Sam, Dean, Jenny and Gordon were all sitting back in the bar. Dean had left over blood on his shirt from decapitating a vampire Gordon attempted to kill.

While Dean and Gordon still seemed to have an okay chat, Jenny and Sam had their arms crossed, frowning.

A waitress walked over and Dean started to pull out his wallet, Gordon doing the same as he shook his head. "No, no, I got it."

"Come on." Dean chuckled, Gordon handing the money to the waitress. "I insist. Thank you, sweetie." The two cheerful men raised their glasses to each other. Sam and Jenny still hadn't moved. "Another one bites the dust."

"That's right."

"Dean." Gordon laughed, setting his glass down. "You gave that big-ass fang one hell of a haircut, my friend."

"Thank you."

"That was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful." Dean smiled and nodded, turning to Sam and Jenny.

"Yep. You all right, Sammy? Jen?" Jenny shrugged, still staring at Gordon.

"We're fine." Sam answered, tilting his head to Dean.

"Well, lighten up a little, Sammy."

"They're the only ones who gets to call me that." Sam snapped quietly, Gordon leaning back.

"Okay. No offense meant. Just celebrating a little. Job well done."

"Right. Well, decapitations aren't my idea of a good time, I guess." Sam continued, and Gordon turned to Jenny.

"I'm not one to chat with guys who know things they shouldn't." Gordon laughed it off, waving his hand.

"Oh, come one, man. You've gotta have a little more fun with your job."

"See? That's what I've been trying to tell him. You could learn a thing or two from this guy." Jenny slowly looked to Dean, giving him a 'what about the thing you said two hours ago' look.

"Yeah I bet I could. Look, I'm not gonna bring you guys down. I'm just gonna go back to the motel." Sam stood up, Jenny grabbing her jacket.

"I think I'll tag along."

"You sure?" Dean frowned at the two, who nodded. They started walking away, Dean calling out to his brother. "Sammy? Remind me to beat that buzzkill out of you later, all right?" He tossed Jenny the keys, and they walked out of the bar.

"I know I only get a sick feeling around monsters and demons and shit. But this feeling? It's telling me I should run away from Gordon." Jenny said to Sam as they walked to the Impala.

"Good thing I'm not the only one."

...

Sam had ended his call with Ellen, looking a bit startled. "What's up, Samurai?"

"Ellen... She said we shouldn't work with Gordon." Jenny scoffed, nodding.

"Well. I can't say I don't agree with her." He shook his head.

"No. She said he's bad news. Like what Dean had said." Jenny frowned, slowly sitting down on her bed. "Do you think we should leave? Find a different case?"

"Well, I've never been a huge fan on decapitation. So I can start looking for a new case." Sam nodded as Jenny reached over to grab his computer. "Hey! I saw a vending machine outside. Could you grab me a soda?" Sam was silent for a moment before nodding. "Great. Or a kitkat if they have 'em."

"Fine. Be back in a sec." Sam walked out of the motel room as Jenny opened his laptop, searching for odd deaths and murders.

After only a few moments of Sam being gone, she heard a strange noise outside the window, quickly standing up and grabbing her gun. Another moment, and two vampires were charging at her.

Jenny ducked as one jumped at her, flipping the vampire onto his back before the second grabbed her by the throat, putting her in a headlock. The second vampire shot up and went to punch her, but Jenny kicked up with both feet, slamming her heels into his chest.

Another moment. The vampire tightened his grip around her throat and she gasped for air. The other vampire slammed his fist into her temple, knocking her out.

"Wait for the other one." The vampire holding Jenny said, dropping her to the floor.

...

Jenny struggled against the restraints that kept her on the chair, trying to toss the bag over her head off. The cloth around her mouth muffled her yell for Sam's name, who responded with a muddle as well.

The bag was ripped off of Jenny's head to reveal the bartender she had met the night before, her eyes widening as he pulled her hair back, revealing his fangs.

"Wait! Step back, Eli." A woman demanded. Jenny watched as Eli backed away from her, revealing Sam tied to a chair.

The woman walked over, removing the gags from Sam and Jenny's mouths. "My name's Lenore. I'm not going to hurt you. We just need to talk."

"Talk? Yeah, okay, but I might have a tough time paying attention to much besides Eli's teeth." Sam looked over to Jenny, desperately trying to flip her hair back to cover the scar on her neck. "Fix her hair." Sam demanded and Lenore looked to Jenny.

"Oh, come on." Lenore walked over to Jenny, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "Better?" Jenny looked over to Eli, who was still baring his fangs. "He won't hurt you either. You have my word."

"Your word? Oh yeah, great, thanks. Listen lady, no offense but you're not the first vampire we've met."

"We're not like the others. We don't kill humans, and we don't drink their blood. We haven't for a long time." Jenny scoffed in disbelief.

"What is this, some kind of joke?"

"Notice you two still alive?" Sam and Jenny shared an unsure look.

"Okay, uh, correct me if I'm wrong here, but shouldn't you be starving to death?" Sam asked, frowning.

"We've found other ways. Cattle blood."

