"I love you so much" Elena said asthey broke off from the kiss.

"I love you, too. It's been such long two weeks." Elijah said looking at Elena lovingly, then at the baby bump,"How is he?"

"Fine." Elena replied. "We missed you so much."

Elijah smiled a little, "I made your favourite dish. Do you want to freshen up a bit? We'll eat and then you will put your feet up."

"Ok. How have you been. I bet the last few days were tough?"

"I am fine. Everything is healing well. They say that soon I will be my old self." Elijah said

"I am so happy." Elena said and looked around the house the FBI provided for them.

"It's nice. Much bigger than I expected."

"It's a sweet family house." Elijah said.

"I am going to refresh and then we can eat."

"Ok. The bathroom is down there on the left." Elijah said and went to the kitchen to plate the food.

The FBI Agents waited for Klaus at the designated place and the man and the woman after asking about Elijah,"We have been working on the case of people and drug trafficing for a very long time, tailing many involved, but in particular Roberto Ramirez and, adter the picture and description you have given us, an Angent in Mexico confirmed seeing the Katherine Mikaelson with him. There she is known as Katarina Morena, Roberto's lover. The DEA Agents working on your kidnapping case have found out that some of Ramirez' goons have been involved"

"OMG- HUH- This is so mad. So, Katherine could have been involved?"

"We are trying to get someone to say that he or she gave the order. But, it is very clear that she knew about your whereabouts. We have checked your story and there have been some discrepancies with the story of your sister-in-law's and yours. But I presume, you are willing to protect her because of the affair she had with your brother and because she is pregnant. It's all right. Ms Gilbert has told us everything, and she is willing to cooperate, as Mrs Mikaelsons dealings with the drug scene go way back to Mystic Falls and the Salvatore case. She is very valuable as a character witness, and due to all given circumstances, her life might be in danger, too. And we have offered her to enter a witness protection programme until Mrs Katherine Mikaelson is found and arrested."

And so, Elijah, who had been successfully brought out of the coma was explained all.

"I am not leaving without Elijah. His life is still in danger and he is also the father of my baby - can we not go together? Please Agent Moretti?!" Elena said

Both Agent Moretti and Booth understood and went to speak to their superiors to inclued Elijah in the witness protection program. Resulting in faking Elijah's death, giving him and Elena fake identities.

Even though Elena told Matt she was going to Nova Scotia, her destination was a town in Washington State, close to Seattle.

Elena came from the bathroom and sat down at the table.

"Oh, this looks good. Love Carbonara."

"I know." Elijah said." I also have chocolate chip cookie fudge ice-cream in the fridge."

"Total indulgement. Can we have ice-cream in bed, because I am so tired."- Elena said.

"Of course, darling"

"Don't take this like I am complaining- I love when you call me darling, but we have to get more into our roles - you are a retired marine now "

"Yes, babe," Elijah said charmingly,"is that correct? I still need to get used to it all. I will show you the photo Agent Booth had made for me."

As they had their dinner, they laid down in the bedroom, and Elijah showed Elena the photos of him as the witness protection programme made. Giving Elijah a whole new identity.

"You look so good in uniform." Elena joked a little giving him a peck.

"Oh, yeah? So you like a man in uniform?!" Elijah chuckled."Not the suave businessman?"

"I love you no matter what you are." the brunette sighed a little."It's going to be so strange calling you Harry."

"And me calling you Nicole." Elijah said.

"And that we are now Mr and Mrs Martin." Elena said.

"Yes. This is the most unusual thing. The worst is that we don't know when we are going to see Klaus and Caroline again?"

"Hopefully it will not take long to find her - you know - I feel like she is not my sister, more like - a strange doppelganger or something. All the way up here I thought of everything she has done and was involved with. It's crazy. She is a total stranger to me."

"I can relate. But enough about her. Here is the ice-cream. I have these cups."

"Just give me the tub." Elena said."Take a spoon. We will eat it from the tub. I know this is not what you are used to- But it is fun to - not have everything served."

Elijah nodded smiling. He got in the bed. And as Elena already had the remote control trying to find a movie for them to watch, Elijah flashed back a tad bit at his billionaire life that he had led. And how now, everything was so much more down to Earth. Simpler. He then looked at Elena, who was so sweet and kind and everything seemed to be easy to her. She was beautiful, loving, dreamy. He now felt extremely blessed.

"What is?" Elena said as she caught him staring at her.

"Nothing. I just thought how lucky I am actually. And that I love you."

"I am the lucky one" Elena said."Come and pick now The shape of water or Atomic blonde?"

"Atomic Blonde."Elijah picked.

"Are you sure? You are not really into action and adventure, spy"

"Well, I am into everything new now, babe" Elijah said.

"Ok. Babe" Elena said and now gave him a little kissing hitting the play button.

Half an hour later, Elena was asleep, snuggled up to Elijah a bit. He put his arm around her and she made herself more comfortable.

Yes, he counted his blessings giving her a peck on the temple of the head.
