Horrible surprise
'Goring fire! I'm going to be late!' I shrieked waking up with squinting eyes from my bed, throwing away to the side my blue comforter. Then, I dashed towards my bathroom, doing the usual ritual as fast as I can.
Frantically, I opened my cloth drawer and slid on my black skinny's, T-shirt with a print saying Owl wise and in my walking closet found my favorite black vans. Not having time to tame my dark curls I decide playing it into a high ponytail. My face has no embellishment, only displaying a bit of mascara and a dab of nude lip gloss.
I run down the wooden sleek stairs in this huge mansion, feeling the essence completely empty, since just about everyone wakes up earlier than me.
Ting! I grabbed some strawberry pop-tarts hearing just in time a loud horn, blasting itself of a car. I plopped it all in my mouth and closed the door behind me, double-checking it while jumping to my best friends cherry red Corvette.
'Seriously, I think I know what to buy you for your birthday which is coming in two more days. An alarm clock. You sure could be a bear better.' Linzie says chuckling.
'Just shut up and drive! I really don't want to hear our principals annoying voice again.' With that she turned her head with her strawberry blond hair slashing around her face as she screeched the car driving at full speed. Thank God school isn't far off ahead...
'Ready to run?' Linzie said as she skillfully parked her car and came to a halt. Her laughing blue eyes were full of mischief and her thin lips were turned into a Cheshire grin, loving trouble. I looked up to our school pride: football champion posters accompanied with the hot football captain Luke Armstrong, and grinned.
'Uh-um.' I mumbled before we grabbed each others hands and ran from our massive 10 feet tall steel gate to our private school, that could easily be mistaken by a university. I'd prefer better a smaller school, but mom and dad insisted. As soon as we entered the hall in school, a booming voice yelled to us making Linzie giggle a bit, tugging her fuchsia pink dress lower.
'Narinae Whiteman and Linzinay Grant! To my office, now.' Ever so slowly, we walked together to the office. Tun tun tun! Nah, I'm used to going to the office all the time, not a troublemaker if that's what you're presuming. I just hang out here helping out the lovely secretary whose always nice to me when Linzie decides not to attend school. (Which is almost everyday)
I sank down lower on the chair, followed by a gum-chewing Linzie, chewing on that gum the way I constantly teased her. She looked like a freaking lama!
Mr. Sourpuss had a scold in his white even lips and narrowed brown eyes as he sat down. 'This is the second time you arrive late. You both are no troublemakers nor had I heard a complaint or a single peep of you both, yet that does not mean I wont be appeased and be fleeting of you both running late to school. Have I need to repeat myself again? One more time, you both are tardy, and I wont hesitate on expelling you. We are a school of high standards. Am I understood clearly?' He raised an eyebrow and I wondered how on earth could he do that? I miserably tried constantly and failed shamelessly.
We both gave a nod in unison and left at the second bell chime.
The rest of the day passed in a blur and detention was on my agenda in just one more minute. Linzie was supposed to be here but she being Linzie got out of it saying some valuable (fake) excuse, replying she had to be elsewhere, signed by her parents. Impossible, for her parents are always away in business meetings or whatsoever, so she always had to falsify their signature and was like a daughter to our parents.
Once, she got in loads of trouble with our teacher back in middle school, Mr. Vandelir. Too bad he was such a grumpy old man who had about the weirdest sense of style. She put a stinking gas on his desk and thanks to her we were able to have class outside of how foul the smell was. M.r Vandelir knew very well it was Linzie who did that prank yet with a puppy-eyed look and a few words saying it was peer pressure she was free from it all. Seriously? Peer pressure and Linzie? Puh-lease, give me a break.
Slowly, almost tip-toying I went in the music room where detention was labored and sat on the nearest chair not giving a good look anywhere but my chair. But the second I looked up, my heart sped up from the unexpected sight, drumming in my ears managing a double-take to the seat peaked next to me.
His icy blue eyes were fixed on me longer than necessary looking serious until a smile tugged and played at the corners of his even lips. His chiseled nose slightly twitched and his straight blond hair was messy yet he managed it.
Luke Armstrong
Holy fruitcake!
He's the captain of football, a senior of course like me and Narinae and also the guy me and Linzie at times fan-girled about.
I gave him the best of a grin I could give only to replace his smile by a vanished one with an alarmed sense.
In a matter of seconds, he got up from his seat and bent down next to me.
He's a wolf if you didn't know. Alex said.
Wow am I dim then. I mentally slapped my forehead.
I know.
I rolled my eyes at this and focused on Luke, who is right on front of me. Wait till Linzie hears about this!
'Narinae, you are in deep trouble. You and your clan included. Blue Crest is planning on murdering all of you.' O-kay. He's never in all three years I've known him have spoken to me and he says this? Such a loaded answer to keep up with and understand the depht of it. I scrunched up my forehead.
Careful with this guy Nar, I don't have a good feeling about him. Alex said worried.
'How do you know?' I asked with my chin raised defiantly.
Luke scratched the back of his head avoiding my gaze for a couple of minutes as if trying to gauge any correct words to speak out loud what he had on mind.
'Because, because I am from the Blue Crest clan. I'm actually the Alpha,' His concerned eyes now were contoured by this darker shade looking like a blue eyed demon. 'and I'm here to destroy you all. One by one, but I will start off with you precious. You have no idea who and what you are.' Anger and confusion welled up on me.
'I'm a werewolf you dumbcrow!' He tisked shaking his head slowly. I stood up and he did the same but this time he got closer, chest to chest, making me uncomfortable and freeze.
'After I kill you, I'll murder all of your innate people, becoming the ruler instead of your father. Just a fair warning, that's all. So I guess instead of saying see you later, I'll say won't see you ever.' He tipped his head back with my face upturned with shock and disgust.
He grasped a dark curl from my ponytail and yanked my head back forcing my eyes to be met with his. My hazel eyes showed no fear this time though yet inside I was still perplexed; not still processing this. 'Such a pity and waste to get rid of you... Say what, I'll give you one preposition. Go with me and I'll save you only, so you could rule with me and I could use your rare talents. You have three weeks to decide. In three weeks, I'll come for you, think about it. You can't be that stupid to refuse me.' With that he laughed maniacally looking like this psycotic crazy guy freaking me out.
I telepathically spoke to Linzie and everyone of my recent encounter and events.
He stepped back, releasing his tight grip on my hair and with a wink and a smirk off he went.