"You're telling me you're responsible for all the—"

"It's not ideal, in fact it's disgusting. But — it allows us to get by." Lenore interrupted Sam, turning back to Jenny.

"Why?" She asked quietly, still trying to even out her breath.

"Survival. No deaths, no missing locals, no reason for people like you to come looking for people like us. We blend in. Our kind is practically extinct. Turns out we weren't quite as high up the food chain as we imagined."

"Why are we explaining ourselves to these killers?" Eli seethed, his arms crossed

"Eli!"

"We choke on cow's blood so that none of them suffer. Tonight they murdered Conrad and they celebrated!"

"Eli, that's enough."

"Yeah, Eli, that's enough." Jenny snapped sarcastically, Eli glaring at her.

"What's done is done. We're leaving this town tonight."

"Then why did you bring us here? Why are you even talking to us?" Sam asked, Jenny now attempting to wiggle herself free.

"Believe me, I'd rather not. But I know your kind. Once you have the scent you'll keep tracking us. It doesn't matter where we go. Hunters will find us."

"So you're asking us not to follow you."

"We have a right to live. We're not hurting anyone." Lenore pleaded, Sam turning to Jenny.

"Right, so you keep saying, but give is one good reason why we should believe you."

"Fine." Lenore got in Sam's face, snapping the ropes off of him, then did the same to Jenny. "You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to let you two go." Jenny and Sam looked at Lenore, startled by her actions. The vampire turned to Eli, pointing at him. "Take them back. Not a mark on them."

...

After the vampires had practically tossed Jenny and Sam out of the car, the two stood in the parking lot for a moment. Sam looked at Jenny. "You okay?"

She nodded slowly. "Thank you." She mumbled, and Sam gave her another solemn look.

"You'd do the same." He smiled softly, the two walking towards their motel room.

Dean and Gordon were sitting at the table when they walked in, Dean immediately noticing that Jenny had an offset stance. "What happened?" He asked in a worried tone, Sam glancing between him and Gordon.

"Can we talk to you? Alone?" The young winchester asked. Dean looked at Gordon.

"You mind chillin' out for a couple minutes?" Gordon nodded, and Dean followed Jenny and Sam back outside.

"Dean, maybe we've got to rethink this hunt." Sam spoke first, Dean looking taken aback.

"What are you talking about? Where were you guys?" He asked, mainly looking at Jenny, who seemed to have control over herself again

"In the nest." She answered, Dean's eyes widened.

"You found it?"

"They found us, man." Sam corrected.

"How'd you get out? How many'd you kill? Are you hurt?"

"Physically? No. Emotionally? Definitely." Jenny mumbled, taking in a deep breath. "None, by the way."

"Well they didn't just let you go." Dean scoffed, and the other two shared a look.

"That's exactly what they did."

"All right, well, where is it?"

"We were blindfolded, no idea." Sam answered.

"Well, you've got to know something."

"We know they've been drinking cattle blood to stay alive." Jenny pressed her lips together. Dean frowned again.

"We went over that bridge outside of town, but Dean, listen. Maybe we shouldn't go after them."

"Why not?"

"I don't think they're like other vampires. I don't think they're killing people."

"You're joking." Dean deadpanned. Sam and Jenny shook their heads.

"The cattle mutilations. They said they live off of animal blood." Sam shrugged, giving his brother a slightly hopeful look.

"And you believed them?" Sam nodded, Dean looked at Jenny. "You believed them?"

"Other than knocking us out, they didn't hurt us."

"Look at us, Dean. They let us go without a scratch." Sam showed Dean his arms, proving his point.

"Wait, so you're saying... No, man, no way. I don't know why they let you go. I don't really care. We find 'em, we waste 'em."

"Why?" Sam and Jenny asked in unison.

"What part of 'vampires' don't you understand, Sam? If it's supernatural, we kill it, end of story. That's our job." Jenny shook her head.

"No, our job is to hunt the bad guys! Evil! These vampires aren't evil! They haven't killed anyone."

"Of course they're killing people, that's what they do' They're all the same, guys. They're not human, okay? We have to exterminate every last one of them." Jenny looked at Dean with disbelief, shaking her head.

"No, Dean, I don't think so, all right? Not this time." Sam said quietly.

"Gordon's been on those vamps for a year, man, he knows."

"Gordon?" Dean nodded. "You're taking his word for it?"

"That's right."

"Ellen says he's bad news." Jenny said, then gestured to Dean.

"You guys called Ellen?" Sam nodded, and Dean rolled his eyes. "And I'm supposed to listen to her? We barely know her, Sam, no thanks, I'll go with Gordon."

"You said he's bad news, Dean!" Jenny raised her voice, gesturing to the motel room.

"Things have changed, Jen!" Jenny shook her head.

"Don't. Don't call me that right now." Dean's angry look disappeared immediately, watching her walk away. She paused for a moment, turning back to them. "If any of you need me, I'll be at the bar."

"Je— Jennifer wait." Dean started walking towards her, Sam grabbing him.

"You leave her alone right now." Sam demanded, Dean looking to his brother. "Can't you see that she just needs a break?"

