17: Silver locks

Nia yawned, stretching her body under the sheets as the morning sun beamed through the small holes in Jungkook's old curtains.

Nia smiled, the scent of Jungkook hitting her as she was in his bed, wrapped up in his sheets and with the man himself next to her.

She turned around to face the boy.

As her eyes met his, a lazy smile grazed his lips, crinkles at the eyes forming and eyes causing a butterfly swarm to wake in her stomach. He moved his arm under the sheet and snaked it around the girl's waist, pulling her in so their bodies where touching and their breaths mingling as Nia looked up.

He placed a kiss to her forehead, going down, placing one on her nose as well and ended it with a few pecks on her mouth, "Good morning beautiful." Jungkook whispered, with his usual raspy morning voice.

A snort interrupted the girl's day dreaming and she shook her head, her eyes landing on her peacefully sleeping boyfriend.

The girl scoffed and turned back around to lay on her back, hugging the sheet close to her body and gazing at the ceiling.

Why didn't she choose a more romantic boyfriend?

Just as the thought crossed her mouth, a snore sounded from Jungkook and Nia sat up in the bed and gave up trying to fall asleep again.

The girl had by now learnt that her boyfriend was not a morning person. Her little girl dreams about waking up to kisses and breakfast was not involved in this relationship. But it didn't bother the girl too much, she felt lucky to have Jungkook.

The girl went to open one of the windows, letting some fresh air in the room.

The breeze blowing on her skin, making a few chills appear reminded her of the previous day at the amusement park.

Nia was so happy that it had went smoothly and great. It had made her feel so cared for the way her mother was actually trying to get to know Jungkook and the way her mother and boyfriend had bonded over the few hours they spent together was amazing to the girl.

"Ah, it's morning already?" Jungkook's raspy morning voice spoke from behind Nia.

She turned around to see Jungkook rubbing his eyes and squinting them as the sun was too bright for his poor sleepy eyes.

"Good morning to you too." Nia spoke and went to draw the curtains at the other window as well.

"Nia stop, it hurts my eyes!" Jungkook whisper yelled.

"Good." The girl smiled and sat down next to him, "Now cuddle me."

"Where are we going?" Nia questioned as she had put on her seat belt and Jungkook slowly started to back out of the driveway.

A few hours had passes since they woke, Nia had put on a series on the TV in Jungkook's room, while Jungkook fell asleep again. When he woke again and had taken a quick morning shower, he had told Nia he wanted to take her somewhere.

The girl had no plans for the day and was just excited to finally get out of bed, so she went with him without hesitation.

"I want you to meet someone." Jungkook spoke, eyes fixed on the road.

Nia couldn't help but find it attractive when Jungkook was driving her somewhere. The girl didn't have her drivers license herself, and it was therefore impressive to her that Jungkook could drive.

"Meet someone?" Nia asked, moving her eyes from Jungkook's hand on the steering wheel to the road in front of them as well.

"Mhm." Jungkook hummed.

"Who could that be?" The curious girl turned to look at him again.

Another family member?Someone important to him?

"Well, you'll have to wait and see." Jungkook glanced at her shortly, sending her a smile before focusing back on the road.

"We're here" Jungkook said and parked the car.

Even though it had only been a 10 minute car ride, Nia's eyelids had been heavy and she'd had to cave in and close them on the way.

The girl opened her eyes, noticing the familiar shopping street.

"Who am I going to meet?" The girl asked, with a faint and raspy voice. She shook her head and lightly tapped her cheeks to make her face a little more presentable.

"Just follow me." Jungkook smiled and exited the vehicle.

"Why does he have to be so secretive." Nia huffed, turning around to exit the vehicle too.

The couple walked down the familiar alley, to the music studio Jungkook had shown Nia before.

The girl was walking a few steps behind Jungkook with a shy smile on her lips as this place brought good memories.

Jungkook turned around as he noticed the girl had stopped.

"Come on Nia." He said and grabbed her hand, gently pulling her with him.

"I'm coming." Nia rolled her eyes jokingly, smiling at her boyfriend.

Jungkook entered the room first, Nia following behind.

"Hyung." Jungkook called, pulling a bit on Nia's hand.

The girl stopped in her tracks, almost gasping when she noticed someone with headphones on sitting in one of the chairs by the electric keyboard.

The memories of when Jungkook had brought her here and asked her to be his girlfriend, had made the girl completely forget that Jungkook was going to introduce her to someone.

"Hyung!" Jungkook repeated.

The person in the chair turned around, removing his headphones.

It was a guy. He had a beanie over his head, a few locks of hair sticking out in the bottom, some in front of his eyes. His hair was a silver like color. It looked greasy from what Nia could tell, which was probably why he was wearing a beanie even though it was summer and they were inside.

