"Alright! Our prompt is that my country stole 200 gold from your country. We have to work out a solution that benefits both countries, so where should we start?" May said, reading the sheet while pacing her living room. Drew sat awkwardly on the couch. Suddenly May tripped over air and onto the floor again. It was hard to keep her balance when her foot kept annoying her. She groaned into the floor before getting up.
"Have a nice trip? You're the only person I know who just trips on air," Drew said softly.
"ANYWAYS! What should we do?" May asked.
"Obviously your country gives my country it's money back," Drew said plainly.
"Beneficial to BOTH countries Drew, that only benefits yourself," May said, narrowing her eyes at him.
"You're point?" Drew asked, raising an eyebrow. "You want beneficial, okay, you give my country the money back, and we won't set our giant army loose on yours. Deal?"
"No deal, my country needs the money to hire more guards because of the increase in crime and the decrease in money," May huffed.
"Okay, how about this, You pay me back half, and we become trade partners and allies since our countries are neighbors so if one's in trouble, it will benefit to have a nearby ally," Drew suggested.
"That sounds fair, now we just need to type up the treaty!" May exclaimed. Suddenly, she felt a tug on one of her shoelaces. Her skitty was batting at it, and trying to obtain it, but to no avail.
"Skitty! I can't play with you right now, I'm a little busy okay?" May said, picking up the fluffy pink Pokemon.
"Nyeh!" Skitty mewed.
"I know I know, hey, how did you get out it the first place!? You know what nevermind, Glaceon come on out!" May exclaimed, throwing the pokeball in the air. It broke open, and out jumped a blue icy fox looking Pokemon. "Now you have a friend to place with, I think she'll agree, right Glaceon?" May asked.
"Glace! Glaceon!" Glaceon purred.
"Nyeh! Nyah!" Skitty mewed, chasing Glaceon, trying to catch her tail.
"Sorry about that, they get a bit crazy from being cooped up so long," May apologized.
"That's alright, anyway, I got the treaty finished," Drew said.
"That's great!" May said, May went behind the couch where Drew was sitting, and leaned over to glance at his laptop screen. She read over it, making sure he put the right stuff down. She was surprised that he did.
"Everything looks good, I got a printer in the computer room, just follow me," May said, walking towards a hallway. Drew got up and followed her. He selected the print button and connected to her printer. As it was printing, he noticed a picture on the desk. It showed a young May, with a women, man, and little boy, together looking happy.
"Is that you're family?" Drew asked, pointing to the picture. May grabbed the treaty paper.
"Yeah, that picture was taken when I was 7 years old," May said, almost choking on her words.
"You guys look like a happy family," Drew said, picking up the picture and studying it.
"Hey, you're brother looks only 2 years younger than you in this picture, so shouldn't he be a freshmen? Where is he?" Drew asked. Putting the picture back down on the desk he turned to May for her response, but saw she was crying.
"Hey what's wrong?" Drew asked, genuinely concerned. He hated crying girls, they were his weakness.
"The year that picture was taken, was the year my dad and brother died," May said, tears starting to stream down her face.
"I want to know what happened, but I don't want you to tell me if it hurts you," Drew said softly.
"When I was 7, an intruder broke in. He immediately went after Mom, but dad saved her and the intruder, turned the gun on him and killed him, then, he left mom and went to find me. I was in Max's room when I heard the shot go off. I didn't know what to do, I told Max I'd protect him, so I stood in front of him.
The intruder opened the door, and I remember seeing his cruel face, but what I remember most vividly was his eyes. One was red and the other was blue. He pulled out his gun and before I knew it, I was on the ground, flat on my face and Max fell back, he, he, he took the bullet meant for me. It still haunts me, the way he fell back and hit the floor, staining the carpet, then the man that had killed my brother. A huge grin was plastered on his face. I used to have nightmares about it," May said, sobbing. Drew didn't know what to do, so he went up to her, and gave her a side hug.
"Hey, it's all going to be okay, I live alone, my parents and older brother are dead too. An intruder killed them as well," Drew said, trying to comfort her.
"The police never caught him," May said.
"Same here," Drew said. "Believe it or not, I was also 7 when I lost my family. I wound up living at an orphanage until I could get a job. Now I have a small apartment. Also, it's all over now, hopefully you never have to deal with that guy again,"
"It's too late," May said solemnly.
"What do you mean?" Drew asked.
"I had a dream, a couple weeks ago before school started. I had it severely nights in a row too. It was the same guy, I think he's after me again, I don't know why either, I just know he's planning something, and I'm scared. Why am I even telling you this?" May said.
"I don't know, only my friends know I live alone, so I don't know why I told you," Drew said.
"Wait, does that mean we're friends?" May asked.
"Maybe, I mean, we always end up bumping into each other so if we were to hate each other that would just be plain misery," Drew said.
"So you're saying you guess you'll be friends with me? Why did I even bother trying," May giggled, wiping away her tears.
"That's your fault Maple," Drew shrugged.
"Hey, don't you think that it's kind of weird how both of our families were killed by an intruder who was never caught when we were both 7?" May asked.
"Yeah, it is. Hey, do you think the guys who killed our families could be in fact the same guy?" Drew theorized.
"There could be a possibility," May agreed. Suddenly, they were interrupted by Drew's stomach.
"Hah! And you call me driven by food!" May replied smugly before her stomach decided to growl also. She blushed in embarrassment.
"Oh yeah? What was that you were saying?" Drew asked, daring her to continue.
"Hey, you said you live alone? Would you like to stay for dinner? My mom is a really good chef!" May offered.
"I couldn't do that, it would be rude, besides, I'll be fine," Drew said, taking the bait of a subject change.
"Please! You probably haven't had good company in awhile," May pleaded.
"Wow, begging me to stay June, didn't think you were that desperate," Drew remarked smugly.
"I'm trying to be nice to you! Jerk!" May pouted.
"Fine, I'll stay, only if it's okay with your mom," Drew gave in.

