The Battle
Song: Wolves by Sam Timesz
Silver:
The moment I hear her scream it wakes me up. The sun is really bright out and nearly blinds me but my eyes adjust in no time. I search for her and that is when I see the giants taking over tormenting her in the cage hanging from the trees. The cages are made out of tree limbs and I'm sure if she tries to escape they will just close in on her more. I look around my surrounding trying to figure out how to escape but nothing comes to my attention on how to break away. The second time I hear her call out for me, it chills me to my inner core.
Every little molecule in my body starts to transform and in the blink of an eye I am the wolf. The cage shreds all around me from the force of my new form. I can't get over the amount of strength I have.
I fight for her. I claw, pounce, and bite anything that comes in my way to get to her. I don't care who I have to hurt or kill to save her. I was just about to take off the head of the main giant when I hear her call out to me. "Silver...don't!"
I stop in my tracks and quickly look over to her. Why won't she let me have this last kill? I look back down at the giant and he can barely hold his eyes open. I lean in closer to him and let my saliva drool on him even more as I grit my sharp teeth daring him to move again.
"Silver...please, " she calls out again, almost a cry for his life. Doesn't she have any idea what they were planning on doing with her, with me? I growl again and as I am about to walk away I turn and hit him hard in the side. He rolls over with a groan.
I slowly walk over to her. She is still trapped in the cage. I claw at the opening and it opens up for her to get out. I was surprised that the branches didn't bother fighting back. At first she seems a little apprehensive about stepping out. I'm shocked when she reaches out to me placing her soft hand on my cheek. "Thanks for saving me...now let's get out of here."
I kneel all the way down for her to climb up on my back and I take off before any of the giants are able to stand up and come after us.
Transforming into the wolf also gives me the inner strength to climb the mountain side. I run for hours before I finally give way and have to stop and rest. I should have found a way to do this from the beginning, then we would already be out of this massive jungle.
She slides down and lands on the ground with her soft adorable feet. She looks up at me and I notice the glow in her eyes is slowly fading away.
I remember the giants making a comment about her not being a fairy any longer and it makes me wonder if she will lose all her powers, her vision to see in the night. The sparkle of her skin, the light blue of her skin and the royal shades of blue in her hair slowly disappearing. All of it will soon disappear as if she never truly existed.
I watch as she finds a place to stretch out and sit down on the cold slate section of the mountain. She looks up towards the sky and I know she is making wishes on the stars. I wonder if she can feel herself slowly fading into something else.
I walk on all fours over to her and kneel down beside her. A smile creeps along her face as she rubs the back of my head down to my back and then back up digging into my hair. Inside I feel wild but somehow with her touch I feel tamed. I nudge her with my nose and she softly kisses me.
We don't have much time before the sun starts to come up again. I love the touch of her hands in my long hair and she somehow puts me to sleep. When I wake I am completely naked again and shivering. I look down at my body, quickly covering myself up. "Excuse me...sorry." Now that was a little embarrassing.
She looks down and only smiles before looking away. "I didn't see anything."
"Yeah...right. How long have you been awake?" I quickly sit up and cover my middle with my hand.
"Not long, I looked around and we are almost there. Come I will show you." She stands up and walks down a little and then stops to point. "See...there it is." She looks up at me with bright smile on her face.
"Maybe we should get going then, no need to be wasting any more time. The sooner we get out of here the better."
"I couldn't agree more " she starts to laugh. "But first here....put this on." She hands me a strand of leaves intertwined with each other.
"What is this?"
"Nothing...just another piece to hide..." She motions with her hands towards my manhood and I can't help but smirk. "All of that going on down there."
I take it from her and tie it around my waist and smile. "Well at least it fits....right."
She shakes her head and giggles.
I will say she is pretty handy at making things. She also made something to cover herself up with so that I am not able to see all of her. Which by the way is a good thing because I'm not sure how much longer I can take looking at her and not being able to touch her.
I turn and start heading down the mountain side. We are so close to getting to the cave that leads us out of here. I keep listening to the sounds around us, hoping that we will not encounter anything else along the way. I'm just not sure how much more I can take of this place.
It takes us the rest of the early morning to get down and the sun will soon be ready to rise. "Do you want to stop here and maybe climb our way up with the sun goes back down?" I turn to ask her what she would rather do.
"Actually can we just keep going."
I'm shocked that she wants to keep moving along. This whole time she has been requesting to stop about this time and now she want to go on. "We can but you realize this is straight up. It will take awhile to find the right footing and half way up the sun will be out."
I hear the sadness in her sigh as she lets out the air in her lungs, "Fine..." She looks around to see where we should go to get out of the sun. "We can rest right over there...but we might have company."
"Company...is that good or bad?"
"I'm not sure. But there is an opening right there and inside is a nice body of water. We could bath and rest. Some of my friends come here to visit."
"I thought Onyx quarters was off limits?"
"It is...and this is not part of it; Onyx quarters is up there." She points upwards. "We are going over there to that entry way. The water is amazing not as much as Shimmering Falls but you will love it."
"Will I now?" I smirk and then follow her before the sun is just above the horizon. We enter and she turns to look at me holding her finger to her lips for me to be quite. I only have to wonder what lies ahead of us. As long as it's not giants or other freaking annoying people I should be fine.
