I'm not ready to let her go. If it was up to me we would stay right here like we are for the rest of the day however I don't realize we have an audience watching us. A bright light flickers in my face blinding me. I turn to see Kaine standing on the bank flashing a flashlight in our direction."Dude...come on that thing is bright."

"Holy...hell...I thought I was going to have to send out a rescue party. Where the hell have you been man?" He shines the light in her face and his tone changes in his voice. "And why is she here? I thought you were taking her back home." He stares back at me like I have lost my mind.

"I'm right here and things change." I swipe at the air of light in my face. "Seriously man do you mind?"

"Oh...sorry. So are you going to get out of there or stay in there all night?"

I shrug my shoulders and turn back to her. "I guess we need to get out of the water." She starts to giggle."What is so funny...come on we can't..."

 She keeps looking down at the water and I'm lost for a few seconds and then it dawns on me that I'm freaking naked. Why is it that every time that I change my clothes just happen to fall off; what is with that? I start to blush. I glance back up at Kaine. "Hey...man do you have an extra set of clothes I can use?"

"Maybe back in the Jeep; why they stole your clothes off of you too?" he starts to laugh as he walks away towards the Jeep. I turn and smile at her and she is looking at me like she can't possible get out. I yell out at Kaine while not taking my eyes off of her, "Hey bring me that blanket in the back will you and an extra shirt if you got one."

"Yeah...yeah...yeah," he yells back. He comes back with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I climb out and he hands me a towel as well.

 I start to dry off with him standing there watching me. "What man...I told you I needed clothes." It's not like we haven't seen each other naked, hell we practically grew up together.

"Yeah...but I didn't realize you were completely naked...damn bro where the hell are your clothes?"

"I will explain later." I hold my hand out in front to him and twirl it around to let him know that he needed to give her some privacy. He gives me a look like I got to be kidding.

"Dude...really."

"Fine, I'm turning around. It's not like I haven't ever seen a girl naked before you know." He turns around and I turn back to Azurite and hold out my hand for her.

She climbs out and I immediately wrap the blanket around her trembling body. "Are you cold?" Her bottom lips quivers and as I wrap my arms around her body slightly shivers. "We need to get you warmed up then. Come on let's get out of here."I lead her to the Jeep and I let her climb in the back first.

The blanket falls and I reach down quickly to pick it back up. I glance up at Kaine looking at her. I'm sure she didn't notice him staring at her back. I glare at him and shake my head no to keep his mouth quite. Her back still has raw spots from where the limb of the tree whipped her. I'm sure it will take months to heal and if it doesn't get attention soon it looks like it just might start to get infected. She also still has the edges from where her wings were. I have to explain to him later what really happened.

When she sits down I hand her the blanket to wrap back around her and then I sit down beside her. I let Kaine drive the Jeep back to the Reservation. I let her lean into me and I have a feeling she might have dosed off. I look up for a second to see Kaine staring back at me through the rearview mirror and I know he is dying to ask me questions. I give him the look and he shakes his head not to mention rolling his eyes like I have to be one messed up bro to want to deal with any of this.

When he pulls up and puts the Jeep in park, I nudge her, "Hey we are here; time to wake up." She looks up at me with this light blue glow to her eyes, nothing compared the first time that she looked at me. She is slowly losing the glow in her eyes. She looks so tired that I end up picking her up in my arms. She lets her head fall against my chest and I carry her all the way in. Every now and then I will hear a light moan come from her lips.

My grandfather looks over at me and nods for the ok. I take her to the back room and lay her down on the bed. "I will be right back alright let me see if I can find you something to put on." I go back to the other room and search for something for her to put on so that she will not be seen the way she is. I find a thin dress and it will have to do for now.

I start to walk back to the room when I am stopped. "What are you doing son; she can't stay here."

"She has no other choice. I will explain later." I push past him and held back towards her.

When I enter the room she is lying down but once she sees me she sits back up, letting the blanket fall to her waist exposing the whole upper portion of her. I catch myself staring and suddenly I feel my face heat up and I know I'm blushing. I hold up the dress for her and she doesn't take it. "Azurite...please...put it on." I look up at the ceiling and then towards the wall, anything to get my attention besides her being naked.

"Fine...but it's not like you haven't seen me already. I don't understand what the fuss is all about."

