DELANEY JAMES WAS FEARFUL AS SOON AS SHE STEPPED OUT OF HER APARTMENT IN THE MORNING. It had always been that way ever since her parents were murdered in front of her seventeen-year-old eyes on a smelly subway cart during a terrorist attack. She had been the only one left alive, and even then it was only so she could deliver a message to Central City that a faster beginning was in the future. Delaney never understood what that meant, and her life only got more confusing as life drew on and she graduated high school and made way for college. She often reminisces on the day she stepped into a rattling subway cart with her parents and a yellow blur of light zoomed in between her and the other forty-eight passengers. She believed everyone on the car was subject to a much larger plan, but no one believed the girl who said she saw a 'flash' of yellow. 

As Delaney made through the next three years of her life in utter fear, she never expected to unleash a strange power in her veins that ignited every time she got scared. Mind her, that was frequent. She was confused and terrified from where her powers came from. She was hearing about metahumans forming from the particle accelerator explosion but that was years ago. She was wrapped in a blanket of fear and couldn't move.

She wanted comfort and support, but she didn't dare to talk to anyone. She would huddle in a corner when her powers went bizzurk and hoped they wouldn't harm someone. She didn't want anything to happen to others like what happened to her parents. But one day she loses control over it all and she nearly blows the roof of an abandoned warehouse that she stumbled into when her powers were going haywire. She saw the powerful energy coursing up and down her arms like a stream of purple mist. 

Her worst fears were coming true and in no time Barry Allen was at the warehouse with the sight of a fragile and broken twenty-year-old girl screaming in fear. Barry knew she was scared, and he didn't want to hurt her, he knew she couldn't control herself, and he sensed something different in her, something that wasn't darkness. But when he tried to coax the girl into relaxing, she only screamed harder, and her powers increased. She sobbed and cried out, before shuffling underneath a table and cradling her legs together. The energy was too powerful and resulted in Delaney flying across the room where she was left to be carried away by Barry, and locked inside a cell in what used to be the particle accelerator. From there on she stayed in one corner and didn't dare to look up in constant worry that whatever killed her parents was what she was turning into.

After that, it's up to Barry Allen and his team to help this broken girl lift her head and say one word. It's up to them to get her to stay out of her fear long enough to try to control her powers, or else the whole city will come crashing down. And they end up finding out that there is actually a human under there, and she just needed help finding it.

so, i really like this plot. obviously it's going to be slow burn because when barry takes delaney back to star labs and she is in the cell thing, she won't speak, let alone tell anyone her name. it should be an au at the beginning to explain her life and stuff, and then jump into season three AFTER wally finds out he was powers but before he actually gets the costume for kid flash. so, have fun with this one, i'm in love with delaney and how fragile she is.

don't make her like super sarcastic and comedic because she is a quiet, reserved person who broke when her parents died. she isn't a happy camper and is more like a pecissmist than an optimist. wally and delaney are like perfect for each other and i'm just imagining joe as, like, an overprotective dad of delaney because of all the shit she was been through.

also, include flashbacks of when her parents died like barry had in season one. at some point when the get to know her she should tell the team about the subway incident and someone will have to explain to her that harrison wells was eobard and killed them and all that drama.
