Chapter 14
Spending the entire day with Eloise had been almost like a breath of fresh air.
When she wasn't talking, I was touching her, and when she wasn't looking at me, I was kissing her, everything about her made me feel compelled to be near her, it was the strangest thing, but I couldn't get enough of her.
"Rowan, what time was it?" She asked as I looked outside the window, seeing that it had gotten quite dark.
Had it really become night this soon? "Do you need to leave?" I turn and ask, seeing as she's next to me on my bed.
For hours now we've stayed in bed and talked, I didn't own a TV so when Eloise found that out, we talked until I found out all kind of interesting things about her, which I wouldn't have found out if we simply watched TV together.
"Uh, I actually don't know." She mumbled, getting up from my hold around her. "I haven't looked at my phone all day, William must be wondering where I am..."
I watched her climb off the bed and walk over to where her clothes were, cleaned and dried, also next to her bag she had left in the car last night, I had only noticed when Lenard made me aware.
"Oh shit." She said quietly as she looked at her phone.
It was the first time I heard profanities come out of her mouth, and instead of being repulsed by the foul use of language, I found it incredibly alluring on Eloise.
"What is it?" I ask, moving from out the bed to grab a pair of trousers and put them on.
She looked worried, and from what I could see from the reflection in her eyes was that William had indeed tried to call, multiple times before he send her messages.
"Oh my god, um." Her panicked voice alarmed me as I came over to her, seeing her eyes filled with panic and worry. "He's got the police looking for me."
Of-course he has, I don't feel shocked at that information, given how lovely his daughter is and where she is at right now, in the monsters' grasp, quite literally in the face of danger.
Eloise is so innocent, if I were her father surely, I'd be also worried.
"I'm going to call him." She said, putting her phone to her ear.
I sighed, a part of me just wanting to smash the damned thing, knowing that William 's voice will be heard in mere seconds, and that Eloise will have to leave within minutes.
I hear William pick up as Eloise's eyes meet mine. "W-Willia-"
"Where the fucking hell are you?" His loud voice shrieked down the line, startling Eloise as she rubbed her forehead, distressed.
"Do you know how worried I have been?" He snapped out, not giving her a chance to speak. "Where have you been? Where are you? I'm coming to get you right now!"
I did not like the way he was talking to her; he had always had a way with words to piece me, but to see his anger turned to sweet Eloise left me protective of her for some odd reason.
"I-"
"I don't want to hear it, just tell me where you are!" He huffed out, as tears filled Eloise's eyes.
She looked to me for answers, but this was something I couldn't do for her, she was of age, and she knew that William had no claim on her whereabouts, given how- from what I've learned from our day together, how he's never been in her life.
"I'm at Rowan Grants." She said, swallowing deeply as her eyes swirled with uncertainty.
The line goes quiet before I hear a beep, making Eloise move her phone from her ear and look at the screen, seeing that I was right, he had hung up the phone on her.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that." She forced out, not looking at me.
Why was she so ashamed and embarrassed in front of me now? Things had been good before this call from William, who was no doubt defiantly on his way to my estate to try and berate the poor girl.
"Don't apologize." I go to her and put my hands in hers, making her look at me. "You have nothing to be sorry for, you're a grown woman, Eloise."
"Do you wish to stay the night?" I ask, without thinking.
What the hell was I thinking? I should just let her leave, the longer she stays here with me the more she's going to get attached... and Vise-versa.
"What do you mean?" She looked so sad, I just couldn't turn her away.
"I'll speak to William when he arrives, if you wish to stay here for the night, I'll let him know., you don't have to worry about a thing."
"Is it ok, if I stay?" She asks, her eyes full of doubt, making me bend down and press my lips against her forehead.
If I had my way, she'd stay more than a night, but given the circumstances of her leaving with William in his current tone, I wouldn't be able to relax if I left her in his care.
A knock at the door makes me alert. "Enter." I announce, not missing the awe in Eloise's eyes.
Lenard opens the door to my bedroom. "Sir we have police and William Ruthenvolt at the door."
Let the show begin. "I'll be down in a moment." I tell him as he nods his head and then leaves the room, closing the room behind him.
This day is turning out to be all kind of interesting thanks to a certain beautiful woman who simply fell into my gaze, I would be lying if I had said I wasn't having any sort of fun.
It's been a while since I've enjoyed making someone as mad as William is about to be, when he sees my face instead of his sweet, lovely and not so innocent daughters.
"Do you wish to come with me, or would you like to stay here and wait for me?" I ask her, as she thinks about it.
"I-I'll come, it's probably best... he must think you've held me captive." She said jokingly, with a sad smile.
I nod my head and open the door for her to leave the bedroom, then I lead her down the halls where my hearing picks up on William's voice the floor below us, by the front door, demanding he 'see his daughter at once'.
This is going to be amusing to say the least.
Once I reach the stairs, William's eyes instantly snap to me as I see the policemen around him, and the police vehicle outside, then his eyes shift from mine to Eloise's behind me as we both walk down the stairs.
"What on earth are you doing here girl!" He shouts out at Eloise, then turns his hateful eyes towards me.
"I warned you to stay away from her, but you just had to go around me you son of a bitch!"
"Sir, please calm down." A police officer said, making his scoff out loudly.
