Chapter 3
Ena's POV:
Should I call my thoughts illusions or delusions? Which would be the right word?
As my eyes blink open, I feel myself bathed in a cold sweat.
Will these dreams continue every day?!
I should figure out a way to stop them. It can only be done if I find out who this guy is!
My eyelids feel so heavy that I drift off to sleep again. I wake up at 10 a.m. I didn't wake on my own.
I felt something cold trickling down my cheeks, my forehead and my nose. I tried to shake it off my face, but it stays there until I wipe it off my night suit's sleeve. I've still not opened my eyes. That cold thing is splashed again on my face. This time, as a reaction, I jump and sit cross-legged, only to see;
Ivan was splashing water on my face!
"Ivan that's not good. You ruined my beauty sleep."
"Enough of your beauty sleep princess! I'm going to the market. Take care of the house".
I sigh. And as soon as she closes the door, I lay down again. I nearly slept when I hear the doorbell.
She came real quick!
My hair was all messed up and while yawning I opened the door.
Oh shit!
I immediately closed the door and took deep breaths.
'HE' was here. A second doorbell rang. I didn't know what to do. A short while after I heard footsteps move away. And then I heard, with my ear on the door, someone chatting. The door opened after some time and I pushed it back to close it.
Why is he trying to break into our house!?
"It's me stupid"
"Oh, it's you" My cheeks turned pink from embarrassment.
"Yeah, it's me. Are you literally scared of him?"
"I'm not scared. I was just surprised to see him there"
"Uh-huh"
"And out of words too" I looked down so I couldn't meet her eyes.
"What was he talking about?"
"He told me he shifted here recently and thought that it would be nice of him that he should give his 'sweet neighbours' a cake that his sister baked"
"Was it really that?"
She nodded.
"Oh damn".
"Praise to my stupid friend" she had the right to say that to me.
"Did he say something about me?"
"Yeah, he said he recognised you and that you were ill-mannered. I also told him that you are a little crazy" she smiled.
"Ivan"
She ran, and I ran behind her.
Silly girl!
The sun drowned beneath the horizon and the streets lights turned on. The doorbell rang.
Not again!
I opened the door hesitantly. Then I pinched my eyes and said "Sorry!"
"What are you sorry for?"
It was a familiar voice.
"Oh! Elen. Come on in girl."
She frowned.
"What's the case? Why did you say 'sorry'?"
I cleared my throat.
I had to tell her!
So I started and spoke like someone had turned the radio on. And she heard my story...
"This is so cute" I didn't expect this response from her.
"You think it's cute. Huh??"
"It is, you silly girl. You don't know how to deal with something like this. I've got experience in these kinds of matters. Let me tell you."
So she told me something just like this, but it was she in my place in the story. I never knew I could expect that from her. It was kind of emotional and funny story.
"Apart from everything," Elen said lastly, "I came to give you guys an invitation"
Ivan was sitting there as well. "What kind of invitation?"
"Mom's going out of the city for a while. And what can you expect from me"
She smiled, we smiled. I knew what I could expect from her and Ivan would surely know it too.
"I'm throwing a party tomorrow"
The music turned loud. I danced like there was no end. Ivan stood at the table drinking and flirting. I looked at her in surprise.
Heck no!
Elen joined me in the dance. Then we stopped and walked around a bit. She poured me a drink.
"So who else is invited apart from our silly school mates?"
"There's Joe." She pointed at a tall guy, "He's my cousin. I can trust him with this. And there two-three neighbours of mine. And... And ah!"
"What?"
"I invited a special guest"
She looked at her back. I turned around too.
This was the end. I'm gonna kill her for this. I can feel the anger raging inside of me.
"Why did you invite the person I hate the most?"
"I thought you would love it. Ena dear, why would hate a person you didn't even talk to yet?"
She pushed me towards him.
"Elen don't force me to embarrass you in front of everyone present in this party"
"Or...?"
"Or I'm getting out of here now"
"Okay. Okay. Calm down, girl. No offence."
She left me there so I could handle the situation alone. I quickly toppled my way to the refreshments' table in my long heels. In one corner of my heart, I felt sorry for him to be left alone in a party of unknowns.
"Hi"
I turned and nearly spat the drink out of my mouth.
He frowned.
"I'm sorry. I was just really...."
shock.. surpur.. astoni...
None of the words was fitting my sentence.
"Doesn't matter", he said.
He put his hand forward for a handshake.
"Dylan," he told.
I quickly put my hand forward too.
The sudden warmth crept crawling into my cold veins making them burning hot.
I put my hand down.
"Ena"
"Nice meeting you, Ena"
He put a creepy smile on.
I heard Ivan call my name. Thank goodness Ivan called me, on time.
I smiled back.
"Excuse me"
He gave a better smile.
"Oh, I love you so much Ivan for calling me on time."
I hugged her tight.
"Eww. Get off"
"Sorry!"
***
I unzipped my dress and put on my night pyjamas and a T-shirt.
It had been an ugly day.
I picked up the bottle of water from my side table and drank it like a hungry crow.
Oh crap!
I spilt water on my shirt.
I heard a knock on the door and went to open it.
I almost fainted.
DYLAN!
Did he see me in this shit?
I woke up drenched in a cold sweat. Oh, what the heck of a dream that was. I picked the bottle from the table and drank it all. I spilt some of it on my shirt
Oh heck!
"Ivan, did you make breakfast?"
I went out to my lounge.
"See Ena who I invited to breakfast."
I looked on the couch.
DYLAN!!!