"Jungkook, it's been long." The guy spoke, getting up from his chair and greeting the taller Jungkook a hug.

After they hugged, the silver haired guy glanced at Nia and back at Jungkook.

"Oh yeah, right!" Jungkook shook his head, "Yoongi, Nia, Nia, Yoongi." Jungkook smiled.

Yoongi waved and greeted the girl an unenthusiastic smile, to which she returned.

Yoongi was the only one Jungkook had sung to after his mother had left. The silver haired man was also the only one, besides Nia, that knew about Jungkook's burning passion for singing and producing music. The two weren't the closest, but they had been friends when they were younger and stumbled across each other a few years ago again. Min Yoongi had become a producer and composer for smaller artists and after a lot of convincing, Yoongi made Jungkook sing again. As Jungkook had been singing only for Yoongi's tests and drafts for a few months, the boy had started getting interested in the whole production of a song and not just the singing part. Every now and then, Yoongi would now teach Jungkook how to produce a song. No one but him and the silver haired guy knew this.

"I'm his girlfriend," Nia spoke and motioned to Jungkook, "Despite that, I've only ever been here once... you must be special." Nia joked around, curious to what these two guys' relationship was.

The girl did still not know why Jungkook had brought her to meet this guy.

"I own this studio."

Nia pressed her lips together immediately, mentally slapping herself as Yoongi didn't draw a single mine. The girl sucked on the inside of her lip, biting down on it, feeling awkward and scared that she might have offended him.

"I'm letting Jungkook lend it while I'm out of town, in return he's my vocal."

"Hey! I'm not an object." Jungkook spoke from a chair he had seated comfortably in behind Yoongi.

The tight expression on the silver haired guy's face was replaced by a few crinkles by his eyes and a smile that showed his gum.

Nia breathed a sigh of relief, as Yoongi turned around and went to sit down in front of a big computer.

That was intense

"He's also learning how to produce music." Yoongi turned on the computer, the screen lightning up, "Listen."

"Wait-" Jungkook exclaimed, but Yoongi placed his index in front of his lips causing Jungkook to bite back his words with a childish expression.

Nia listened carefully as music started playing. It surprised the girl that it was actually really good and catchy, but she mostly payed attention to her boyfriend's melting voice carressing her ears and making her feel something. The boy had denied singing for her. She had only ever heard him for the few seconds she eaves dropped at school.

His voice was soothing, and looking at Jungkook while the song was playing only made him more attractive.

"Now that's enough!" Jungkook spoke, walking over to Yoongi and pausing the song.

"Jungkook! It was really good!" Nia smiled and grabbed Jungkook's hand.

"I told you not to play it for anyone..." Jungkook sighed, looking at Yoongi.

Yoongi turned in his chair unbothered by Jungkook, "It's called Stay Alive, and it's nearly finished, it only lacks some backup vocals and then some finishing touches."

"Yoongi..." Jungkook pleaded lowly. Yoongi nodded at him, respecting the younger's weird wish. It puzzled him why he didn't want to let anyone hear him sing, just because of his mother left him once. Yoongi had moved out young, due to his parents lack of support and understanding about his passion. He had stuck to it anyway. He did great.

"That's cool!" Nia spoke excitedly.

Jungkook rolled his eyes and fell back onto the chair he came from.

After hardly an hour of talking, Nia knew who Yoongi was to Jungkook. Jungkook had mostly sat by as a fly on the wall, while Yoongi hadn't stopped talking as Nia seemed interested in his work.

Even though music is in the category of arts, Nia didn't know much about the subject. But she wanted to.

It was only one year left until she would start in college. When senior year was over she wanted to apply to Busan Arts College and very much likely would interact with someone from the music department, as well as her own academic department of course.

Therefore the girl listened closely to what Yoongi was telling her. Also to be able to relate to Jungkook's passion more.

Yoongi turned the key in the keyhole of the door to his studio.

"Ah shit, I forgot my rings." Jungkook spoke, searching his pockets and looking at Yoongi, who had just caught up with him and Nia.

"Your rings?" Nia wriggled her brows, "Agreed, your rings?" Yoongi said, also having a puzzled expression on his face.

"Yeah I removed them when my fingers started cold sweating."

"Cold sweat?" Yoongi muttered.

Jungkook gave Yoongi a sharp look, "You played our song! When I get nervous-" Jungkook paused for a moment and turned to look at Nia, "Nevermind, it's nothing." He chuckled nervously, pulling at the small hairs at the back of his head.

"Aww, I make you nervous?" Nia cooed.

"I'm pretty sure he was talking about me." Yoongi scoffed, and reached out the keys to Jungkook.

