SHE WAS AN AVERAGE THIRTY-SIX YEAR OLD WOMAN FROM A SMALL COUNTRY THAT WAS DOMINATED BY MALE STATUS. This nation was called Xiǎo shèng suǒ - meaning 'small sanctuary' and the people that inhabited this land off the east coast of China believed that men were superior and women held the honor of worshiping their entire being and tending to the home while they were away. For Fa Mulan, things should be different, the world is modern enough that women are more than objects, they are prizes that men should be worshiping and pawning after, but that isn't her world. She loves her nation, is proud to be of such nationality, but she wants things to change.

Even so, she must do what is needed for her family, she must tend to the dishes and care for her mother. No matter the troubles, she must be a house woman, and she does not get a say.

However, with her father weak and unable to serve his country, Mulan finds herself questioning everything she has been taught about social order. When a decree arrives from the United Nations stating that Mulan's father must return to battle against the mysterious War Lord, she decides to abandon her teachings and disguises herself as a male fighter, a warrior - perhaps - and joins her country amongst several others to do what she believes is right.

It's only when she realizes that this War Lord can only be defeated by Earth's Mightiest Heroes that she begins to doubt her capabilities. She can fight, yes. She can strategize, of course. But can she be of any service to the Avengers when they find her alone after all her fellow comrades for Xiǎo shèng suǒ have been killed by this new terrorist? And when they discover that Fa Zhou - man - is actually Fa Mulan - female - they begin to see that maybe this woman has the bravery to do battle without hiding who she truly is.

Through thick and thin, she finds herself struggling to see past everything she has been taught in her sexist nation, but even so, after seeing every last one of her fellow soldiers fall to the ground with swords through the heart, she has to overcome the hardest obstacle of all: understanding what went wrong, and if she could be an asset to a team of true sacrifice.

honestly, this is random, I legit was looking through Netflix and thought this would be cool.

it's obviously an au, and the villain is obviously some weirdo named War Lord, but you can change that to make it more menacing, rawr. um, I almost picture this being after ultron but before civil war because that's before everyone splits off like "bye, bitch." you can add thor and bruce and tony in, i don't see why not, it's an au, it can be before they left and crap, but obviously sam, wanda, rhodes, and vision are avengers, yada yada.

so her home, which I made up because I can, is male dominated and crap, you know, the usual. and like mulan, she goes off to fight as a dude, but when she is in battle -wherever she is- all her fellow soldiers are killed by War Lord and I don't know how she survives, she just does. but the avengers come and see she is alive and they think she is a dude, but she is over here mourning her fellow home-boys when they arrive, and they're like "bro, what the hell happened" and she is like "first, not a bro, second, let me explain" and they see her bravery and shit and are like "we need your help" and so on so forth.

you can make her not want to help and she goes away and they have to convince her, or you know, she can go easily. either way, she is doing this for her family and her rights and stuff.

you can make this a Steve Rogers or a Sam Wilson, it could honestly work for either one.