Once it is on I sit down beside her. "Maybe you should get some rest for now. We had a busy day and I know you have got to be tired." What I really wanted to do was hold her and make passionate love to her but I know she is not really ready for that and I am not about to push her.

"You lay down beside me...please." She reaches over and places her hand on top of mine.

"Azurite...I shouldn't..."

Her eyes start to water up and I hate seeing her this way. "Please...don't leave me," she whispers. I run my other hand through my hair and grunt a low growl. This girl is going to get me in so much trouble.

I lie down and pat my chest and she gradually falls into the spot I was tapping. I wrap my arm around her and hold her close.

"Silver," she whispers out my name to get my attention.

"Uhm!" I reply almost asleep myself.

"I'm scared," her voice starts to faultier and I know there are tears behind those words.

"Of what? I got you; I won't ever let anything bad happen to you again."

"I know...but what if...what if I should have stayed there? What if I don't make it here in this land? Silver there is just so much that I...I...I don't know about here and what if..."

I turn on my side forcing her to look into my eyes. My hand brushes her hair out of her face and then I wipe the lonely tear that escaped. "Azurite...you are going to be alright. I got you."

I rub her cheek lightly and then brush my thumb against her trembling lips before leaning closer into her and rest my lips against hers. She lets out a light moan. It takes everything in me not to touch her. Instead I fall backwards landing back down on the pillow and let her snuggle up against me. We both fall asleep.

 I'm not sure how long I was out before someone is nudging me. When I look up my grandfather has his finger against his lips for me to be quite. I slowly move her off of me and lay her head on the pillow and get out of the bed. I follow him to the other room.

"Please let me explain." I run both hands through my hair before sitting down in front of him.

"You have a lot to explain...for starters what are you doing? You can't just lay in the bed with her...have you two..."

"No..." I stop him before he says what I know he is going to say. "No...it's not like that. I took her back like you asked me to, those people are cruel. If you only saw what they did to her you would have saved her too."

"We can't save everyone Silver. She doesn't belong here."

"She has nowhere else to go. I promised her that I would take care of her."

"Silver," he says my name with such disappointment, not believing that I could just get by with this. I know what he is thinking, that I made one of the biggest mistakes in my life but he just doesn't understand that I am actually in love with her.

"No...I promised her. You wouldn't believe the things I saw there in her land. There were dwarfs, giants, fairies and dragons....dragons of all things and everything comes to life there like for real the trees like understood everything and the plants...I'm telling you it was unbelievable. Her land was like stepping into some fantasy book that came to life. You wouldn't believe it, heck I hardly believe it myself."

"Silver."

"No you have to believe me and something happened to me when I was there...I...I turned into this creature...this wolf like beast. How is that possible?"

He stands up and walks back and forth and when he hears me say that I transformed he stops to look at me. "You did...you really changed?" he says it like he knows something.

"Yes...how is that possible?"

He shakes his head and sits back down beside me. "You have the gift. You figured out how to become within. You're grandfather said it was always possible but none of us have ever seen it."

"I had to fight for her. I know you think I should have not got involved with their business but she is my business. She really had wings. That whole time she kept telling us about her wings and her dragon, it was all real. She really had a dragon but when the chief there found out that she brought me back he punished her."

He looks down and covers his mouth for a second as if he was thinking the worst case scenario. "What was the punishment?"

I lean over placing my elbows on my lap, looking down between my legs towards the floor. I take in a long breath and then slowly let it out. "He broke her wings, snapping them as if they were so fragile like a freaking twig. It was the worst thing that I have ever seen. He took her wings; can you believe it of all things that made her who she really was he took them and it killed Rowan." I close my eyes thinking back to that time...I can't get the vision out of my head or the gut wrenching screams from the both of them. I look up at him with tears in my eyes. "He killed her dragon. He would have killed her too. I couldn't leave her there...I couldn't."

"I understand."

"Grandfather..." I look up and back at him. "I think she needs medical attention. He had the vines hold her down and the tree came to life and struck her shredding layers of her skin on her back. I noticed it earlier and it's starting to look like its getting infected. I can't take her to the hospital because they will ask too many questions and we won't be able to explain where her wings were. You got to help her."

He looks over at me but then I notice that he looks past me. I turn to see Azurite standing in the door way and the look on her face kills me. Maybe I shouldn't be talking about her without her but she's going to need help. Her face turns a pale white and I watch as her eyes start to roll in the back of her head. I jump up and run to her before she crashes to the floor.
