Listen
Leave us not in this
Midnight bleak, faint
Cries echo and sigh.
Twilight of night,
Engorged by echoing
Caverns, a mournful
Cry spills eternal,
A keening mother
Her voice paternal.
A love of all, that
Dwell within her
Cerulean depths,
Yet supine and
Still she wept.
Scattered,
Abandoned and
Waning are her sons
And daughters,
Languid litter
Loitering in her
Roiling waters.
Seeping drip by
Drip, her darling
Children devouring
Poison sip by sip.
Blood red horizons
Melt into her
Bleeding heart,
Remnant of mere
Mortals Svengali
Voices and untimely art.
Harrowing tears
Of hers rise and fall,
Chained is she by
Human thrall.
Opalescent waves
Of hers greet an
Ashen morning, her
Day of grief a
Scarlet dawning.
Amid tidal yearnings
Her heart does sing,
An ode to all upon
Divine and deathly wings.
Leave us not in this
Midnight bleak, faint
Cries echo and sigh.
My darling children,
She whispers to the
Night.
Sleep my darlings
Sleep dear ones,
Lay back in clement
Tides, let your dream
Laden eyes drift on
To Atlantis skies,
Listen softly to my
Bereft lullabies.
Sleep on my darlings
Sleep on dear ones.
