Chapter 6
December 22nd
386 Warren Street
It was the day before the Christmas party. Everything was ready and was set. Each of the Kennedys had went and been tailored for new outfits. Even Jack. Bearing in mind, he only wanted to because it made Jackie happy. Whatever made her smile, made him feel wonderful.
Jack and Jackie decided to spend some quality time with the kids. They had finished school and kindergarten for the holidays the day before and didn't go back until 9th January.
The day they finished up for the holidays at school, a heavy snowstorm had coated Boston the same night. The next morning, Jack and Jackie joined their kids outside in the garden for some winter fun. They built a snowman together and had a small snowball fight before Jack and Jackie decided to watch from the so-called Garden Room.
It wasn't exactly a conservatory but it was a gorgeous room that looked out onto the garden in the window, let in plenty of sun in the summer and it was located at the small corridor next door to the dining room.
They sat snuggled up on the sofa. Jack in his navy blue jumper and white slacks and Jackie in an almost identical outfit except with the jumper being cream. Their hands clasped, they watched as some more snow began to drift from the sky. "I love you kid" Jackie heard her husband whisper. Jackie looked up at him.
While the kids were occupied, they kissed before Jackie rested her head on Jack's chest. They embraced. "I'm very excited for the party tomorrow" Jackie smiled at her husband. He rolled his eyes.
"Of course you are, you won't shut up about it!" He joked. Jackie laughed. "I think you're going to like it" Jackie added before resting again. They gazed out at the kids. "This reminds me of the inauguration" Jack said. Jackie giggled. "It does. I've still kept the dress I wore that night". Jackie thought back.
Dancing, watching the performances at that magical night before she became First Lady. Jack promised her when his Presidential Library was built, she could have all her belongings as First Lady placed in there. Until then, they would remain in possession of the National Archives.
