Taehyung woke up when they were already on the road. The wagon bumped side to side as his eyes peeled open seeing the canopy of leaves. Sitting up and rubbing his eyes he looked around seeing Namjoon in wolf form with Jungkook and Jimin on his back pulling the cart. "Morning Tae," Yoongi said softly scarring closer to him.

Tae just looked down at his hands that were tightly clasped together. "If you don't want to be here you might as well leave," the red-headed fox snapped "not like mates mean anything," he said standing in the wagon looking down at him.

"Hoseok!" Jin cried standing up. "Don't ever say that again," he said sternly.

"Why should i listen to you? You're babying the human who wanted to be mated but changed his mind,"

"He never said he wanted to leave us, Hobi," he said a little more firmly and lower in tone.

"He wants to, he never wanted us!"

Namjoon loud growl and snapping teeth got their attention as they all looked towards him. Namjoon's eyes were narrowed at Hoseok in a warning.

Taehyung just sniffled and bit and tried to hide. "Hobi, you're being mean. Tae never said he wanted to leave us, that is his family so he is sad they want to hurt us. You're the one being inconsiderate of your mates" Jin said.

Hoseok snorted and started laughing "He was like this when Jimin was mated first and now he is acting like this again. When will you guys see that his mate mark means nothing!" He cried out.

"His mate mark means everything yours does!" Jin shouted back.

"No, it doesn't. I've never had any second doubts,"

"You're having second doubts about him," Jin said.

They heard two squeals seeing Jimin and Jungkook land in the dirt while Joon shifted back to human form. He walked over to Hoseok and sighed disappointedly. "He is as much our mate as you are regardless of his family," he told him sternly. "He is your mate too so it is your job to make sure he is happy just like you would Jungkook or Yoongi,"

Hoseok's teeth showed in almost a growl in distaste. But Namjoon's stern glare made him cower a bit at the alpha dominance.

Yoongi crawled forward and sat next to Tae and leaned his head against him and pulled the covers up higher to their chins. Jimin uncomfortably shifted in the dirt before Jungkook grabbed his hand and lead him to the wagon. While everyone was talking a loud howl was heard.

The mates went silent looking around and listening.

"Taehyung~" a gloomy whisper was heard before a chorus of his name was being spoken.

"Jimin~" another spoke up.

They all turned to Namjoon who wore a stern expression. "Stay low in the wagon under the blankets," he said quietly as he hopped out and shifted back to wolf form and started pulling the wagon quickly.

Jin grabbed all of them putting them under the furs and double counting heads. "Joonie will keep us safe" he assured the squirrel who was shivering next to him.

Tae was on the end next to the mouse. He leaned closer grabbing the soft pink tail and feeling a bit relaxed holding onto something.

Hoseok had his arms around Jimin who was also cuddling the squirrel as they laid down quietly listening to the chanting of their names. Jin softly brushed the squirrel's hair kissing his head while holding his arm to Hoseok cuddling the three of them.

Another howl sounded closer making them shake violently as loud growling by the cart was heard. Taehyung squeezes Yoongi closer to him. "It's ok Tae baby" Yoongi cooed kissing his brow as his name was called with such sickly sweet syllables that he wanted to vomit.

The wagon stopped rather violently making them all slide a bit under the furs. Namjoon's clear growl was heard. Namjoon watched the alpha from his other pack stood in wolf form blocking their path.

The alpha didn't move as the stood his ground.

We were leaving as you asked.

Namjoon tried again because he didn't want to fight. He wasn't stronger. He needed to keep his mate's best interest in mind.

An interesting offer was added to the table. The other alpha said.

Namjoon growled showing his teeth a bit. What offer was added? He thought as he glanced back at the wagon seeing the hybrids moving in closer. He growled snapping his teeth a bit keeping them away for a bit.

Time is running out. The alpha said coyly. His ears picked up other sounds. More wagons and shouting. The clanking of metals. Humans. He ran back to the wagon lifting the blanket off them quickly and using his nose to point to his back. Jin got the message. "Climb," He said pushing them all up.

"Over here!" A human shouted as they went through the clearing seeing the few of them getting on the wolf.

Namjoon helped Jin get up with his nose and was about to run off when Tae shouted. "Dad!" He said falling off the wolf in an attempt to turn around to yell not to shoot because the gun barrel was turned towards them.

He landed on the dirt curling into a ball around his foot. Namjoon without thinking much besides getting them out of there picked Taehyung up with his mouth gently and started to run after hearing the screams get louder. "Taehyung! Jimin!"

And then the only sound was them rushing through the leaves and a single gun shot.
