1. Becoming
Harry Potter, five years graduated having gone back to school for his final year, stood outside of the castle he'd called home for seven years. The gates, familiar and yet so grand, opened before him and he reminisced over his years. They hadn't been the safest, but they were nowhere near as boring as his primary school years had indicated.
He pushed the door open and made a bee-line for the headmistress's office. The times there had been varied, including (but not limited to) moments of serene peace inside of the pensieve, anger at Sirius's death and tearing the office up and panic as he reported Arthur Weasely's injuries. Headmistress Minerva McGonnagal stood outside the once gargoyle. The professor had turned it to two unicorn statues rearing at each other.
"Mister Potter." She greeted. "Are you here for what I assume you are?"
"Defence teacher, yes."
"You'd better come in, then." Minerva gave a password to the statue, which leaped aside gracefully. "Do you have a resume with you?"
"Yes!" Harry exclaimed. Hermione had reminded him. The resume looked something like:
Killed Voldemort, an evil dark wizard.
Auror for five years
Defeated Voldemort, a dark lord, six times.
Reccomended by Minister for Magic, etc.
He had realised he hadn't actually done much with his life in terms of jobs, however, to become an auror was usually enough. McGonnagal laughed. "Harry, I was there. That was a joke."
"Oh." He blushed. "Okay."
"Hired!" She led him to his new office. "Classroom attached."
The classroom was long, floor of stone and the desks were wooden and organised into an exam format. "Can I move the tables?"
"Of course. We aren't savages."
When he entered his office, it was bare. He had seen the Defence room go through changes, from Umbridge's sickly sweet pink to Remus's simple design. He had never seen it bare. "Transfigure anything you want!" McGonagall called, heading out.
Harry rolled up his sleeves and got to work. His wand was out with a flick and he first transfigured a quill into an oak desk with two drawers. He made a cushion a comfy blue armchair before changing the desk to be taller and wider to accommodate his seating. Then, he made pencil pots and pens out of a paperclip and put pictures of his friends, his wife and himself on the desk. He turned the stone floor into a gold carpet and the walls to a smooth green.
He then went shopping in Diagon Alley. He had millions, time to make it worth it.
He started by going into Flourish and Blotts and picking his book for the year. He ended up with Fantastic Creatures and Where to find them for fourth years and up, along with other books to actually learn Defence. Given they would defend against creatures, he figured it was helpful. Then, he went to Ernest's Trunk Tribute and bought an expensive one with a magical apartment compartment, along with a library, a potion lab and a closet.
He bought many robes for his year at Hogwarts but then, out of the corner of his eye, saw a shop. Teddy's Trinkets. Curiosity piqued, he entered.
FRIDGE: PUT ANY FOOD OR DRINKS IN AND ALWAYS IN STOCK
It was only 200 galleons and Harry quickly exchanged the money. He ordered a Butterbeer at the Leakey Cauldron and slipped it in the fridge before chugging the entire thing.
He left, extremely happy with his purchases.

Harry hung upside down on the Whomping Willow. He was bored. It would take three hours for the students to arrive and McGonagall wanted him to introduce the students to Hogwarts after Hagrid had left to be a dragon trainer. He had scaled the tree with great difficulty and now was bored again. He jumped down and headed to Hogsmeade.
He bought one of each sweet that he liked at Honeydukes to slip into his fridge later. Harry walked to The Hog's Head and grabbed some food. Then, he apparated to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
"George! How are you?" He yelled. George Weasley miraculously appeared and grinned. "As well as can be expected, Harrikins. Now, did you want anything?" Harry smiled.
"I'm teaching defense this year. I'm wondering what stuff you have for me." At this, George got even more excited. "First lesson: throw the darkness powder and emerge then yell 'Constant Vigilance."
"Rip." Both muttered. "It's what he would want."
"Then, you try and convince everyone to have some sweets." George talked through his plans, insisted on selling the objects for half price since Harry had helped start the business and let him go.
Harry apparated to the dock and waited out the last two minutes talking to the Squid, who was holding him on a tentacle. The students arrived and the Squid gently put him down.
"First years!" He yelled with a Sonorous. All the littlest ones rushed towards him as the other years squeezed towards to the carriages. He called the boats and the first years clambered in, each vying to sit in their friend's boats. "Onwards!" He called and the boats flurried to move.
As they pulled to a stop, the stidents gasped and stared at the castle.
"Welcome to Hogwarts."
