WHEN THE FIRST SHOT OF SUPERMAN WAS CAPTURED BY NONE OTHER THAN JAMES OLSEN, THE WORLD WAS ASTONISHED. THEY WANTED MORE, THINKING THAT JAMES OLSEN DID IT ALL ON HIS OWN. BUT THEY WERE WRONG, JAMES OLSEN HAD BEFRIENDED THE SUPERHERO AND KNEW HIS TRUE IDENTITY, WHICH GRANTED HIM THE FIRST PICTURE. ONE GIRL KNEW THAT, HOWEVER.

SHE KNEW JUST WHO SUPERMAN REALLY WAS, AND WHAT HIS JOB WAS AT THE DAILY PLANET. SHE KNEW FAR TOO MUCH FOR ONE TO BELIEVE, AND THESE WERE SECRETS SHE DIDN'T SHARE WITH A SOUL.

BUT LIVING IN NATIONAL CITY AS A PHOTOGRAPHER WAS OLD NEWS, THE JOB WAS BORING. SHE WORKED AT CATCO AS THE HEAD PHOTOGRAPHER, BUT SHE NEVER CAPTURED ANYTHING OTHER THAN PICTURES OF A NEW BUILDING OR PEOPLE THAT HAD DONE WELL IN THEIR COMMUNITY.

THAT IS, SHE HAD NEVER DONE ANYTHING UNTIL SUPERGIRL MADE HER FIRST APPEARANCE.

WHEN SUPERGIRL APPEARS AND CHANGES THE WORLD YET AGAIN, CAT CALLS IN JAMIE YOUNG TO BE HER PHOTOGRAPHER. SHE HIRES HER TO CATCH THE MOMENTS OF SUPERGIRL THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO. 

SO WHEN SHE, AS THRILLED AS SHE IS, GOES OUT TO TAKE SOME PICTURES, SOMEONE ELSE COMES TO TOWN. HIS NAME IS JAMES OLSEN, AND FOR SOME REASON, JAMIE IS AN INTEREST TO HIM. ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE BEGINS ASKING HOW IT WAS TO TAKE PICTURES OF CLARK KENT WHEN HE WAS SUPERMAN. 

KNOWING THAT SOMEONE ELSE KNOWS HIS BEST FRIEND'S SECRET STARTLES HIM, ALMOST AS MUCH AS JAMIE GOING TO EXTREME HEIGHTS TO SNAP JUST ONE PHOTO OF SUPERGIRL. SHE TOTALLY PUTS HER BEST FRIENDS, KARA DANVERS AND WINN SCHOTT'S, PLANS FOR THE NIGHT TO THE SIDE AND DECIDES TO TAKE ONE RISKY PHOTO ON THE SAME BRIDGE THAT SUPERGIRL SAVED A PLANE FULL OF PASSENGERS. 

BUT JAMIE DIDN'T EXPECT TO LOSE HER FOOTING AND GO OVER THE EDGE, SHE DIDN'T EXPECT TO BE JUST LIKES JAMES OLSEN WHEN HE FIRST MET SUPERMAN. BUT SHE WAS, AND SHE HAD RECREATED THE MOMENT PERFECTLY. 

SO WHEN SUPERGIRL SAVES HER FROM ULTIMATE DEATH, JAMIE IS BOTH OVERJOYED AND CURIOUS. SHE BECOMES RUTHLESS IN HER SEARCH TO FIND THE SECRET IDENTITY OF SUPERGIRL, AND WHEN SHE FINALLY PUTS THE PIECES TOGETHER THROUGH THE PHOTOS SHE'S TAKEN, SHE IS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT HER BEST FRIEND IS SUPERGIRL, AND SHE TOLD TWO PEOPLE THAT WEREN'T HER.

BUT HER SHOCK ISN'T NEARLY AS MUCH AS WHEN JAMES TAKES A SPECIAL INTEREST IN THE GIRL THAT IS SO MUCH LIKE HIM, AND IT'S UP TO HIM TO GET ALL THE ANSWERS THAT JAMIE HARBORS IN HERSELF. 

THAT'S NOT NEARLY THE END OF THEIR JOURNEY. 

A PHOTO MAY HAVE STARTED IT ALL, BUT IT CERTAINLY WON'T END IT.

i beg of you, change the title, it is disgusting.

also, i feel like james is an underrated character. sure, he makes some stupid decisions, but he's great. other than winn he is my favorite character. 

also, this takes place in the very beginning of season one. if that wasn't clear, now it is.

so basically, jamie is  photographer that has never had a big role in catco, but then cat was like 'bro, take a picture of supergirl,' and she was like 'alright, boss. cool beans,' and then she had this large role to go capture the first photo of supergirl. her story is just like james', she fell off a building while trying to take a picture of the hero, and then the hero saved her, and then she was like 'who just saved my ass?' and then she worked to find out that supergirl is kara.

it's not specified, but she is hurt that her best friend - kara - didn't tell her her secret, but she told james, when james moved there like four days ago. it kind of makes sense if you think about it. 

jamie and james' relationship should be one hell of a slowwwww burn because she's still in the process of forgiving kara for being kara, basically, and she isn't used to the idea of james coming into catco and stealing her thunder. 

the excerpt in the description is her talking with winn down in her photo studio that he's never been to before so yeah, cool, alright. 

um, what else? oh! yes, she does know clark kent is superman, because she isn't an idiot, and it's not hard to tell. also, she's toured daily planet and talked to clark kent, and then the same day she talked to superman after he saved someone from a car accident, so she kind of put together the details. this information right here is crucial when kara is like, 'yo, how the hell do you know my cousin is superman?' also, bring up SOMETHING about the damn glasses and how they don't do squat. 

yeah, other than that, it should take her a few chapters to find out kara is supergirl through her photos and research, you know, the usual. also, don't jump right into this plot, like make something about her meeting with cat grant and then progress slowly into james' arrival and her resuce and shit like that. 

that's all. i'll shut up now and go be annoying somewhere else.