Jungkook quickly grabbed them and headed back to the studio, leaving Yoongi and Nia alone.

The 18 year old girl stood in awkward silence with her new fellow Jungkook's secret-knowing-friend.

Nia hated awkward situations and she didn't know much about this guy, so no talking subjects struck her mind. It wasn't long, before the girl hesitantly spoke to avoid the situation, "I think I forgot something too... I'll go check."

"Nia."

Nia stopped walking and slowly turned back towards the new acquaintance.

"Mhm?"

"I've known Jungkook for a while, but I don't think I know him well enough to say this, but," The man took a deep breath, holding eye contact with the girl, showing a genuine side of the sarcastic person he had turned out to be, "But I'm a people's person, and I'm Yoongi, so I guess I can."

Nia kept quiet, curious to what he had to say as he built the tension up quite well.

"Don't mess this up."

The man motioned between Nia and Jungkook who was busy unlocking the door behind them.

Nia tilted her head, "What, why would I?" The girl spoke a little harsh, slightly triggered of what sounded like an accusation.

"Don't mess this up."

Did she seem like a person to mess this up? To mess something up at all?

"I'm a people's person."

Go fuck yourself.

Nia turned on her heel, about to walk to the studio and her boyfriend that she would never hurt.

"I don't think you would." Yoongi took a step towards the girl who was walking away from him.

Nia stopped.

"What I'm saying is that no matter how much I know and how much I don't, he's been through a lot. Don't make him go through worse."

Nia huffed, but let her shoulders down and let out a sigh. Yoongi was only trying to look after his friend. She shouldn't take it so personal.

"Also, don't have sex in my studio."

"Yoongi!" The girl exclaimed and turned around, facing the man.

"I'm serious, making out is the limit!"

"Fine, stop talking about it!" Nia spoke in panic.

Yoongi chuckled, sending the girl a cheeky smile before turning around.

"Yoongi..." The girl hesitated as Yoongi stopped and turned around to face her again, "Whatever you did to him... for him... thank you."

Yoongi smiled a closemouthed smile and sent the girl a wink, before she turned around and went to the studio to "grab her forgotten thing as well".

"So I make you nervous." Nia entered the small studio, finding her boyfriend sat on the chair in front of the keyboard, busy putting on his rings.

"Where's Yoongi?" Jungkook questioned as he saw his girlfriend enter, without his friend who she was just accompanied with.

"He left." Nia sat down in the chair next to Jungkook.

Nia observed quietly as Jungkook put on the last two rings, very carefully as if they were fragile.

"Sing for me."

Jungkook's eyes shot up from his hands to Nia's eyes.

It was a clear expression of shock that painted his face, his eyes wide, lips slightly parted and hair falling in front of his eyes.

"Pfft." Jungkook snorted and chuckled lightly as he put his hair in a little ponytail.

Nia again observed him. She observed as he tied his ebony hair into a little messy ponytail, strands that weren't long enough falling down every here and there. She observed the wrinkle on his forehead, the slightly reddened ears and the way he played with his lip ring.

He was nervous. Maybe even scared?

And he tried to hide it, again.

"I won't leave Jungkook," Nia reached out to grab his hand, "I promise."

"I'm your girlfriend."

Jungkook looked up from the ground and into Nia's eyes.

He couldn't hide forever. And he really wanted to open up.

It was just all so scary.

But he would do anything for those sparkly eyes.

"Fine, which song?"

"Really?" The girl exclaimed, her voice rising sweetly at the end. It was hard to believe he actually said yes, when he'd been so cautious of it beforehand.

Jungkook nodded, trying to smile, but this was really frightening to him.

"Thank you!" Nia almost jumped in her chair from excitement, clapping with her hands and smiling with every fiber in her body.

The gesture made Jungkook smile and relax into the thought a bit.

If she really wanted it this much, it was worth it. She was worth it.

"Hurry up and figure a song already before I change my mind." Jungkook joked, a chuckle leaving his lips.

"Can you do it acapella?" She questioned as Jungkook was turning on the computer.

"Nia." Jungkook spoke with a warning tone.

"Okay okay..."

"So...?"

"I like Pink Sweats."

"Damn, I hoped you would say Justin Bieber, doesn't every girl like him?" Jungkook muttered.

"Oooo, did I fall for a fan boy?" Nia teased, rolling her chair closer to Jungkook, her knees touching his inner thighs.

"So you've fallen for me?" Jungkook spoke back, moving his head forward, making Nia's breath hitch at the sudden intense closeness.

Jungkook leant back in his chair, folding his arms behind his neck, "I just appreciate his music." He pulled out his phone from one of his sweatpants pockets, "I know this one song though..."

"Right..."
