urien. Everyone was in awe as it took the form of a woman unlike any other person they've seen. Her long, voluminous golden hair hung just past her shoulders. A golden chest plate covered her bosoms. Her abdomen was exposed, or at least what should've been her abdomen; instead, they were golden bars, jailing a ball of light floating about. Below her waist, she had a long white skirt measuring just above her ankles, exposing her bare feet. And above all else, her skin was blue. A blue that matches the sky. So much so that Urien even thought he was outside.

The being levitated towards Urien. She spoke into his mind, "What is your desire?"

Urien's eyes opened wide. They shook with bewilderment. His mind raced with the thoughts, "Who is she? What is she?" And "What does she mean by 'desire'?"

"Desire... your wants, your likes... your wish." She replied as she read his mind. "What do you desire?"

"My desire..." Urien mouthed as he began to remember his past. From that certain day with his mother, he wanted to play like the other children. From the days of hard work to make the settlement work, he wanted approval from his disappointed father. But those came to pass. Now, he did not know. His eyes caught hold of the people still in the room. His mind reminded him, "prosperity. I want to see my people prosper." Urien was about to speak those words, forgetting that the being could hear his thoughts.

With that, she erected herself. The ball of light within her caged abdomen brightly illuminated. She grabbed hold of her golden bars and spread them open. Retrieving the ball, she announced, "Your desire will be granted." Light filled the room, blinding the people.

Soon, it disappeared. The being was no longer present.

The people resumed their prayers until Urien finally took his rest. Everyone left for now. They needed to plan his burial.

The next day came.

As the sun rose above the town. A man exited the Urien's building. People stopped and talked among themselves, wondering why a person was coming out of there when no one should. Only a minute later did someone, an old friend, recognize the man. The man was no other than Urien himself. Only he was in the state of his young adult self, which he later discovered.

He thought to himself, "This must be her doing. She granted my wish."
