What to do [14]

"What the fuck do I do..?" Jack muttered to the empty space around him, as he was still sitting at his computer desk in his room, utterly alone. He really needed to fix this.

But with Mark now declining his Skype calls, it was pretty much impossible for him to speak with him. Jack didn't just want to leave things as they were. He understood why Mark was upset, he was too. But if they were going to solve this problem, communication was key. However, Mark was just making that a little too difficult.

Feeling extremely stressed out, Jack let out a loud out take of breath, as he pressed his face into his hands and just tried to relax. It was then that he felt someone's arms wrap around his shoulders from behind him in a hug.

"Hey, Signe..." Jack mumbled, without even looking over his shoulder.

"Hey..." She replied. "How's it going? Got things figured out yet?"

"No... Mark won't talk to me..." Jack sighed, sounding hurt and disappointed. "I feel so terrible... I was such an asshole to him before, before I knew of his true feelings and how long he had felt those feelings... I've just, I've screwed up."

"So... The kiss actually meant something to him then...?" Signe wondered. Jack shrugged.

"I guess so... But he never did it as an intention to hurt either of us, he was just upset and just wasn't thinking - but I was so hard on him about it."

"Do you know how you feel about the whole thing yet? The kiss, I mean."

"No... Because he won't talk to me!" Jack whined, pointing at the screen in frustration before dropping his arm down to his side lifelessly.

"I see... Maybe you should go visit him."

"What?" Jack's eyes widened, as he stared at Signe in surprise.

"Yeah, you heard me. Go visit him. Talk to him and just... Find out what you guys wanna do about it."

"But, Signe..." Jack frowned. "I really don't want to make a choice between you guys."

Signe glanced back at him for a moment, before nodding, a determined look on her face.

"Well, you know what? You won't have to make the choice anymore. 'Cause I'm gonna break up with you." Signe said. Jack quickly got out of his seat, his lips trembling.

"Wait, what..?"

"Don't look at me like that, Sean." Signe smiled. "Look, I'm not breaking up with you because I don't like you anymore, or that I don't want to have... I don't know, a future with you. It's just that, your friendship is important. Not just to you guys, but it means a lot to your fans too... And I don't wanna be the girl who forces her boyfriend to choose between one or the other... I just want you to be happy."

"Signe..." Jack murmured, a tear happening to spill down one of his cheeks, before Signe wiped it away.

"We'll still be friends, Sean. I'm not just gonna cut you out of my life or anything. I promise." She said. "Now, book a flight to L.A. Go visit Mark, and talk about what you want to do. Just... Fix it."

"Signe... Thank you... Thank you so much..." Jack cried, giving Signe a close hug, before the two pulled away from each other and Signe gave Jack a kiss on the cheek.

"Go get him." She grinned.

Should I just play some video games..? Or make a video...? I don't even know... I'm not in the mood for anything...

Mark had been sitting at his computer screen for a good few hours, pondering what to do with his time. Jack had gone silent a few hours ago, no longer trying to call him on Skype. Good... That was for the best...

Mark couldn't believe how much he had screwed up. It was his fault that all this happened. If he hadn't had those damn feelings towards Jack, he never would have made a move on him when he was feeling emotional.

Ryan was a good person for trying to stop him, and he was the idiot for going.

Deciding to turn off his computer, Mark went to his bedroom, lazily climbing into the covers, staring into the darkness that surrounded him. The darkness that practically described how he felt inside, as it was almost pitch black.

He was almost drifting off, slipping into a nightmare. A nightmare of seeing everyone leave him. Everyone abandon him. Even Wade, Bob, Ryan, Matt... Even Jack. Why wouldn't he leave him behind? He hated him now.

A loud bang at the door made his breath hitch as he jolted up in bed. He waited, before hearing it again just as loud. Seeming like Ryan and Matt once again weren't going to open the door, he was going to have to go through with opening it again.

Slowly, he approached the door, turning the handle and opening it...

"J-Jack?!" Mark stuttered.

"Mark." Jack said sternly with furrowed brows. He walked right in, lightly pushing Mark back a little, before closing the front door with his foot.

"What are you doing here...?"

"I just... I need to talk to you. About everything."

"W-What?! N-No! Just go back home, Jack! I don't want--"

"Just shut up, Mark!" Jack shouted, putting both hands on either side of Mark's face before plunging his lips to his. Jack needed to do this, to find out how he really felt. To find out if that kiss had really meant anything to him... If kissing him now could have meant anything to him.

Mark stumbled back, continuing to walk backwards before his back ended up hitting a wall. Jack continued to kiss him, moving his hands away from his face and started running his hands through Mark's red dyed hair. Closing his eyes, Mark took Jack right into his arms, moving his lips in sync with Jack's.

He wished the moment could have lasted forever. He really did. It was so magical. But reality always comes back to bite you in the ass.

Snapping his eyes open, Mark quickly pushed Jack off of him, shaking his head.

"We can't, Jack..."

"Mark, what are you--"

"You have Signe!!"

"Who broke up with me." Jack answered, crossing his arms. Mark's eyes widened.

"What?"

"Signe broke up with me. She broke up with me because she wanted me to sort things with you." Jack explained. "I wanted to see if kissing you could have meant anything to me..."

"And did it?"

Jack thought for a moment.

"I think so. It's just confusing, I've never really thought of you that way before. So, it's just new... But yeah. Yeah, I think so." He smiled, causing Mark to smile in return. But then he shook his head again.

"Jack, we can't go together, we just can't."

"What do you mean?"

"You just broke up with Signe, I just broke up with Amy. It would be stupid."

"But--" Jack stopped and frowned. It was true that he had just broke up with Signe. He was obviously upset but... At the same time, he really wanted to see if Mark meant as much to him as his subconscious seemed to think.

"We just can't, Jack... Not now, anyway. I was stupid, and I shouldn't have made that move... Sure, I like you, I admit that... But I'm just... So damn confused right now. And I'm sure you are too..."

"I... guess..." Jack admitted. "Okay, so... Maybe let's not do that right now but... Mark... I'm so sorry."

"Huh?"

"For being such a jerk to you. I shouldn't have acted like that. Especially since you were going through such a tough time after breaking up with Amy. I probably just added to that trouble so... I'm sorry..."

"....It's fine, Jack... I mean, sure, it hurt - the way you were being really cold to me but at the same time I couldn't really blame you. I made a move on you when you had Signe... And that was dumb."

"It's okay, Mark..." Jack answered.

"Look, Jack, I just need to know something... After everything, are we still friends..?"

Jack didn't even need to think about it.

"Of course we are, ya big doof!" Jack laughed.

"I'm glad... Because I was worried you'd hate me..."

"I couldn't ever hate you, Mark. Not ever." Jack smiled, staring right into the American's eyes.

Mark stared back, not saying anything. To tell the truth, he honestly really wanted to kiss Mark again. But it didn't seem like Mark really wanted to do anything about what had happened. At least, not yet. And he respected that.

Nervously clearing his throat, Mark scratched his red hair in thought.

"So, uh... Have you got anywhere to stay...?"

"Well, not exactly."

"I guess you can stay here then." Mark suggested with a shrug.

"Really? Are you sure?" Jack wondered. Mark nodded.

"Yeah... Yeah, I'm sure."

Author note: Again, I just wanna say that I do support the real couple Septiishu, but for the sake of a Septiplier fanfiction... Yeah.
I'm not saying I'd want them to break up IRL cause they are an adorable couple. I just have to clarify this so Septiishu shippers don't get mad with me. ;v;
