Colin sat there, rolling the tiny stroller with one of his legs, while he held her hand.

"You know how these things are-"

"No, Colin, I don't! She had been through hell and the press is practically trying to infiltrate the hospital..." She threw her hands in the air, clearly frustrated.

Colin recoiled, sensing the familiar tension.

Nobody could calm Ruth when she was angry... He knew that...

But the small twitch didn't escape Ruth's notice, her face softening at the sight of him.

"I... I am sorry... I just don't..."

"I get it... This is all very scary-"

"We thought she was dead Colin! The months of mourning, the grief... I just... I made peace with it, and now? We are woken in the middle of the night, catch the first flight to Faroe, and I can't even understand what the doctors are saying!"

He reached out, caressing her cheek.

"You hug her and tell her you love her... I think that would be a good start..."

Ruth smiled, her eyes sad.

Her head snapped towards the doctor emerging from one of the rooms.

Ruth practically jumped out of her seat.

"How is she feeling? Is everything alright? We came as soon as we could-"

"Your sister sustained heavy injuries... We have found burns, cracked ribs, some internal scarring... But, we are worried that your sister could have sustained severe head damage during resurfacing-"

"Head damage?! Oh my God! Is she-"

"She is stable for now... Even awake... But" the doctor sighed, looking away.

"During the scan, her heart stopped... We don't know why... She is stable and responsive, but we will continue to monitor her-"

"Can I see her? You have said she is awake."

"Yes, you may-"

Ruth didn't let the man finish, bolting past him.

She practically tore the plastic door off the hinges, leaping inside and towards the bed before she stopped.

Her stomach twisted in knots, worry breathing down her neck.

Ruth couldn't see much between the hospital gown and the bandages littering her body.

Only half of her face was visible from under the white gauze.

Her eyes fluttered open, revealing the family green all of the Reeds shared.

"W-what?" she rasped out, looking around in confusion.

"Rowan? It's me! Ruth! I was so worried-"

"Who?"

Ruth stopped in her tracks.

"Y-you don't remember me?"

Suddenly, Reed's eyes widened looking around frantically.

"W-where-"

"Y-you are Rowan Reed... My... My sister? Please... Please tell me you remember..."

A sudden sob ripped out from her sister's throat.

Tears flowed freely down her cheeks.
