Chapter 5: Dawn
-•*A/N*•-
Hey guys! Ready for Chapter 5? By the time this gets out, it probably will be a month from now. Hopefully not but I know how that goes. I got some cool ideas for this story and am super excited to use them! In any case! On to the story! (though I doubt anyone read this)

Today, May had her munchlax in her lap. Her mind kept pondering about her dreams. Two out of three of them had happened. As far as she knew, that wasn't normal. If she was right, then the third dream, about that girl, would come true.
How silly it sounded. As a little girl, before her dad and brother died, her dad and mom would read her fairytales before tucking her in. They would always tell her, if she wished on a shooting star, it would come true. They were wrong. Magic didn't exist. If it did, it could have saved her brother and her father.
She then noticed that her mom pulled into the school's parking lot. She returned her munchlax with him giving a cry of refusal. Then she remembered the big event planned. Operation lock Gary and Leaf into a closet is a go! She softly giggled making sure her mom didn't think she was weird.
"Love you Mom! Bye!" May said, hopping out of the car. She shut the door behind her, and heard her mom drive off. She sighed before walking into school. It was a glorious Friday. The perfect day because she wouldn't receive Leaf's fury until Monday, unless Leaf payed a visit. May shuddered, she hoped that didn't happen. Suddenly her cursed foot throbbed, causing her to trip into place next to Drew.
"Well at least you didn't crash into me this time June," Drew said casually.
"Shut up," May groaned. They walked together to Drew's locker. As they walked through several hallways, fangirls glared May down. She ignored them, they haven't bothered her so far so she didn't see any concern. May so lost in thought, she didn't notice she almost ran into Drew when he stopped.
"Ok, I know Gary has last hour AUT because I have it with him, he usual tries to screw things up around the school," Drew said.
"So does Leaf! It seams it's the will of, whatever, wants to get Leaf and Gary back together!" May squealed.
"Keep your fangirling to yourself," Drew said blandly.
"Whatever! In any case, if your absent for AUT it does count against you if you're a Junior or a Senior!" May exclaimed.
"Because Gary needs a perfect record," Drew sarcastically.
"No, but Leaf wants one," May said matter-of-factly.
"That's because Leaf is a nerd," Drew smirked.
"You're a nerd!" May shot back, knowing full well that it was a horrible defense of Leaf.
"What did you say about Leaf!?" A new voice said, coming at them down the hall. A boy with spiked brunette hair. He wore a simple black t-shirt and jeans with black converse.
"I leave this to you, Treetop," May patted his back and giggled before sneaking away.
"Hey! Don't leave me alone to deal with him!" Drew exclaimed, but she was already gone.

"Stupid April!" Drew cursed. Suddenly, instead of his neck throbbing when the name was mention, his whole body felt the strong shock when he and May touched. It sounded so cliche, but there was no way to stop it for now. He grabbed his locker door for support.
"You ok man?" Gary asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Drew said, stabilizing himself after the shock started wearing off.
"Now, you got some explaining to do sir," Gary raised his eyebrow.

May passed through different halls searching for Leaf. Finally, she found her.
"Leaf!" May called, running towards said girl. Leaf's head was tilted towards the ground. Her head perked up at May's call. May caught up to her.
"Leaf, I'm sorry for yesterday, I shouldn't have blown up at you like that," May apologized sincerely.
"It's ok, I guess I got a bit out of line, I just, don't trust them," Leaf said softly.
"Friends?" May asked, raising an eyebrow. She stuck one of her arms out.
"Friends," Leaf giggled, sticking her own hand out to grip May's. They shook on it. Suddenly the bell rang. The two girls laughed before running to their homeroom.

