Last time
After a few minutes of coughing Ayumu finally stopped and lay back with the help of eyes the pianist looked at the boy with worry and said to the nurse "is it okay for me to stay here the evening" to which the nurse nodded and let eyes stay to keep an eye on him for the evening.

Now

NO ONE'S POV

The next morning Eyes woke up to see a pale slightly sweat covered Ayumu sitting at the edge of the bed when he walked forward he said "Ayumu are you alright" the brunette nodded taking a shallow breathe and said to the silver haired boy " you should get going your gonna be late and it will be my fault. I'll see you later ok" after that Eyes nodded and left although rather reluctantly.

A few minutes after Eyes left a doctor came through to check on him and when he saw that he was sat on the edge of the bed walked over and told him to lay down and get some rest however Ayumu shock his head and said "do you think that I could have a pen 7 pieces of paper with an envelope for each please" in a scratchy voice. The doctor although he wanted the boy to rest agreed to the boy's demands and got the paper, envelopes and pen and gave it to the boy along with a table to write on.

Meanwhile at the school

Hiyono was walking around the school when she saw the blade children (Kousuke, Rio and Ryoko) and noticed that Ayumu wasn't there so went over to them. "Hey guys how are you?" Hiyono said expecting to be greeted with a bright smile and happy conversations but only received a glare from each of them. She ignored them and said "where's Ayumu I haven't seen him around lately".

After that the trio walked away leaving Hiyono alone and started to talk to each other Kousuke said "she's right usually little Narumi would be here by now. I'm gonna call eyes." And he did just that.

//ring, ring//

"Hello" a voice said from the other end of the phone.

"Hey Rutherford it's me kousuke" the red head replied

"Ah kousuke what do you want" Eyes said

"Just a question Do you know where little Narumi is he hasn't turned up for school" Kousuke said after that there was silence from the other end of the hone and kousuke said "you know where he is don't you" he heard a sigh from the other end of the phone and eyes said "after school wait by the gate and I will come and get you for now I'm afraid that I am very busy bye" and he hung up.

Kousuke looked at the others and said " he said that he will come and get us once the school day ends" after that they went to lessons the same old boring things they learned normal stuff except it was very quiet without the brunette prodigy around.

When the end of the day came all of the blade children gathered at the gate and were met by eyes who just signalled them to follow him before walking away with quickened pace. The other three exchanged looks before running to catch up with eyes. When they got to where they were going they saw that they were at the hospital. Ryoko looked at eyes and said "why are we here". Eyes didn't answer her and walked into the building and towards a room when they got there they saw eyes knock on the door and wait for a few seconds before walking inside.

They slowly followed after and were surprised to see Ayumu lay in the bed covered in bruises asleep with a heart monitor attached to him, if the heart monitor wasn't showing his pulse by the look of him people would presume him dead his skin was as white as the bed sheets he lay on. Rio looked at eyes in shock and asked him a question "Eyes what happened to him" the silver haired boy looked down a little bit and said "I'm not entirely sure as to what happened, all I know is that after he split from you all to come back last night he was ran over by a careless driver. I hadn't known what had happened at the time so him being late I naturally called to see where he was and that detective wataya answered and told me everything".

The others nodded still albeit shocked and worried. But they all sat around the bed and talked for a while. After a few hours Ayumu woke up and looked around the room while still lying down on the bed and said in a scratchy voice when he saw all the blade children "how long have you been here?"

All of the blade children heard the voice and looked at Ayumu before smiling sadly and saying "a few hours, you looked like you needed the rest so we didn't wake you up".

Ayumu nodded and went to sit up but was stopped by both Kousuke and Eyes who said "no sitting up" they both looked at each other annoyed while the girls snickered behind them.

Ayumu didn't actually have the strength to sit up or move but he didn't want to worry them. They continued to talk until visitor hours were over. They all left including Eyes as his schedule for the following day was very busy.

Once they were gone Ayumu sighed and pulled a pen and paper from under his bed before finishing what he was writing sealing it in the envelope and just as he finished it all a doctor came in and said to the boy "you know you should be resting" the boy held a faint smile and said "yeah I know however I wanted to finish these letters" the doctor looked curious.

Ayumu looked at the doctor and said "as you already know I have anaemia and that with me coughing up a large amount of blood every few hours or so I can't replenish the blood I lose and will eventually die because of it right" the doctor nodded with a sad smile after figuring out why the boy wrote the letters. Ayumu then said to the doctor "I don't think I'll live to see tomorrow morning, in the case that I don't make it will you give these to Eyes, you know the long silver hair or Kousuke the one with the spiky red hair for me when they arrive tomorrow please as my last request".

