Third person P.O.V

(Day when Taehyung left)

He dragged his feet impossibly badly, all he could see was the darkness invading his sight. He had no idea where to go or what to do.

"H- help.." He muttered under his breath as his body was giving up totally. He found himself near a dark alley, quite far away from the hotel where he was staying with Jungkook. Only the thought of his name caused him to shiver up under the effect his body was feeling.

He slumped down or more like fell limp on the concrete floor of the street. His body throbbed in pain due to the curse while his heart ached due to distance from his human. But he had to do it, for his human safety, for his love.

The brown head lolled back and softly hit the wall behind his body, he felt like drifting into a deep slumber, an uncomfortable one. He was afraid that if he actually shut his eyes, he would never be able to see the world again... no crabbie... no dolphie... no hyungs... and the most dreaded one, no Jungkook.

Just the thought of it made him sob lightly, his precious tears fell on his lap or precisely on the hoodie... most importantly Jungkook's hoodie.. the only thing keeping him sane for the time being.

"I- don't want to die-" He mumbled in a whisper and his eyes shut closed the next moment, too exhausted by the torment of the curse. 

"You won't die like that. Come back to us, come back to your own world.. and everything will be fine like before..we are waiting for you."

The same voice he heard but he only heard it this time, he wasn't dreaming but was conscious enough to feel the cool breeze hitting his face. The next thing he knew was the sudden change in his body.

What feels like an eternity, he opened his eyes slowly, and felt a warm flow over his body, someone gently nudging his neck with a soft round thing.?

He whipped his head to the side to see his old friend who clicked in happiness seeing him awake after a long wait of days and nights.

"D- dolphie?" Taehyung was so shocked by the view in his eyes. His panicked eyes roamed the surrounding and he found himself laying on the wooden rack that he once dragged to his home.

He was there... he was home. Sitting up with great difficulty, he felt a few pieces of seaweed around his injured wrist, the one which is used to heal wounds. Next, his eyes fell on his tail which was swinging freely in the water currents, Jungkook's hoodie attached to his upper body.

The dolphin clicked again to gain his attention and he did so, looking at her with wide eyes holding so many questions.

"H- how?" She flipped his body once before nudging his side again and swimming forward and then coming back to repeat the action.

Taehyung quickly understood and slowly started swimming behind the dolphin. His body ached a bit as it's been so many months since he swam like that. A wave of pleasure did hit his body when he finally started enjoying the swim after so long, hands straight on his sides and his tail flipped so beautifully under the seawater.

He stopped when he saw the castle, the hidden place under the deep sea that no human could explore till now and won't be able to do so even in the future.

"Why?" He asked dolphie who quickly swam inside the castle while he felt himself falling in the water till he felt someone stopping him from falling anymore. He looked up with his tired eyes to see his king.. a siren.. a real siren.

"I'm happy that you're out of danger now," King said with a proud smile, one of his tentacles had a grip around Taehyung's waist, firm yet gentle. 

Taehyung slightly bowed to his king and wanted to scoot away from the uncomfortable position but the king didn't let go. It was the first time he saw the king in his life and now when he could hear his voice live, he quickly understood that it was always him who communicated or more like gave him threats back then. A wave of sudden anger bubbled up in his body and he slightly pushed away the tentacle, his body swimming a bit farther.

"If you mean danger by my human, then you're so wrong." Taehyung spat on him and with a jerk, he was swimming away from the castle. Dolphie quickly swam behind him with a little panic, she was trying to stop the merman by nudging his tail over and over again but Taehyung was so hurt and angry to feel that.

He lost count of time and days as he kept crying for his human, having no idea how other was doing. Until one day he found the king in his home. The place was surrounded by many submerged plants and keeps, a little effort to make him feel at home. 

"You should be alive. You are a special merman and you should try to increase your kind." King said in a very serious tone but Taehyung was just sitting on the slightly rotten log.

"Taehyung!"

Again no response, the other looked so fragile, so silent.. so weak and broken.

King sighed patting Taehyung's shoulder to which the latter flinched and scooted away with a frown.

"You need to forget him-"

"Can you forget the queen?" Taehyung sounded nonchalant and King was taken aback but calmed quickly.

"You don't belong to the land, you belong here, raise your kind and be happy." Taehyung chuckled bitterly at that and looked up with his tired eyes at the King.

"I'll prefer to die like that rather than being touched by anyone else except for my mate."

It wasn't the first time, King continued talking to him about the same thing but Taehyung was losing his mind slowly. He barely ate or swim in the water, mostly crying for Jungkook or just sleeping with little hope to see him.

