Becca and Meghan (otherwise known as our author name R.M. Ellie or HeyLookTheSnitch) excitedly here to finally say...We are back with the second book of Quill of Thieves. So, if you have not read book one, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER! You have been warned...

Welcome to Deceit of Spirits. Unlike Quill of Thieves, we will actually be writing most of this story as we post it, so we apologize in advance for any grammatical errors or plot holes. Quill of Thieves took us nearly three years to finesse and edit, so the chapters in book two may seem a bit rougher than what we normally post. Still, we hope you enjoy this adventure with Bash, Astrid, Abel, and Matthias. (And, perhaps, some newer characters, too. Especially one that Becca has been dying to introduce for ages!) Anyways, we're looking forward to getting your input and perhaps using some of your suggestions to help shape the plot of this book. 

Since we're writing this book as we go, expect only one update per week, most likely on Sunday evenings PST.

Saviour's Prophecy: 

While the Mother slumbers in winter's breath, 
A thief will arise to conquer the rest.
Earth's kin and creations will be torn apart;
Deceit, greed, and death bred from mortal hearts.

Yet a redeemer is born from a motherless womb;
The quill reforged to rewrite the realm's tomb.
Saviour of mortals and creatures of seven,
Confronting the thief and lies that have leavened.

Redeemer and sinner can rise Earth or descend;
Though only one lives while the other must end.

Synopsis for Deceit of Spirits:

A scholarly Author betrayed by the girl for whom he fell. 

A cursed daughter who desires to free her magically entrapped father.

A realm of spirits capable of deceiving them both into fracturing their world.

After learning of Astrid Salvera's plans to use his soul to free her father from the clutches of Queen Davina's Monverta, Sebastian d'Aximos ends up in the Realm of the Fae as he and Astrid race to retrieve the mystical Black Quill from the dangerous waters of Lake Holalethe. Despite the deadly risks, Sebastian can't help but be drawn to Astrid and the trove of secrets she seems to hold close to her chest. Astrid, still reeling from the truth of her cursed bloodline and her inability to be a saviour in her own story, struggles to allow Sebastian past her defenses and finds herself spiraling towards the fate of the prophesied sinner.

Meanwhile, Abel Venande rushes through Belsynen to the Elvish realm of Galandreal in order to meet up with Sebastian and keep him from Astrid's traitorous grasp. When she gets captured by Elvish Elders, Abel discovers her own heritage and the larger part she has to play to save her kin's realm from the diminishing magic of the elements. But when Captain Matthias Soiree arrives with revelations to share, Abel's loyalties to Sebastian threaten to waver.

However, unknown to this unlikely band of heroes, the goddess of Spirit's threads, Gaia, watches their progress and has plans of her own...
