Chapter 4 (A new friend.)
Dee quickly left the living room, since it seemed like Virgil was pretty busy doing his own things.
He then went outside, wanting to see what everyone else was doing, since he was quite bored.
Logan was on the grass, reading the book that he had, while the twins were playing swords, and it was hard to say who was winning.
Remus suddenly noticed him, and yelled, "Hey, new kid! Want to play with us?" Dee shook his head, "No, sorry, but thanks.." he replied calmly.
As the two kept fighting, Dee looked at the trees, as the wind was blowing the leaves away. For the first time after many years, it felt so peaceful, It felt safe, he felt like he could trust them... For the first time, Dee wanted to smile happily.
Remus kept looking at him, to the point where he forgot he was fighting.
Roman managed to hit him on the shoulder, it wasn't too hard, though. "Hah, I win this round!" He said, smiling, and chuckling, too.
"Mhm." Was the only thing Remus had quietly said.
"...You kept looking at that new kid, why..?" Roman raised an eyebrow, looking at his twin brother.
"Oh. Well, I just kinda want to be friends with him... He seems like a cool and nice kid, Actually.." Remus replied, finally looking at his brother after a while.
Remus never really had any friends, he only stayed with Roman most of the time. Of course, the other kids in the house also became his friends at some point, even though he never really wanted to talk to them or hang out with them.
"Well, why can't you? Just, talk with him, maybe..?" Roman said.
As for Roman, he was a bit of an extrovert, he liked, hell, even LOVED to talk with everyone in the house, especially Patton, since the two of them were pretty happy children.
"..Brother, you DO realise I have never really talked with any other kids, except you, Right...?" Remus asked, raising an eyebrow.
"...Right.." He quietly replied, looking at the grass.
"Roman, Remus, Dee! Thomas said we have to go back inside! It's going to be windy today, so we don't need anyone to catch a cold." Logan walked up to them as he said it.
He was correct. All four of them looked around, noticing that more leaves were falling from the trees, and that the area got a bit colder than before.
The four of them walked back inside, and the whole house was much warmer than it was outside. Time passed so quickly, that it was already 2 Pm, as well.
Remus quietly sighed, upset that he couldn't play outside for the rest of the day. The four of them took of their shoes, Roman going to the kitchen, and Logan going back into their own bedroom.
It was only Remus and Dee left. The two of them decided to go to the living room, sitting down on the couch. It was silent for a while, since neither of them never knew how to start normal conversations.
Dee sighed, and looked at Remus, who was looking at the floor. "Sooo... How long have you lived here..?" He asked.
Remus slightly flinched, realising that Dee was actually talking to him, and no one else. "O-Oh! Well, right now i'm twelve.. So... about eight months.." He calmly replied, now looking at him, aswell. "But I don't know who lived here the longest."
"Oh, I see.. Do you atleast know who's the oldest out of all of us?"
"Pfft, that would be Thomas!" Remus was joking around slightly, smiling, as he was trying not to laugh out loud.
"..No- I meant- out of all of the kids..?" He simply said, sighing after he finished his sentence.
"Ohhh! Oh oh oh.. Yeah, that would be Logan, then. Right now he's Fourteen if I remember correctly.." Remus replied, chuckling quietly.
"Ah, alright.." Remus noticed how Dee started to smile softly, which was quite unusual to him, probably because Dee was still new in the house.
Remus was about to feel idiotic for asking it, but he wanted to know. "S-So- uhm, does this mean we're friends..?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"..Do you WANT us to be friends?-" Dee got cut off. "Yes..!" Remus replied.
Dee chuckled softly, "All right, then.. We're now officially friends!" He smiled.
