IT WAS HARD TO KEEP UP WITH THE JONES'S. 

That was easily an understatement to everyone around the family, but for the family itself, life was as sweet as tea could possibly be. Whatever life threw at them, they took care of it together, and that was final. 

Jayden Jones knew that, too. 

She lives happily in a spacious three-bedroom apartment with everyone she could ever need. She's got Pops, the grumpy-but-always-helpful-and-cheerful-at-the-same-time old man who can either light up a room with his old-timer stories or bring down a room after grumbling about the teenagers poisoning the streets. Then there's Lawrence, the over-protective-will-do-anything-for-his-daughters-super-playful-and-understanding-yet-sarcastic-dad who will literally always be around for the people he loves the most. And Michelle, the pessimistic-snarky-activist teenager who loves to find joy in proving others wrong. And certainly not least: Karla. The optimistic-very-sarcastic-very-confident-very-sassy-and-excited eight-year-old who does nothing more than to launch herself onto her dad when he walks into the room after a day of work.

Jayden had a perfect family. She was a Jones, and Jones's got things done together, or not at all. You know, until one certain boy comes into the picture and he has to screw everything up.

But it's fine, they'll just need to take it one day at a time.

the family is super close but the youngest sister and the dad have a cute relationship and she always runs to him when he comes home and the grandfather is always home while the dad works as a nurse at a doctors office (because it's adorable). 

lawrence was in the military and isn't anymore and his wife and him are divorced and she lives in boston.

you can decide what kind of hairstyle jayden has. i'm thinking she puts a little more effort into her appearance then her sister but she still wears like the overalls and oversized tshirts but she makes them work. her personality is kind of like michelle's. she is sarcastic, easily annoyed, and snaps back, but she's also really playful and likes to joke around.

in case you can't tell, this is based off of the show 'One Day at a Time,' but the Netflix version. Pops is basically Lydia, Lawrence is Penelope, Michelle is Elena, and Karla is like a younger version of Alex. but they are - instead of a hispanic family - an African-American family and their personalities and conversation can center around jokes about white people or something like Black Panther (whatever you feel comfortable with, just don't be racist)