Days passed away quickly for his friends who were always by his side, trying to make him happy but to no avail.

Crabby clicked while dolphie also flipped to make some moves that used to make the blue-haired giggle but now he was just... just looking in the void, his once sparkly eyes were so dimmed, hurting the sea creatures.

The pile of pearls was increasing day by day and King was so worried about his behavior. He thought that time will heal the other's wounds but it was totally the opposite. He felt so guilty for putting up the curse on Jungkook just to bring Taehyung back. Why? Because once Taehyung tried to kill himself by gulping down his own tears (pearls) and if it wasn't for the other merman named Hobi, he could've died on the spot.

It wasn't for that time only, King ordered him to stay at the castle to keep a close eye on him but still, he tried to kill himself. Because of his behavior and his cracked-up feelings, all the sea creatures were feeling so bad for him. It was for the first time that a merman found a human as his mate as no one survived on the land before, that's one of the reasons that Taehyung was so special.

He was blessed with so many powers, some related to physical strength but mostly his aura to control water but no one taught him how to do so until he broke the shield last time and did so unconsciously.

"We can't keep him like that, he will only fall more." Queen said to the king as she also visited the merman only to feel hurt for him.

It was supposed that Taehyung would be the next king, based on his powers but no one told him that yet.

"Who would be the next king then?" King said worried but the queen made sure to find someone who can do so by his will after talking with Taehyung because they still have one choice, a chance to save the once bubbly merman.

"You still want to go back?" Queen asked Taehyung who was laying on the rock covered with fluffy weeds to provide softness.

Taehyung just blinked once and his tears again started to fall from his eyes. Queen felt so bad for the poor merman and scooted near him to caress his cheeks.

"We can't be together even if- if I go back. The curse-" A sob interrupted him but it was so weak like he was so tired of everything.

"You're supposed to be the next King, because of your powers. That's why I wanted to take you back, your kind needed you. But seeing you like that, I've decided." King announced and Taehyung wasn't much affected by the new information, too hurt to feel anything.

"We can take your powers away from you and then you can go back to him, but then you can never return back to the sea.. you've to forget this. If you're ready, then tell me, you have got this whole night to think." With that king left him, the queen left too after glancing for the last time at the blue-haired.

It didn't take long for him to decide everything and it happened. The day his powers were transferred to Hobi.. he felt totally empty and then he was escorted back to the land.

He woke up on the beach after he knows no limit. Feeling so weak he dragged himself to the hotel where he stayed when he found Jungkook. That's where the guard found him and he struggled because he was afraid but he couldn't fight more and fell in the arms of the other.

(Back to the present day)

Jungkook walked to the unconscious merman (not aware of the reality) and fell on his knees. His sight was so blurry due to the all tears of happiness, his heart leaping inside his ribcage at the sight of his love after so long. 

"Go away, let me see him," Jungkook mumbled wiping away his tears harshly but smiling afterward when he saw the blue-haired so peaceful.

The raven-haired stretched his hand and finally touched the skin to feel the reality and sighed heavily when the soft skin brushed under his fingertips. He couldn't control himself anymore and dived his head down to cry into the other's neck. The girl smiled and left the two alone.

After many minutes of crying, he parted away and again chuckled. He tapped Taehyung's cheek softly, now wanting to see his eyes.

"Taehyung? Wake up bun, please." He softly whispered but Taehyung was totally out cold. His heart swelled up with unknown emotion when he noticed Taehyung was still wearing his old hoodie which was quite in bad condition. Sniffing lowly, he covered the other with the coat that he wore for the dinner and sat beside him.

He decided to wait till morning and then was again in his car, not before thanking the staff hundred times.

His happiness started fading away as Taehyung was still out and showed no movement at all. He was getting worried and even tried to make other drink some water but it didn't work. His heart dropped when he saw a burn mark on Taehyung's wrist, adding to his dread. Speeding up the car, he reached his house quickly and called his hyung in no time.

"Oh God! It's really him.. but his hair." Jin gasped when he saw the blue-haired boy on the bed. Namjoon was taking a check-up on the other and sighed loudly.

"What's wrong with him? W- why isn't he waking up?" Jungkook was beyond worried, rubbing his palms together.

"He looks fine, though his heartbeat is still abnormal," Namjoon replied with a frown.

Jimin and Yoongi were also there, they received a call from Jin who informed them about Taehyung's appearance while crying happily. It's been months and the commotion about Taehyung was already faded. So, they were not afraid of that anymore.