"I pissed her off, alright? I gotta apologize—"

"And you will. After she calms the hell down. Dean, you should have noticed. She freaked the hell out when Gordon mentioned the scars on her. And now you're saying you'd rather work with him than listen to Ellen?"

...

"Ma'am, I think I'm going to have to ask you to leave now." The bartender said to Jenny, who was leaning against the counter and staring down at her glass.

"Just— one more.." She grumbled out, wiping away a stray tear. The man frowned, leaning down slightly.

"Are you alright?" He asked and she looked up at him, flailing her arms out."

"Whhyyy does everyone keep asking me that?" Her words were slow and slurred, the bartender frowning at her, watching as she sniffled. Jenny took a sip of her whiskey. "It's just—" She sighed loudly. "My boyfriend, he lost his dad a few weeks ago. Car crash allll of that stuff. Me and his dad, well, I looked up to him like he was my dad, too." Jenny rested her head in her hand, waving her fingers. "And like, it's been hard for us, man. We keep having shit thrown at us. Like, we're expected to pick up everyone's mess. Save the world and all of that bullshit."

The bartender leaned on the counter, a frown still on his face. "And— And I just told him to not call me by the nickname I only let him call me by. Like, yeah, we've had our disagreements... but I've neverrr done that before. And the— and the look on his face when I said it? I feel like— I feel like piece of shit. Like I was just.. so angry because he wasn't listening to me and Sammy. I feel like.. If I had just— expressed how I felt about how I feel about Gordon then, then he'd listen to me, you know?"

Jenny stared at the bartender with glossy eyes, her mouth open slightly as he just shrugged. "Well, he's probably going to that barn to kill a few vampires right now." Jenny leaned back slightly, nearly toppling over as she grabbed her whiskey. "I think he sees Gordon as a replacement for his dad. Like, he's doing everything he can to ignore his sad emotions because he wants to be a big strong man. But I know Dean. He's a big ol' teddy bear on the inside. He's smart and he's stupid, he's got anger like Satan. And he— He's just so caring and protective he gets scared every time you get a little scrape on the knee."

"I have no idea where you're going with this." The  bartender said, yet he still looked interested in what the drunk woman had to say.

"I'm saying that Dean needs to man the fuck up and cry because his dad is dead! Why have none of us actually cried yet?!" Jenny then burst into tears, slamming her head into her elbow, which was resting on the counter top.

Just then, Dean walked into the bar, pausing at the sight of Jenny sobbing, her back jumping up and down as she cried.

She turned to Dean, getting up and wobbling over as fast as she could before embracing him. "I'm so sorry." She wept, covering her face into his neck. Dean was frozen in confusion, slowly hugging her back.

"It's okay, Jen." He spoke, hesitant to call her that. "You're okay."

"Nooo I'm not. God, none of us are! Why won't you admit that you're hurting." She said, looking up at him. Dean still looked at her, confused, turning to the bartender.

"Let it out, man." The bartender said with a shrug, watching as Dean guided Jenny out.

...

Jenny stayed drunk in the Impala, waiting for Dean, Sam and Gordon to return. She looked out the window, spotting Sam running out of the farmhouse, carrying Lenore away. She frowned in confusion before hearing loud clanging from inside. Wanting to go out and help, she decided against it, knowing she'd lose for being too drunk.

"Dammit." She mumbled, slumping back into her chair.

...

Jenny, Sam and Dean all stood around the impala, looking at the farmhouse. "You gave him a hard punch for me, right?" Jenny asked as she pushed up her sunglasses, trying to hide the fact she had a massive headache.

"You bet your ass I did." Dean sighed, turning to Sam. "I wish we never took this job. It's jacked everything up."

"What do you mean?"

"Think about all the hunts we went on, Sammy, our whole lives. What if we killed things that didn't deserve killing? You know? I mean, the way Dad raised us..."

"Dean, after what happened to Mom, Dad did the best he could." Jenny hummed in slight amusement, leaning against the Impala.

"I know he did. But the man wasn't perfect. And the way he raised us, to hate those things; and man, I hate 'em. I do. When I killed that vampire at the mill I didn't even think about it; hell, I even enjoyed it."

"You didn't kill Lenore." Jenny downturned her lips, looking at Dean.

"No, but every instinct told me to. I was gonna kill her. I was gonna kill 'em all."

"But you didn't. You listened to us, Dean. Glad you didn't listen to Gorey-Gordon in their." Jenny gestured to the farmhouse and Sam frowned.

"Yeah. Well, 'cause you two are a pain in my ass." Jenny smiled, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Guess we might have to stick around to be a pain in the ass, then." Sam smirked, getting into the car.

Dean wrapped his arm around Jenny, kissing the top of her head. "I'm sorry for yelling at you, Jen."

"Sorry for telling you to not call me Jen." Her experience had dropped, looking at their reflection in the car. She sighed quietly. "I felt like shit for telling you that."

"Well, I felt like a dick." The two looked at each other, chuckling.

"Let's just— Not argue like that again, deal?" Dean held his smile as he kissed Jenny.

"Deal."