May plopped in her seat next to Drew in their homeroom.
"So how did it go?" Drew asked turning his chair slightly towards her.
"It went great! We made up!" May said happily. She turned around and smiled and waved at Leaf. Leaf smiled and waved back.
"That's awesome, I'm glad you two are friends, but I feel bad seeing as I was kind of responsible for your fight," Drew said sincerely, scratching the back of his neck where it had become really itchy all the sudden, right were his mark was. May looked shocked at his tone.
"You weren't responsible for anything that happened, that was my fault entirely, don't feel bad, seriously Drew," May comforted him, kinda. She placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Honestly I wasn-" She squeaked mid sentence at the electrical current flowing through her veins. It flowed into her hand and up her arm to the rest of her body, and down to her feet where it escaped into the floor. She quickly retracted her hand off of Drew's shoulder, and all the electricity inside her escaped through her feet. Her leg hit the metal leg of the table, and she received a great zap.
"Ouch! I just shocked myself on the table, by the way, did you feel that?" May asked.
"That weird current of electricity, yeah I felt that," Drew said.
"That's so weird," May trailed off. Getting an idea she tried to touch his shoulder again. Before she could do that though, Drew stopped her by grabbing her wrist.
"Are you crazy! Don't do that again!" Drew exclaimed. Suddenly the sensation returned through their hands. Drew immediately let go.
"Man, that was a bit counter productive," Drew said. Suddenly a student spoke up.
"Is the AC on? It's getting kind of breezy in here," They said.
"No..." Miss Kaitlyn said.
"Crap!" Drew muttered under his breath. May didn't catch it.

May had AUT after her homeroom so she headed outside to just relax, as she had already done her homework. She headed out the school doors and sat down at one of the tables. No one else was out there except her, or so she thought. She heard sobbing, coming from one of the corners of the building.
May left her stuff and went to investigate. After following the cries, May found a girl huddled in the corner. Her head was on top off her crossed arms that were resting on her knees. Her back was against the wall, and her blue locks spreading out, covering part of her arms, and hanging loosely over the edge of them. May immediately recognized her as one of the school Barbies.
"Hey, you ok?" May asked gently. The girl shot her head up.
"I though I was alone," was her response.
"I didn't have any homework, so I came out here, lucky for you, it's just me," May said. She sat down next to the girl.
"Just you," She sniffed, a slight smile in her voice though.
"So, what's wrong? I want to help you," May said softly. She shook her head.
"You can't tell?" May asked. She nodded. May thought back to her third dream. It's the same girl. She took her chances.
"I already know," May said. The girl looked to her with a shocked expression.
"What!? how did you find out?" She asked.
"Don't worry, I'm the only one who knows," May said.
"But, how?" She said in shock.
"Well, I, Okay, you're going to think I'm crazy, but, I had a dream a couple weeks ago where you told me," May said sheepishly.
"What do you know?" She asked.
"He makes you do things you don't want to, and that you're too scared to try and stand up to him," May said. The girl nodded.
"He hits me, if I don't do what he says," She cried.
"Has he ever tried to do, you know?" May asked hoping she wasn't prying too much.
"No, but he has threatened me he was going to," She sobbed.
"Hey, I know someone who can help you, he's super protective of his friends, I think you should meet him!" May said.
"Um, okay, but first, I want to fix my face," She said.
"You don't need make up! You're beautiful," May said. The girl wiped away her tears.
"Thank you," She said appreciative.

The two walked through the hall looking for this said person. May knew he had AUT the same hour as her. She led the girl through the hall. She peaked into the library and saw Ash. She walked in, and tapped, and gave him the, let's go hand sign. He followed her back to the library entrance.
"Ash, I'd like you to meet my new friend!" May chirped.
"Hey, nice to meet you! I'm Ash!" He smiled.
"Nice to meet you too, I'm Dawn," The girl, Dawn, said shyly.