Jungkook marched to Taehyung and kissed his forehead, his tears fell on the other's cheek during that. Others silently looked up at him and Jin patted his shoulder, himself feeling very concerned about the blue-haired.

"Wake up, please. I want to see your eyes, your smile.. please wake up.. please." Jungkook nuzzled his nose in Taehyung's face and then neck but stopped when he realized that he might hurt other by that. With a heavy heart, he pivoted on his heels to leave but he halted the next moment.

"J- jung- kook." A very hoarse and cracked voice stopped him and all others as well.

Faster than light, Jungkook turned his head to see Taehyung opening his eyes, fingers curling on the shirt of Jungkook.

"Oh Tae," Jungkook whispered, falling back on the bed and helping the other to sit up a bit but it was totally different feeling when Taehyung hugged him so tightly like if he let go, he will disappear.

Taehyung's muffled cries filled the room and all others felt their eyes watering at the reunion of the two.

"Shh, you're here finally. I m- missed you a lot.. so much." Jungkook embraced the blue-haired so warmly that Taehyung felt like melting under the touch. He could still smell the sweet scent of his human and felt contented with the touch on his back.

"M- missed-- too." His words came out broken but no one minded as they smiled through their teary eyes.

Jungkook slowly tried to move away but Taehyung didn't let go and shook his head, arms tightened more around the fragile male... he was indeed afraid. Jungkook sensed that and others too but he knew that Taehyung needed a bath. He did smell like the sea and was still wearing that torn hoodie of his, that was reaching to his thighs.

"You need to take a bath Tae, you need water." Jungkook softly said and Taehyung sobbed more at that. Jungkook was getting impatient but somehow he managed to take the other to the bathroom and put him in the bathtub.

Taehyung was still sobbing but felt so happy at the same time. Soon his sobs died slowly when Jungkook joined him in the tub with his clothes still on. He helped Taehyung to take off his kind of whithered hoodie.

He let out a sigh when Taehyung leaned over his chest, bareback touching the other's clothed chest.

Jungkook started playing with his blue strands as Taehyung was playing with Jungkook's fingers of the hand that was placed on his stomach.

"Why you left me like that? I- I was so worried Tae... so so worried." Jungkook breathed out and felt other tensing in his arms.

"The curse, you were going to d- die because of me. I needed- to leave with the curse... so that you can live happ- happily." Taehyung explained now after all Jungkook deserved to know the truth.

"But, everything is fine now." Taehyung smiled, turning his head slightly to see into Jungkook's eyes.

Jungkook was confused but he couldn't help but kiss his forehead affectionately.

"No one will be hurt now. You can be close to me... touch me... love me. Nothing can stop us now." The fluent words of Taehyung caught Jungkook's heart and he pulled back to see those sparkling eyes and smiling face.

"Really?" Jungkook's eyes widened happily. Taehyung nodded cutely and moved his body to wrap his arms around Jungkook's neck and pecked his nose making the aforementioned scrunch his nose cutely and Taehyung giggled at that.

Jungkook's hand traveled down from Taehyung's waist to his back, one hand on the back while the other in his hair, eyes looking at his innocent love.

His eyes widened in horror when his hand traveled more down his back, only to feel smooth skin... no scales. He quickly moved his eyes to locate a specific tail but found none. His panicked eyes met with Taehyung's calm ones.

"Tae?"

"Shh... I wanted you.. nothing else is important to me but you." Taehyung replied as his eyes glistened a bit. He still felt that emptiness in his body and soul but after seeing Jungkook by his side, he felt the sacrifice was worth it.

Jungkook was beyond speechless when the words dawned upon his heart, he felt the tears on his cheeks but Taehyung was fast to kiss those away.

"Don't cry, please. I can still feel your emotions though... this time it's not because of my powers but the beautiful bond that we call love. "

Jungkook was really short of words because the second time... Taehyung sacrificed... he sacrificed his powers and his normal life for him. He just hugged the other and silently cried, Taehyung also cried in happiness, in the arms of his human.

Taehyung did tell him about everything that happened in the past months and apologized that he won't be able to make more pearls for the other to which Jungkook scolded him saying that he never liked his tears, just his smile.

After a long bath, they both changed into Jungkook's clothes of course and joined their Hyungs in the living room.

Jin cooked food with Yoongi and the two found Jimin and Namjoon as their help. When Jungkook carried Taehyung to the couch in the living room, Jimin whistled to make the environment lighter.

Taehyung blushed and hid his face in his palms to which everyone cooed.

