Silver:

I hear a loud commotion going on nearby and it wakes me up. I fell asleep within the night and when the sun came up I was wide awake but of course everyone here is sound asleep. Well not everyone the tree still holds its grasp on me and every time I try to push away I feel it tighten on me.

During the day I dose off and on. She is right the heat here is different from the heat back at home. Before I even realize it the sun is going down just over the horizon and the moon is on its way up not long from now there will a zillion stars shining down on us.

Everyone is gathering around and I know something is about to happen. In the distance I see something flying in and I have to do a double take thinking my eyes and my mind is playing tricks on me. I blink a few times and I don't believe what I am seeing. It's a dragon...a real freaking dragon. The span of its wings is three times its size. Massive wings sail through the sky. I notice someone on top but it's a tad blurry from where I am.

Once the dragon comes in for a landing, I realize it is Azurite. My heart actually skips a beat. I'm excited to see her, relief actually. Now maybe we can get on our way out of here. I can't focus on anything but her. She is shockingly the most beautifulest thing that I have ever seen in my life. She walks in a hurry over to me.

And the first thing out of my mouth is about the dragon, "Is that really a dragon? You weren't lying...you actually have a real life dragon." What I meant to say was...are you alright? She looks back at the dragon and turns to smile at me.

"That is Rowan. I tried to tell you before but you insisted that it is all in my head, my imagination. Look I don't know what is about to happen but I wanted to thank you for helping me get back home. Rowan was very sick and weak and needed me by his side and...and..." She stops to look over at the leader because he is calling her name. She quickly flips back around. "I'm sorry if I can't save you from here." I watch as her eyes fill with tears.

She doesn't have to save me. I'm sure I will be just fine. I want to tell her not to go but this is something that is going to happen regardless. I have no clue what he is saying but when his army walks up to her, they reach out and hold her down, I know this is not going to be good.

 It's crazy how the plants come to life on request and I watch as the vines reach up to her arms and wrap itself around and around to hold her down. The moment the tree branch strikes her I feel her pain. What the hell is wrong with these beings?

Something inside of me awakens, rage pulsed through my veins. I felt it deep down rising. I just had to get to her. My head snapped back up when I heard her parents pleading for her but the leader doesn't seem to care. He walks behind her touching her wings and I get a sickening feeling in the bottom of my stomach; I cringe just the thought of him touching her. I watch as his hand trails closer to the core and he twists it so fast that it snaps her wing into.

What the hell! He was to stop; he will kill her. The dragon lets out this loud pitched screech and I just want to shield my ears from exploding. The cry is unbearable. I see something moving towards her, Scolecite. He starts talking and I think he is telling him that is enough. My veins start to boil when he touches her...like he really even cares. If he cared he would have never married the other fairy.

 I feel a low growl coming from my chest. Nothing seems to matter at this point because he reaches over and breaks the other like it means nothing to him. My eyes dart over to the dragon as it falls to the hard ground, so hard that I feel the vibration radiates underneath the ground. And if that doesn't hurt what comes out of her next tears me apart. The cry is a sharp wailing sound. I hear her gasp for air and again this overbearing cry that hits every nerve in my body.

I can't explain what happens next. My body contracts and it explodes and I am loose from the grasp of the trees. I am charging toward him and I make this horrific growl. I turn to her and claw at the vines releasing her from their hold. Everyone steps back except for Malachite he stands his ground. I dare him to come at me because the moment he does I will tear his body into.

However, Scolecite stands between the two of us and screams for me to stop. Malachite glares at me and tells me to leave the land and to take Azurite with me. "I will give you five moons; five and the forest will have the orders to take you down. Now go!" he bellows for all to hear.

I waste no time. I turn and run to her grabbing her in my mouth and slinging her to my back to let her hold on top of me. I run toward the tree that kept me captive and grabbed my backpack, clenching it between my teeth. I hear him telling everyone that no one is allowed to help us leave the land and if we manage to make it we are free and if not the forest will swallow us whole.

 When I make it to a clearing I stop and she slides slowly off of me. She falls to the ground all curled up in a ball. My heart breaks when I hear her cry. I can't help but look at her back to where her wings were. Now in its place are two broken stubs where they use to be. There are also deep cuts along the lower part of her back from the beating she received and her bluish color blood oozes out of the wounds. I nudge her with my nose. She slowly looks up at me and then flinches back. She looks scared of me but I stare her down and it's like she knows who I am. 

Reaching out towards me she rubs her hand along my furry cheek. Her hand rest under my ear and we stop for a second looking into each other's eyes. I watch as her eyes light up with recognition. "Silver, how is this possible? Who, what are you?"

I shake my head and nuzzle along her face and neck. She continues to stroke my fur. I'm not sure what exactly happened back there but somehow I transformed into this wolf like state. I feel like I have this inner strength and power that I just can't explain.

"You drink the water at Shimmering Falls didn't you?" she asks. I nod and she shakes her head like I must be crazy. "You were to only swim in it, not drink from it. Oh well, hopefully you will back to yourself soon. I know we should be on our way but I'm just really sore can we just rest for a while?" I nod again and lay down next to her.

She snuggles against me, placing her head on my massive side and I watch as she falls asleep. Me on the other hand, I can't seem to fall asleep. There are creepy sounds all in the woods and I just know the moment I am asleep something bad is going to happen. I don't know how long I just lay there and watch her sleep. Every now and then a tear will escape her eyes and I reach over and brush them away.

I need to find something to put on the wounds before they get infected but I don't know much about this land. However my grandfather did teach me how to use herbs and other plants from our land, surely it wouldn't be hard to find something here. I debate looking for something because I so don't want to leave her out in the open for others to see. I move her over closer to the tree and glare at the tree. "You hurt her or let anyone come near so help me I will cut you down." The tree bends down and it's like it understands me.

I trail off and gather a few things from the land and then come back to her within an hour. I still haven't transformed back so I place a few of the plants in my mouth and chew and then spit it back out. I make a hole in the ground and combine the ingredients making lather and then I softly touch her back. She jerks the one time but then falls right back asleep. When I am finished I snuggle up against her and let her sleep soundly in my arms.

I wake when she starts moving under me. I move my arm out of the way so she can get up if she needs to. Of course I set up the moment she does. I'm back to my normal self now. She blushes when she looks over at me and it takes me a minute to realize that I'm completely naked. I grab one of the larger leafs nearby and place it over my manly parts.

"Thanks for helping me again." She tries to smile but it's quickly replaced with a quivering lip.

"Hey...everything is going to be alright. You will see."

"All right, No...it will never be just all right." A tear slowly trails down her cheek. "I lost everything that ever mattered to me. My home, my family, my friends. Rowan and my....my...wings." She leans into me and cries into my chest. I feel her heave up and down. The only thing I can do right now it to be here for her.

 I embrace her and hold her close to me. "I'm sorry Azurite. I'm sorry that I did not change before all of that happened but I'm here now and I will always be here for you. I know you don't have feeling for me like you do Scolecite but I will never give up on you. Please come back with me. We will make a life together on the other side in my world."

Her head tilts up for me to look her in the eyes, those freaking electric blue eyes that make my heart melt to see the tears in them. I know she is scared of what is going to happen next and even I can't really do anything about it. I don't know what comes over me but I can't help myself as I lean closer into her smelling the sweet aroma and I let my lips touch the soft velvetiness of her lips.