Drew led a confused Gary with him.
"Hey where are we going?" Gary asked.
"Don't worry about it, you'll thank me for it later," Drew smirked. Drew stopped at the closet.
"I'm so confused right now," Gary said. Drew opened the door and shoved Gary in. Gary landed right on top of Leaf. Drew then slammed the door. Revealed after the door was shut was May, who originally behind it. She and Drew fist bumped, letting their hands touch for too long, creating that weird shock again. They quickly retracted from each other.
"We've got to stop doing that," May giggled sheepishly.
"Yeah," Drew agreed.
"Well you have fun! I have to go to my last class!" May waved at him. She turned to leave.
"Hey May?" Drew said, without thinking. She stopped and turned around.
"Yeah? What's up?" May asked.
"After we let them out and run, do you want to go to this new ice cream place and just hang?" Drew asked.
"Sure! But are you asking me on a date?" May raised her eyebrow.
"No, unless you want it too," Drew joked.
"Nah, I'm fine with just hanging out, also, instead of ice cream, there's this really good coffee shop I know," May said.
"Didn't think you were into coffee," Drew said.
"Well, more like Frappé Chino," May said.
"Predictable," Drew smirked.
"Shut up," May laughed. "Catch ya later!" She said, running off. Drew smiled. He noticed the pounding in his chest. Even though he was supposed to be with this girl April, or whatever, he really liked May. As of now, the only thing he really cared about most, was her. Making her smile, laugh. As of now, April didn't matter to him. May did.

In The Closet...

Gary scrambled up off of Leaf.
"I'm sorry!" He apologized quickly.
"You were a part of this plan weren't you?" Leaf jeered.
"No! I swear, I had no idea they were going to do this! Honestly! You have to believe me!" Gary exclaimed.
"Why should I, you've already lost my trust," Leaf scowled.
"What you saw was a misunderstanding! I would never do that to hurt you!"Gary explained.
"Yeah right!" Leaf scoffed.
"It's the truth! I swear! Drew just told me to follow him, so I did, then he shoved me in on top of you!" Gary said.
"Not buying it," Leaf said stubbornly, turning her chin away from Gary.
"I swea-" Leaf cut him off.
"LALALALALALALALA!" She continued on with her ears plugged.
"Leaf! Listen to me!" Gary exclaimed. She kept la-ing.
"Leaf, please!" no avail. He sighed. He grabbed her arms and moved them away from her ears. She struggled against him. He forgot how strong she was, but he was stronger. He was able to pin her hands against the wall behind her before pressing his lips against hers. Leaf missed this, but she just couldn't, she couldn't fall back into his arms. She quickly turned her head, and his lips brushed her cheek, leaving her blushing. She wanted to punch herself.
"You jerk!" Leaf growled, hurt.
"Please, can you just listen for once!" Gary pleaded, staring deep into Leaf's deep green eyes. She thought for a second, and met Gary's warm brown eyes. She immediately looked away.
"Fine, I'll listen to your stupid explanation," Leaf caved. Gary took in a deep breath.
"I never dated her, she was just a random girl in my math class who was in my AUT, and I had helped her previously, and she caught up with me after math, and hugged me as thanks, it was really awkward, I guess that's what you saw," Gary said.
"I saw you hugging another girl," Leaf verified.
"Leaf, I would never cheat on you, I can't believe you didn't trust me," Gary said sadly. Leaf stayed silent. Why didn't she trust him? They were childhood friends, after all.
Did she over react? Her head told her no, but her heart told her yes. Then again, her head was telling her to snap Gary in half, while her heart just wanted to snuggle in his arms again. It reminded her of that one song.. *Listen to your heart, before, you tell him good bye.* So she did.
"I don't know why I didn't trust you, but can we just start off as friends again, and see where it leads from there?" Leaf said.
"Really?" Gary asked.
"Yeah, really," Leaf confirmed.
"Thank you," Gary said softly scooting next to her against the wall. Leaf took a risk that her head told her to not. She leaned her head onto his shoulder. He was warm, and it comforted her, like it always did. She couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, when we get out of here, do you to hang out at my place?" Gary asked.
"Sure! sounds great!" Leaf said. "Also, remember, Drew and May are getting their butts kicked once we get out," Leaf smirked.
"You bet they are," Gary chuckled.

The bell rang, and students filled the halls. Drew stood in position waiting for his partner in crime. He then saw her make her way through.
I hope you brought your stuff," May said. Drew patted his bag.
"You ready to run?" Drew asked. May nodded. Drew then opened the door, and grabbed May's hand before running down the hall, through the crowd of people.
"MAAAAAYYY! DREEEEW! GET BACK HERE SO I CAN KICK YOUR BUTTS ALL THE WAY TO KALOS!" Leaf yelled, causing May and Drew to run faster towards the park, for coverage until the Leaficanne subsided.
