Silver:

I can't believe that she really thinks that I am just going to leave her here. These people don't give two cents about her. Yes this is her land, her people but no one will ever love and care for her the way that I do. She pretends that she is happy and that she will be alright staying here but I know that will never happen. She will die in misery here and there is no way in hell that I am letting that happen. I reach back down and grab her hands pulling them closer to me. "I am not leaving you here...no way in hell."

I looks around at all the others."Azurite, I love you. I'm not leaving you here." I kiss the back of her hand and refuse to let go of her gaze. I watch her reaction as she tries to bat the tears away. I'm not sure if she is sad or happy or what she is really feeling at the moment.

We are quickly disturbed by Malachite, who thinks he can get by with anything. He jerks her arm from me and she slams hard into the cave wall. I feel my body tense up with madness. I tighten my fist, knowing that it's about to happen and all hell is about to be let loose. I warned him not to ever touch her again and he had the nerve to pull her out of my grasp.

In milliseconds he hits me and the others swarm around me like freaking flies. They are attacking me and there are so many that I get knocked down. When I go to stand back up, one of them flies over to me knocking me off my balance and I go tumbling backwards falling from the ledge. I barely hear her cry out my name.

Seconds later I am transformed and clawing at the vines on the mountain side. I hold on for dear life and claw my way back up to the top. Her father is in the process of picking her up and I don't wait to pounce on him. He drops her and she lands hard on the ground again. I lose all control, nothing is going to hold me back now and I mean nothing. They keep coming towards me and I hit them hard knocking them out one by one.

Each turn another one comes flying towards me and I claw at them. I open my wide snout and bite one in the neck he falls miserably to the ground. Scolecite holds out both hands for me to stop. I nearly bite him into but I get a glimpse of Azurite behind him still on the ground and the way she looks at me I step back and dare him to jump at me.

"Just go...you done enough here."

I shake my head no.

He turns to look at Azurite and then back at me; he still has his hands in the air trying to calm me down. "Look you scared her; don't you get it she is frightened of you. She is not like you; she will never be like you. Just go, we will take care of her from here."

I know it's all a lie. He is just saying those things for me to leave her here. They nearly killed her and if I choose to leave her here who is to say that they will not finish her off. I look over at her and it's like I can feel what she is feeling. I know she is not scared of me; she has never been scared of me. I don't realize that he is just trying to play me.

Malachite comes up behind me and zaps me with something and my hind legs give way. What the hell was that? I turn around and strike him with my front paw and he loses his balance falling over the ledge. I'm sure he will be fine I mean it's not like he can't fly. But I was wrong he comes back up riding on the back of a dragon. Shit...this only gets better and better.

Fighting the fairies is one thing...a dragon I'm not so sure of. The dragon opens his mouth and lets out this cry. I'm sure he is calling all the other dragons to come. Of course Malachite only smirks. I am about to go at it when she calls out. "Silver...stop...there is no use in fighting...they will win."

I can't believe she doesn't think that I will win. I dig my front paws into the ground. I will fight till the bitter end. I was just about to pounce at the dragon when she steps in front of me.

"Stop...please!" She turns around to look at them. "Stop this...this has to stop before we all die. Please I will stay here if you promise to let him go."

I growl a low growl, almost hissing under my breath. She turns back to look at me. She is so close to me that she places a hand on the side of my head and kisses my cheek. "Take me with you...now...follow the sound of the falling waters...run like the wind and don't look back."

I nudge her with my nose. She turns back around and looks at her dad who is getting back up on his two feet. "I love you...I will always love you. Please stop this hate...this fighting...please before you get hurt."

Malachite hisses, "Step away from him, let him go."

I watch as she nods in agreement but when she turns to look back at me I grab her with my front teeth and throw her up in the air. She comes landing on my back and I take off like lightening. I run into the deepest darkest part of the cave. I listen for the falling waters as she tries to guide me out of there. I feel them on my tail.

"Silver...don't look back...don't ever look back...just go!" She holds on for dear life as I turn left and right and left again, dodging the sides of the cave.

I hear the cave around us caving in behind us. They are trying to keep us here, trap us for eternity. I pick up speed and the moment I see the water I know we are free. I bound forward but not sure if I can just jump and it's like she knows what I am thinking. "Silver you will be fine...we will be fine trust me. Close your eyes, hold your breath and just go for it...do it Silver...jump!"