"I'll calm down when you arrest this man!"
"Arrest me for what, may I ask?" I say, reaching the bottom of the stairs where William and the officers stood.
William's face had gone red with rage as he stared at me. "For bloody well kidnapping, that's what!"
Kidnapping... that's certainly something new, although I had never once kid nor napped a single person, I might be Vampire, but I don't like to play with my food.
"Miss Anderby is here on her own volition, I am holding nobody prisoner." I tell the officers, as they nod their head, somewhat understanding now what is going on.
"You-" He steps forward until he's inches from my face. "I don't like you, I don't trust you, and if you think I'm going to allow you to see my daughter, you have another thing coming."
"William, stop it!" Eloise gets in-between us and puts her hands on William, pushing him back.
"You're taking it too far; Rowan has done nothing wrong and what you're doing is so messed up." She said, her voice trembling as all eyes goes towards her.
Something catches William's attention as he reaches out his hand and grabs Eloise's arm, before rolling up the sleeve of the shirt I gave her to wear, displaying the bruises around her wrist.
Eloise pulls her arm from Williams hold as her face brightens in embarrassment. "This isn't what it looks like, he didn't-"
"Arrest him, he's clearly been abusing my daughter!" He roars out, fouling at the mouth. "There's your bloody proof he's kept her here by force."
This is now getting a little bit annoying, to anyone's eyes the marks on Eloise could be seen as abuse, but it's simply out of context and given that this situation looks bad, I might end up in quite the predicament.
"Sir, can you explain those marks?" An officer asks me as I sigh out.
I really wanted to kill William for this, trying to frame me. "Yes, from me, but it's not what he's assuming, Eloise was free to leave whenever she wanted."
"You do understand how this looks, and right now it's not looking good for you." Another officer said to me.
"Arrest him this instant, do your bloody job!" William snarls out, crossing his arms.
"NO!" Eloise shouts out as the officers' step forward with handcuffs. "W-Wait, stop!"
"He's my b-boyfriend!" She abruptly announces, making the offices halt in their step. "I-I like it a little... you know, it wasn't Rowan's fault, this is just from... sex."
Eloise's face had become bright red once the officers' mouths gaped, before clearing their throat from the sudden twist of the situation, whilst William was shaking from rage at the new change of events.
"I don't believe this nonsense." He huffs out, glaring at me.
Boyfriend, huh?
I wasn't expecting that, but I don't hate it.
I look to Eloise, and she was so embarrassed from having to actually say what she said that she couldn't look at me, nor anyone in the eye as she covered her burning face with her hands.
"I admit I got a little rough, but it's nothing Eloise didn't allow me officers." I say to them, ignoring William's glare.
"As you can see there is nobody being held here against their will, my girlfriend is free to leave whenever she wants."
The offices sigh and put away their handcuffs, making William stare in complete hopelessness as I put my arm around Eloise's waist and bring her to my side, the corner of my mouth twitching, a smile threatening to emerge.
"Miss is this true?" They ask Eloise and she nods her head, her face still flushed red.
"I cannot believe this!" William says, out of reasons to have me arrested. "This is nonsense!"
"Sir your daughter is of age, and we cannot physically remove her from the premises unless there has been actual wrongdoing here, and from what I see this is all just harmless play, not an offense to arrest someone over." An officer says to William.
"Now if that's all, we have actual police work to do, all due respect, Prime Minister."
The officers left through the front door as they waited for William to leave with them, he stood there, his eyes solely on mine as he glared daggers at me, I could feel his rage for me, his hate, and in that moment, I could feel what he wanted to do.
He turned to Eloise and sighed out. "Will you be home tomorrow?" He asks her, his voice calmer now.
"I don't know... maybe." She quietly said, making William sigh out again.
"I am not mad at you dear, just your choice in men." He said, hinting to me. "I truly hope this doesn't affect our relationship, I just want to keep you safe, I hope you understand..."
"Well... I'll see you tomorrow, hopefully." He said, and with that he left through the front door.
I closed the door behind him and then turned around to look at Eloise, to see her completely shell shocked from what had just happened.
"Are you alright?" I had to ask, as she looked like she would cry at any moment.
"Y-Yeah." She wiped her eyes. "I'm so sorry, I almost got you arrested because of me." She sighed out, her voice wobbly.
I went over to her and wrapped my arms around her, bringing her into my chest, the warmth of her arms and the smell of her scent invading my very soul.
I hated how William talked to her, how he raised his voice at someone he had no right to, she was a beautiful person with a kind heart, and he took advantage of that and played her the victim.
Eloise wasn't a victim, she was a strong woman, with a bad start in life.
"Never apologize to me Eloise, I can't bear it anymore." I said, making her look up at me.
Boyfriend... I could be that for her, I already knew how I felt about her, she was becoming a precious flower, someone I longed to see when she wasn't with me, I have no doubt in my mind how I felt, even though it went against every bone in my body telling me not to feel this way.
"I care about you, deeply, if you want to stay with me, you can, I'm always going to be here if you need me."
"I'm a stranger, we still don't-"
"I know enough." I interrupted her. "And we're no longer strangers, it's like you said earlier."
"Although I may not be the best pick, I can be that for you, if it's what you want."
