Dear readers,

Thank you for all your support on my very first novel, Forlorn. Now I'd like to take the time to do a major structural rewrite of this work so that it fits as the second book of the Torn trilogy. 

Expect the same characters you know and love like Helena and Lord Dahlroth but with more believable characterization, better development, and a more cohesive storyline (the hero's journey). 

That rewrite will start in July 2022. 

However, I don't want to delete this version as many of my readers love it. Also, it was shortlisted for a Watty in 2017, which means it has some merit despite its flaws. 

Therefore, I have decided to rebrand it as a separate novel called Deception. That way, you can still access the original story, but my readers won't confuse the two storylines. 

That's important, as there will be many changes to the plot. I also completely remove the steampunk because it no longer fits.

Everything else will stay the same. 

I mean, I'm tempted to rework this whole story, but I'll leave it alone. In the last five minutes, I had a whole idea of a kind of spy thriller thing where Dahlroth trains one of his students to get into Hesse's inner circle, etc. But never mind all that. :D