The doctor nodded and took the letters from Ayumu and said "I promise I will give them the letters" Ayumu smiled and then lay back down and said "I really don't even have the energy to sit up anymore, I can hardly keep myself awake and I feel like my head's about to explode" after that Ayumu lay down on the bed and closed his eyes before the doctor left the room Quickly to go and put the letters in his office and then come back to check on him.

When the doctor came back into the room he looked at the now sleeping boy on the bed and smiled sadly just then the boy woke up in shock and started coughing up almost all of what was left of his blood onto the sheets in front of him.

The doctor shouted down the hall for a nurse and defibrillators as well" when both were arrived the boy was still coughing up blood the nurse was looking in horror. Ayumu then fell down unconscious and went into cardiac arrest. The doctor started to perform CPR but that wasn't working. So he asked the nurse for the paddles after one try nothing happened, he tried again and got the same result.

He tried again with the maximum voltage and nothing a few seconds later he stopped and looked at the nurse who was still slightly in shock but was able to help out and said "date and time of death march 13 2010 21:00 hours" before leaving the room to the nurse and a few other nurses that arrived to help remove the equipment forever cleaning would have to wait a while.

Blood slightly staining his clothes he thought to himself as he walked to his office 'I will keep my promise to you Ayumu narumi'. After that he went to the main desk and said to the nurse "what is the phone number of the guardian of patient Ayumu narumi?" after he received the information he walked back to his office and proceeded to text detective Wataya and then call the number.

Meanwhile with Madoka and Kiyotaka

Both had just sat down after finishing there dinner when Kiyotaka's phone went off.

He answered "hello"

"Hello is this Kiyotaka narumi" the voice said

"Yes now who may I ask are you" Kiyotaka said while Madoka was looking at him with curiosity.

"I am a doctor from the local hospital, I have called to tell you that earlier on this evening your younger brother Ayumu Narumi passed away after being in a car accident. I'm sorry for your loss if you wish to come and see your brother one last time you are welcome to" the doctor said

Kiyotaka's eyes opened wide and he said in a shaky voice "wh-wh-what please tell me that this is a prank please" tears started to fall from Kiyotaka's eyes when he received silence. Madoka started to get worried.

"I wish that I could tell you that this is a joke but I'm afraid it isn't I am deeply sorry I tried everything I could to save your brother but nothing worked, I'm afraid I have to go as I need to get in touch with his friend who he was staying with goodbye" the doctor said before hanging up.

After that Kiyotaka was up and ready to leave with madoka following him rather worried. Her worried feeling only worsened when they arrived at the hospital. A doctor approached Kiyotaka and said "your Kiyotaka right, we talked on the phone".

Kiyotaka nodded and the doctor started walking with the two following. When they stopped in front of the door the doctor turned to them and said "you should prepare yourself the staff haven't been able to clean the room yet so it looks really bad" once he received a nod he slowly pushed the door open and Kiyotaka and Madoka walked in.

The first thing they saw was blood the metallic smell of blood hit their noses and it was awful. When they finally looked at the bed itself or more over the person on the bed they forgot about the smell and both were in tears Madoka when she saw what Ayumu looked like she went over while crying and brushed his hair out of his face and looked at the doctor before saying "this isn't a joke is it" the doctor shook his head and Kiyotaka who was frozen at the sight of his dead brother was now in tears he lost one of the only people he cared for again but this time due to his own stupid behaviour.

Both of them started to remember the last thing they either said or wrote to Ayumu. "You are probably better off dead" madoka said to herself, Kiyotaka looked at her in surprise and said "what" madoka looked back at Ayumu and said while crying "I was angry he was saying that you basically kicked him out of the apartment and that you said he were to either find a place to stay or sleep In the streets but I didn't believe him but he kept pushing it and I ended up slapping him and telling him that he was dead to me and that he was better off dead. I tried to tell him I didn't mean it but I couldn't get the words out before he left" madoka was hugged by Kiyotaka and he said "he was telling the truth I did say that I guess when I wrote that I wasn't thinking clearly I never actually meant what I said either" after that they both cried when they heard the door open and in walked detective Wataya who had papers.

"what are you doing here detective Wataya" Madoka said incredulously. Wataya looked at her before sighing and saying "I was put in charge of this case I received a text from Ayumu's doctor that he had died and I figured he would tell you after he passed away about him being her-" madoka shouted "YOU KNEW, YOU KNEW HE WAS HERE AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU DIDN'T EVEN MENTION IT ONCE" Kiyotaka looked at the detective and said "why didn't you say anything".

