There was once a little girl

She thought she had everything in the world

She thought that nothing bad could happen to her

She planned out how her life would be

How her dreams were going to go down this path of happiness

And she believed that for years

She always looked into the bright light of life

The good in people

Till

A time came where her kingdom would fall

At this time

She was playing

And then she overheard some things

Things she wasn't supposed to

Yet she didn't say a word

Or act different

Because she was smarter than they thought

Her father left out the door

And she watched

Slowly her castle started to crumble

He didn't come back for a couple of days

And within that time she had but 2 letter taped to her front door

Addressed

Dear Daddy

Signed

Your daughter

And even then

She watched him watch in that night

She watched from the dark living room

Under her covers

As he took the papers and throw them away

She told herself it was a dream

It was all a Dream

And tomorrow

She'd wake up and her kingdom would still be standing

No war

No hate

No hurt

And when the morning came

It dawned on her

And a castle tower fell

And she had to be crowned queen

She had to take it all in her hands

Her father and mother fought all the time now

Broken bottles and dishes

Broken hearts and minds

And so they moved

But then she saw her father with another lady

One from another kingdom

But then it clicked

He went to visit other kingdoms and queens

And that hurt her

She left that kingdom behind

And she build a new one

In a new place

And the wall around it we're tall and strong

And yet they broke again

Her father officially walked out of her life

But he told her he wanted to be in it

So she got good grades

Not only for her mother and siblings but so her father could come to her award ceremonies

But he never showed

She learned to play instruments so he could come to her concerts

But he was always busy

And when the guards from a higher kingdom took him to pay for his sins

For the bad he has committed

The people he has crossed

He was sent to the dungeons

With the other people like him

And she didn't really talk to him anymore

And she moved on

But she had to come to terms that other people from the kingdoms would tell her

That her differences were bad

But she had to kept together so her kingdom wouldn't fall

As time went on she had build her wall up  higher than the eye can see and the only people in her kingdom was her and her imaginary friends

The people she wished were real

No one could come in and no one really left

Many thought this kingdom was hard to reach

So they never went

They never showed

Till knights and some duchesses came

But they lied and backstabbed her

And she had to let them go

And she broke

They were far away now

And the walls fell

They were left like that for away

But there was a Maiden that was standing next to her

Be careful she said

I'm right here she whispered

But the queen was to broken to trust that

As time went on the maiden became a close person

The only person to the queen

But the queen was wounded

And didn't want to get to close to her

For she didn't want to fall again

But it came at a price

She need reassurance from her

That she wasn't alone

But she was to scared to ask

And didn't want to be weak

So the thoughts she had stayed in her

So that the world would know no pain from her heart

And her wounds would heal with the hope of time

So she stands on the edge of her balcony

Watching the sun set

And hoping for someone

For people to come back to her kingdom and revive the place

And those people would laugh

They would dance and sing

And they wouldn't hurt her

But she knew it wasn't like that

Like the stories she had read

So she waits

And hopes that her dreams weren't her nightmares