"Sir, we found our target,"
"Excellent work you two,"
"Thank you Sir, when is your son going to arrive?"
"He's been currently in Jhoto, traveling to the port that has trips to Lillycove, soon April will be all ours! Nicholas hasn't awoken yet, but when he does, it will be too late! We will have used her to change the past!"
"As you wish Sir."
"Should we tell him that we think the boy is awakened?"
"No, it probably doesn't matter,"

"How was working with Gary?" May asked Leaf, as they walked down the hallway together.
"Awful!" Leaf cried. "What about snake charmer Drew?"
"Not so bad, I insisted that he eat dinner with Mom and I and Mom ended up really liking him," May said.
"You did what?" Leaf asked, narrowing her eyes. "May I've told you-"
"I know! He's a playboy! I was just being thoughtful! Besides, Maybe if you got to know him more, you would see, he's not as bad as you think!" May exclaimed.
"You're defending him! You're under his spell!" Leaf warned.
"Will you just stop! It's the same with Gary! You may be able to put up with him more if you tried to understand him!" May snapped before running away from Leaf. She then of course just had to crash into the treetop himself.
"Seriously June! I told you to stop running into me like that!" Drew scowled.
"I'm sorry," May sniffed, before brushing past him.
"May?" He asked. She stopped.
"Just now, you called me by my real name," May trailed off.
"You look upset, what's the matter?" He asked.
"Leaf, she's trying to make you out as some really bad playboy who had me stuck under your spell, but you're not! I'm not under any spell either! And with Gary, she doesn't try to see eye to eye with him! That's why she refuses to get along with him!" May explained. "She needs to try to see others points of view!" Drew looked at her, a shocked expression painted on his face.
"Thanks, I wasn't expecting that," Drew said, surprised but sincere.
"I'm just upset with her right now," May sighed.
"Well I think she has a good reason," Drew said.
"Huh?" May asked.
"Well, it started 3 years ago..."

"Hey Leaf!" A boy with spiked brown hair said, running to a green eyed brunette girl.
"Yeah? What's up Gary?" She asked.
"Do you want to hangout at my place later?" The boy, Gary, said hopefully.
"That sounds great!" She exclaimed happily.
"Great! See you after school!"

Later that Night...

Leaf laughed at something that Gary said. He was smiling at her, with shining eyes.
"Hey Leaf, I need to tell you something," Gary said quietly. She stopped laughing.
"Huh?"
"Leaf, I really like you, you're amazing and you make me feel so happy when I'm around you. I could spend forever with you and never be bored! Do you think you could be my girlfriend?" Gary confessed. Leaf was shocked. It was written all over her face.
"Gary, I. That was so sweet! I actually really like you too! I have for awhile, I would be honored to be your girlfriend!" Leaf said happily, with tears in her eyes.

2 Years Later...

"Gary! Thank you so much for helping me with my Geometry 2 yesterday!" A girl ran up to Gary.
"Uh, yeah, sure, no problem," Gary said, unenthusiastic. She then hugged Gary.
"You're the best!" She said into his ear. He laughed awkwardly before patting her back once.

Meanwhile...

Leaf was walking down the hallway when she saw another girl hugging Gary. Tears started to fill her eyes. She should've known Gary would do something like that. She slowly walked away.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Later that day...

"Hey Leaf! Guess what tomorrow is?" Gary exclaimed running up to Leaf.
"Go away Gary;" Leaf said coldly. Gary looked shocked.
"Leaf?" Gary asked.
"Don't "Leaf?" me Gary! I know you're cheating on me! As far as I'm concerned, we're done!" Leaf yelled, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"What? Leaf I would nev-" Gary got cut off.
"I don't want to hear your stupid excuses!" Leaf said, then walked away. Tears made there way onto Gary's face.
"I'll never give up on you Leaf," Gary vowed to himself.

"So that's why Leaf is always so defensive when it comes to you two," May thought aloud, a frown tugging at her lips.
"Yeah, pretty much, I've been trying to figure out a way to get them back together. So far, I haven't come up with anything other than locking them in a closet as a last resort," Drew chucked, brushing a lock of emerald green hair out of his face.
"I think we should lock them in a closet! It will help them in the long run, (if Gary doesn't screw up his chances.)" May offered.
"True, I feel bad for them, I mean, it's the least we can do," Drew shrugged, his eyes sparkling with mischief. May almost blushed, but held it in.
"Ok, but we need a plan," May pointed out.
"Simple, meet me at the front gates after school, we should also go before we're late to home room," Drew chuckled, almost grabbing her hand but quickly thought ill. This April girl better be worth him blowing off May! Wait what? Since when did he care about her? Drew mentally freaked out on their dash to class.
May was so absorbed in her conversation, she didn't realize her foot was buzzing, until she sat down at her desk, almost slipping in the process.

Chapter 4 Tadah! Probably not worth the wait. I'm so sorry! It's just so hard to write sometimes without feeling like a junk writer. I'm really attached to this story so I'm afraid I'm going to screw everything up, T^T. In any case, thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed the chapter ^•^