"We are going on the tour, now," Namjoon announced and everyone cheered for them but he silenced them all with a gesture.

"Wait wait, there is one more thing. We will be getting married after the tour." And now Jin was blushing so hard that it seems like blood will rush out of his ears.

"We are also planning about that, and he is the one delaying that," Yoongi pointed out casually and Jimin rolled his eyes at that.

Taehyung was smiling and enjoying the little bickering between the two couples while Jungkook was just staring at him lovingly. He was still feeling sad about the loss of the other but deep down he felt relieved that there is no obstacle between them now. They can finally live like a normal couple... like normal humans.

Taehyung fell asleep after dinner because his body was still healing from the loss of powers. After tucking him under the blanket, Jungkook told others what Taehyung did this time and all of them felt so proud of the little boy who was once a merman.

They all bid their goodbye and Jungkook slept so peacefully after months.

He helped Taehyung heal properly, taking care of him after he took some days off from his duties for a while. Time was indeed healing for them as Taehyung felt totally normal after days of coming back to Jungkook and Jungkook.? Well, he was totally healed.

Namjin couple was already gone for the tour while Yoonmin were stuck to dating because Jimin was still in the phase of being courted by the older and Yoongi gladly accepted that as he wanted to earn his love. In reality, Jimin was loving that phase too much to end it quickly. So, Jungkook decided to take Taehyung on a date too.

Taehyung walked out with a shy smile, wearing the clothes that Jimin decided on for his first-ever date definitely after telling him the meaning of a date.

Jungkook, who was waiting for him in the living room, felt his breath hitched when he saw the blue-haired standing oh so shyly in the doorway. (A/n their clothes as above)

"My beautiful boy," Jungkook mumbled, his lips twitching in a proud smile. He walked to the other and grabbed his hands so gently, bringing them up to kiss the soft skin tenderly.

"You look so, so beautiful, bub." Jungkook complimented as he pulled back from the hands and then leaned forward to kiss the other's nose to which Taehyung giggled so sweetly, feeling up the other's heart with warmth.

"You look... handsome, bunny," Taehyung mumbled and giggled more when Jungkook pouted at the last word but before he could attack him like a tickling monster, Taehyung sprunt away from him, running and giggling as he entered the car all giddy.

"This boy," Jungkook muttered with a smile and ran behind the other and entered the car silently but as Taehyung was focused on the other side, waiting for Jungkook... he got startled and squealed cutely, hands turning into fists with which he covered his mouth with wide eyes.

Jungkook let out a long laugh at the comical expressions of the blue-haired and kissed his forehead tenderly. 

"Let's go, you little baby boy," Jungkook pecked again before they drove to the side he specially booked for the two. A restaurant near Han river.

Taehyung felt emotional at the sight of the water but Jungkook back hugged him quickly and muttered a long rant of 'i love you' with small pecks on his skin, to remind him of the worth of his sacrifice.

After a royal lunch, they were on a stroll near the river, hand in hand as the wind was making their hairs dance rhythmically.

Jungkook was awestruck by the other's beauty. His lips were so pink now and were barely dry as Jimin taught him well to take care of himself.

Suddenly he stopped right in front of the blue-haired to which Taehyung tilted his head in confusion.

Jungkook brought up his hand and touched the part of the neck that he first touched and got bound with the love of his life. Taehyung closed his eyes as the other's slightly cold fingers brushed slowly over his skin.

"I am so happy to have you here.. with me. You filled up the gaps in my heart that nothing could fill up in past years. I never thought that I would fall for a boy." The raven-haired chuckled at his word while Taehyung pouted but he pecked that in an instant leaving the latter all red.

"More precisely a merman but the special one.. the one who can rule my heart like no one... the one who can make me crazy... the one who is just for me." Jungkook's voice got lower as he removed the remaining distance, placing his one hand on Taehyung's waist as the other was still on the neck.

"Who's love is so precious... so innocent... yet so deep." He breathed out, his warm breath fanning over others' lips and Taehyung gulped visibly, feeling all tingly at the close proximity. 

Jungkook moved forth to touch his nose on the other's cheeks, leaving butterfly kisses here and there, enjoying the tenderness of the smooth skin.

Taehyung smiled fondly and sneaked his hand around Jungkook's neck to complete the other's words.

"Yes, our love is so deep that no force can separate us... it's so deep... and now I am sure that it's-

Deeper than the sea."

"The end"

"Love? It's always so deep when it comes to the person you want. But the desire to make them happy and to sacrifice everything for them is what makes it deeper... Deeper than the sea."