Wataya looked sadly at them and said "it was one of his last wishes that neither of you found out until after his death and I intended to keep that promise to him anyway I knew once you found out he was here you would have come here and I would tell you that this case is now being treated as a homicide due to the fact the our victim has now died due to the injuries inflicted by the offender. Anyway I need to go and inform his friends-" he was cut off again by Kiyotaka who said "friends I thought he was lying about that just so he had an excuse not to talk to me" detective Wataya shook his head and said "yes he has friends 5 as far as I know, he mention once on one of my visits that you should know quite a few of them".

Kiyotaka looked curious and said "who are they?" Wataya said "Kousuke Asazuki, Rio Takeuchi, Ryoko Takamachi, Hiyono yuizaki and Eyes Rutherford of whom he was living with and working as his personal assistant as a deal for living with him before the accident. Mr Rutherford has come to visit him every day since the accident after his work." To say that Kiyotaka was shocked was an understatement his brother managed to befriend the blade children.

After that Wataya left. Madoka and Kiyotaka decided it was time to leave once they were out of the room the doctor smiled sadly and bid them farewell.

The next day all of the blade children were in class when a teacher came through followed by Ryoko, Rio and Hiyono to get Kousuke. When they reached the head teacher's office the teacher opened the door and told them to go through. When they entered they saw Detective Wataya and knew something was off.

They greeted the detective and turned to the principal who said "detective Wataya has come here personally on behalf to convey a message to the four of you." The four of them looked to the detective who was smiling sadly at them he then said "well I suppose this isn't really good news it is rather upsetting and I regret to inform you that after the car accident that happened the other Day that Ayumu narumi Died in hospital last night around 9 o'clock" after that the group could believe it and Kousuke said "you mean it happened right after we left *he received a nod* I knew something was wrong and that we shouldn't have left" he muttered the last sentence to himself and the other blade children in the room who nodded with tears starting to form in their eyes.

While Hiyono looked as confused as ever she said "wait what accident" all of the blade children glared at her but turned their attention to detective wataya and said "have you told Eyes yet detective" the man shook his head before saying "no I was planning on going after this" the trio exchanged a look and said " may we come with you because we know he won't take the news very well in the time we have had to get to know Ayumu he has become like family to us" the principal thought about it for a minute before nodding and detective wataya said "I don't see why not"before leaving a confused hiyono in the office for the principal to explain.

When they arrived at where eyes was working they entered the building and went to where eyes was when they got there they saw eyes sat on a chair drinking a glass of water. Rio said "eyes" when the man heard the voice he turned around to see the group of 4 and his eyes widened as he said "no" the group nodded and Rio ran to eyes and hugged him as she cried to her hearts content a tear fell from the silver haired boy's eye as the realisation finally dawned on him that his brother figure was gone.

A few weeks later a funeral was held the doctor who was in charge of him was there. Once the event was over the doctor walked towards them and said "I know this isn't the right time but I thought I should let you know that Ayumu asked one last request of me before he passed away and that was if he were to die which he already knew would happen and when that I was to give you these" he handed over the letters to the group before saying again that he was sorry for their loss.

One after another they read their letters and smiled sadly at the grave.

10 years later

It had been so many years since the day of Ayumu Narumi's death and this day marked the anniversary of when he died all the blade children arrived even kaname who after Ayumu's death he realised that the boy was right. Madoka and Kiyotaka arrived with their 5 year old son who they named after his late uncle. And they spent the day talking and having fun while remembering their times with Ayumu.

As the day came to an end Everyone went their separate ways and headed home. Just as the sun was setting Madoka, Kiyotaka and Eyes were walking away and looked back at the grave and their eyes widened. Sat on top of the grave was none other then Ayumu Narumi who was smiling brightly at them he walked towards them and said "I'm glad you managed to have a happy life after my death" before disappearing into balls of light.

The three of them smiled and then the 5 year old Ayumu tugged on Eyes's pant leg and said "was that uncle Ayumu" Eyes crouched down to the boy's eye height and said "yes it was can you see why people say you bare such a remarkable resemblance to him" the little boy nodded.

After that all 4 of them walked away from the grave yard with smiles on their faces having been able to see the boy one final time. When by the tree three ghosts watched them leave. Once they were out of sight one ghost said "I'm happy that they continued living happily" the other 2 ghosts nodded and the older male ghost said "at least one of my sons gave a grand child" the youngest ghost smacked the older one.

The female ghost looked at the males and said "come on boys let's go" a few seconds before they left Kiyotaka came running back as he forgot something and saw the three ghosts how smiled, waved and said to him "we love you have a good life" before they all disappeared in orbs of light.

Kiyotaka smiled at the place where the ghosts stood and said "don't worry I will Mum,Dad, Ayumu"