I turn my head long enough to see that the cave is for sure closing down around us. I know that once we are out that no one will ever be allowed to come back here and no one will ever be allowed to escape again. There is no going back. I turn back around and face the rushing waters. I pray that we actually make it. I leap, letting the water rush over me. In seconds we are falling. I quickly turn my whole body, placing her into my chest. I hold her tightly embracing her for the impact of the water below. I come this far there is no way that I am going to let her get hurt.I land with my back against the water, taking the breath out of me.

In the middle of the fall I transformed back to my normal self. We sink to the bottom and I feel her pulling on me to get me to wake up. I come to and see her under the water panicking for me to move. The moment our eyes meet she smiles and then I smile back at her. We swim up together, both of us gasping for air when we make it to the surface. The only thing that I can think of at the moment is pulling her into me and never letting her go. She wraps her arms around my neck and I'm not sure what comes over her but her lips are on mine and I kiss her back madly.

She looks back at me and then up to the waterfall. "We did it...you did it!" She smiles at me but then she busts out crying.

Azurite:

I watch as he fights them all off. I watch as he slams into one and then another. I know that they will keep coming and when they can't fight any longer they will bring the others...the dragons, the giants and anyone that is summoned to fight. He will die here in this land and so will I. I have to do something. The moment Scolecite steps in front of him, a part of me is scared because I also still have feelings for him. I know he will never be mine but I will never forgive myself if anything bad happens to him. When the dragon flies up I know it is about to go down and there is no returning back.

I force myself to stand up. "Silver...stop...there is no use in fighting...they will win."

"Stop...please," I beg Malachite... "Stop this...this has to stop before we all die. Please I will stay here if you promise to let him go."

I know it ticks Silver off because behind me I hear and feel his growl as if he is begging for me to move out of the way for him to attack the dragon. I know that is what he really wants but I'm not going to let him die, not like this. I turn and stare him down. Maybe he will realize that I am only doing this for him...for us. I reach out and touch his sleek fury hair and kiss his cheek. Then I whisper only for him to hear me. "Take me with you...now...follow the sound of the falling waters...run like the wind and don't look back."

He nudges me with his wet nose.

I turn back around to see my dad getting up. I see the hurt in his eyes. I never meant to hurt him or my mum. "I love you...I will always love you. Please stop this hate...this fighting...please before you get hurt." I know he will never let me go.

Malachite hisses, "Step away from him...let him go."

I nod slowly and pretend to start walking away, when I feel his teeth jerk me in the air. I was surprised that it was actually a soft bite, not like digging into me. I fly up into the air and land roughly on his back. The moment he realizes that I am actually holding on he takes off running into the darkness. I shouldn't look back but I do. I see them chasing after us. This is so not going to end the way I hope.

"Silver...don't look back...don't ever look back...just go," I beg him to run. Everything around us is slowly caving in. I'm sure Malachite has something to do with it. He never expects us to survive. Silver starts to slow down and I have a feeling that he is not going to make it. He has to speed up; he has to keep going. "Silver you will be fine...we will be fine trust me. Close your eyes, hold your breath and just go for it...do it Silver...jump."

I see the falling water; I know what is behind it. I close my eyes and hold on for dear life. If we make it out of here then everything will surely change. In seconds we are falling. In mid air he turns his body around and pulls me so tightly into him and I know that he is only trying to protect me. I don't fight back. I feel his body hitting the water with a loud thump and his hold eases up on me. I hold my breath as we go all the way under.

When we stop, I look up at him and he has his eyes closed. He is back to being the normal being that he is. I don't know how he transforms back that quickly but he did and I wonder if his power is all gone.This can't be happening. I pull on his arm. I want him. I need him to wake up. This can't be the end of us.I pull again really hard. I have to get him out of the water because I know that he can only last so long being under the water. I gasp, holding back tears.

When I pull again he slowly opens his eyes and every little molecule in my body relaxes. We swim up together, both of us gasping for air when we make it to the surface. I look over at him to see that he is alive and I leap over into his arms. That feeling that I always get when he is close to me comes again and I know...I know what I want more than anything at this very moment. I want him; I want to feel his lips on mine.

The moment our lips touch I feel like I can stay like this forever just me with him. I pull away from him for a split second just to look up at the falls. They are so high up and at that drop I'm actually surprised that we both made it out alive.

"We did it...you did it!" I look back at him and smile the biggest smile I have ever had but the all the emotions surround, flooding my thoughts and I bust out crying. Everything has changed, everything. I'm not sure if it good or bad but I know that I will be with him from this moment on.
