I could feel my cold soaked white clothes against my skin as I woke up. I looked around only to notice I was underwater but, I can breathe. I turned my head in confusion as I bang on the glass of my confinement. Even though it's hard to see much I manage to see a few feet in front of me. I suddenly stop when I come face to face with a familiar person. I can't hear what they're saying. I can't hear anything. They drain the water and slowly let me out. I look around the room to see all of them here.

"What the hell is going on?"

I say silently to myself. My eyes stop on a certain person whose confinement is different from the rest. They rest in the center of the white futuristic room. I stare at the glittering golden water that they are stuck in as I stare silently at the person inside.

"I'm sorry..."

Although I know he can't hear me I say those words hoping for a response.

"Come on, we have to go see them."

I hear the voice I thought I wouldn't hear again and leave with the hope of returning the strange room.

"You had the perfect chance. Why didn't you end it already? Why didn't you end everyone's suffering?"

I heard the voice call out to me. I stopped pacing around the room for a second  in order to process what they said. "I'm sorry... I don't know what you're talking about." I said softly.

"Cody, you could have done it. You could have killed David. Yet, you didn't. Why? Don't you remember?"

"Remember?" I don't understand. Why would I want to kill David? Kill... David... Kill... David??? I suddenly feel as if the room is spinning. My head starts to pound as if someone had hit me upside the head with a bat. All of the sudden, scenes start to run through my mind...

I know now what I have to do.

Everyone was gathered on the almost white sand of the beach. We didn't understand how we got there or what happened, but what I did understand was that someone was missing. I looked around in panic for Felix, turning my head in every direction.

"Felix?!" I say in a panicked voice. Seeing my distress, Maria and Tobias engulfed me in a hug. "It's okay, David. I'm sure he'll show up." Tobias said softly in the most calming voice he could muster.

"Felix is dead."

I whipped my head around to where the voice came from. "What are you talking about Cody?" Eric laughed, trying to defuse the situation. "They told me. Felix is dead and it's all your fault. David."

"Liar! Why would I kill my best friend?" I screamed hoping that Cody was lying. Yet... There was no proof he wasn't. "Yeah, why would David kill him? And how? We've all been locked in our rooms for about a week now, right?" Maria stood up for me.

"That's right, Maria! But, Cody isn't lying! Felix is unfortunately, dead." Ex announced.

'I fucking hate you, Ex. All of the sudden you appear again. It's probably your fault he's not with us anymore.' I thought to myself quietly, trying not to let my tears escape.

"What?" Noemi and Eric stood in shock as the rest of us contained our tears and sobs.

"So... I'm gonna move on now. Ok, so, you might be wondering why you're all here. Basically, I thought that you all could just have a fun day in the sun while it's still summer. Although, you'll have to supply your own food of course. I don't know, maybe you could play a game of hide and seek or something!" Ex said cheerfully, a bit too cheerfully.

"You're joking, right? There's no way you would just let us have fun." Noemi frowned.

"Noemi, you know me too well... Of course I'm kidding! You're all here to play a nice game of hide and seek! The loser gets punished! All the seeker has to do is tag you and then you MUST join their team and help them find the others. The person to be found first is the loser. The winner doesn't really get anything but, it's best to try and stay hidden so then you can delay the loser's punishment as much as possible! The seeker will be blindfolded so they can't see where you run off to! The seeker is... Cody! Good luck! You have thirty seconds to hide!" Ex said as a small table came up with a blindfold which Cody quickly put on.

"The game starts... NOW!"

I looked around and began to run. My mind shifted through the different places I could hide. If only we weren't on a beach... There's only a few dozen palm trees and bushes... I'm going to have to get creative I guess. I sigh as I begin to climb a palm tree. I take another look around to see a few of the others hiding in bushes and behind trees. My eyes turn towards the ocean and I see Eric trying to hide in the sand...

I laugh quietly to myself in order to make sure I don't attract any attention. I climb to the very top of the palm tree, although Cody may be able to see me, he'll have a pretty hard time trying to get to me or at least I hope.

"Hope you all found a spot because the seeker is now seeking!" Ex giggled.

It takes a while before I hear Cody and Tobias talking. I assume he has been tagged... I silently think to myself. Over the course of a few minutes, I can see them slowly getting tagged. Now there's only two people left. "Found you David!" I hear Cody yell. "You know that's a pretty bad spot. You're cornered." He sighs as he climbs the tree and tags my foot. We both slowly come back down until we're both on the ground.

"So, Cody-" I stop as I feel a hand grip my neck tightly. I open my mouth to scream but a hand covers it so it comes out muffled. The next thing I know is that I'm on the ground with Cody on top of me trying to strangle me. "C-cody.. s-" I can't form a coherent sentence because of the lack of air.

All of the sudden, I see someone punch Cody and he tumbles onto the ground next to me. "David, are you okay?!" I see Tobias run over to me while I'm gasping, trying to get my breath back. I look back over to Cody who is now being restrained by Eric and Noemi. "WHAT THE FUCK? WHY DID YOU TRY TO KILL HIM?" I hear Maria scream while she helps me back to my feet.

"WHY WOULD I NOT TRY TO KILL HIM?! THAT SICK FUCK KILLED FELIX AND LUCIA!" Tears started to form in my eyes. "What are you talking about? Do you think I want my friends to die? Why would I do any of this? You guys are the only reason why I'm alive right now!" I begin to break down.

"Cody, you're insane!" Eric yelled angrily at the boy that was trying to break free.

"Do you guys want me to sedate him?" Ex asked.

"Please... I don't think we could hold him back for much longer." Noemi desperately tried to keep her hold on him.

"Ok, wait a second." Out of nowhere, a hooded person come up to Cody and injects something into him.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS WOULD BETRAY ME LIKE THIS I-" He faints in their arms.

"Now... time for Tobias' punishment! Don't think I've forgotten!" My eyes widened as I forgot completely about the game we had just played.

"Welp, if this is the end, I love you all. If it isn't, welp, please forget this awkward goodbye." He shifts around nervously as he steps away from us.

"Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders"

Spiders come from out of nowhere and onto him. You can see him hyperventilating and the sheer fear on his face. After a minute or so, he faints onto the ground and spiders scatter. I slowly approach Tobias to see spider bites all over his body.
