The Duo stood side by side, their eyes focused on the building in front of them. For several weeks the two enhanced had been removed from training under Captain America's orders, the blonde leader claiming that the pair didn't need to train as much as the other due to their years with HYDRA. However, this left the girls bored and often lead to them training by themselves which scared any S.H.I.E.L.D Agents that would come across the scenes. Although they had now adopted a kinder nature towards the world everyone was still wary of two of the most dangerous woman in the world.

After having caught the blondes training together Steve decided it would be a good idea to give them some relaxation time and send them to a place where he knew training would be strictly forbidden. The Barton Household. Laura had instantly taken to the two young woman, ignoring all the horrible stories that surrounded them and taking them in as soon as they arrived on her doorstep. Clint also welcomed the girls with open arms, having created a bond with them after the whole Pietro incident in Sokovia, which he was still thankful for.

The three Barton children (well the two that understood what was going on) didn't take long to bond with the Duo either, becoming fast friends with them once they realised that they were normal teenage girls. Lila, the middle child and only girl, had attached herself to Crystal's hip. She loved the green eyed girls fashion sense and marvelled at the way she could do her hair in seconds. Miss Evans having wings was another bonus for the brunette female, she often watched the sixteen year old as she circled the sky above the farm, diving and tumbling through the air with grace.

Cooper, the oldest of the children, soon found himself following Ruby around wherever she went. He was infatuated with her within the first three days of her being in the house and would often leave what he was doing to sit with her when she came back into the house after helping Mr Barton with some outside chores. Nathaniel, the youngest little boy, found comfort and happiness in both teenagers arms. His giggles would echo around the house as Crystal held him and danced across the wooden floor while Ruby could put him to sleep or calm him down with a simple lullaby.

For five weeks the girls had been under the roof of Clint and Laura, and for once they were happy and relaxed every time they woke up. It was an odd feeling, not having to be alert and on guard every minuet of everyday, however they were getting used to it. With a sigh Crystal shifted her green eyes from the house before them and to her shorter yet older friend. Miss Evans had never seen her best friend so peaceful, it was a nice change. "You're staring at me."

"Sorry."

"It's fine." Ruby shrugged and turned to face the other blonde, a small smirk playing on her lips. "You've been doing it a lot lately, but it hasn't always been at me."

"What are you going on about?" Questioned the sixteen year old as the back door of the house opened. The family, along with Crystal and Ruby, were going to have a picnic in the garden. "I haven't been staring at people."

"So Pietro isn't interesting while he's training no?" Sarcasm was heavy in the blue eyed girls voice, her smirk widening as the younger stared with her mouth agape.

"I have no idea what you're talking about!"

"I'm sure Wanda wouldn't mind. You did bring him back to life after all." Before Crystal could resort the Barton family were in front of them, Lila gripping her hand while Cooper latched himself onto Ruby's arm.

"Let's have a picnic!" Laura announced, holding up the basket while Clint shifted Nathaniel in his arms. Instantly the elder Barton children sat where they stood, dragging the blonde down with a laugh. Everyone gathered around and began pulling things from the basket, 'ohh'ing and 'ahh'ing excitably over what treats Mrs Barton had made. Before long almost all the food had been devoured and the five young people all sat together in a circle, Nathaniel resting in between Crystal's legs with his head resting on her stomach.

From inside the sound of a phone cut through the air, causing Clint to get up and jog back to the house while Laura listening to Ruby tell her children about the kind of powers her and Crystal had. Mrs Barton didn't mind the Duo telling the kids stories, she had told them that when they had first arrived. There was one rule however, they couldn't mention any missions they had been on. Talk of murders and crimes were also forbidden and the teenagers understood completely. "Ruby! Crystal! Steve is on the phone for you!"

"I'll go." Ruby offered, stopping the green eyed girl from getting up and moving Nathaniel who had fallen to sleep on her. "Be back in a minuet." With that she hurried into the house, taking the phone from Clint with a small smile. He returned the gesture before leaving out the back door once more. "Hey Steve."

"Ruby, we need you and Crystal to come back in, we have a mission we need you both on."

"When do you want us back?"

"Tomorrow, as soon as you can."

"Got it." Miss Jackson said goodbye to her leader and replaced the phone on the hook before exiting the house. Once she made it to the group once more she turned to her partner in the field with a small smile before looking at the children sadly. "We're leaving tomorrow morning, we need to pack tonight."

"What?" Cooper asked, his eyes wide.

"Why?" Whined Lila.

"I'm sorry guys but we have to go back to work. It's important."

"But we'll come back okay?" Crystal added quickly. "We'll come back again as soon as we're finished."

"You're always welcome here girls."

"Thank you."

Welcome to my second book for Ruby and Crystal! I know this chapter isn't the best but they will get better I promise! This was just, I guess a filler to get us back into the lives of the girls and see what they are doing after Ultron.

This will lead into the story line of Captain America: Civil War very quickly so action is on its way already! Thank you for reading!
