twenty six ~ bubble.... bubble, bubble

Song:

Best Part by Daniel Caesar

twenty six ~ bubble.... bubble, bubble

Cedric had figured out the second task, all thanks to Elodie. The following day Cedric decided the first thing he would do was give Harry a hint of what to do, it being good sportsmanship since Harry told the Hufflepuff about the first task.

Afterwards Cedric instantly ran to his best friends room, frantically knocking until she answered with a sour expression on her face, he had woken her up from a nap. The boy was eager to tell the girl about what he had discovered and it had instantly woke her up, she was quick to shove the boy out of her dorm and get to work.

It was now the following day, Elodie was sat at the Gryffindor table, bags under her eyes as she scribbled in her notebook multiple ideas as to what Cedric could do. She had been up all night, studying everything she had learnt when an idea popped into her head, she was yet to look into spells she hadn't learnt yet so that's what she started on this morning.

"Elle you need to eat." Billie prompted the girl, holding out a red apple which the girl took from Billie's hand but didn't take a bite.

"Yeah, you really don't need to be doing this for me, I can work something out." Cedric stated, continuing on from Billie as they both shared their concern over the girl's lack of sleep and grumpiness.

"I want to." She told them both, not bothering to look up at them as she flipped through the pages of the thick textbook in front of her. "Gillyweed?" She mumbled, eyebrows knitting together as her teeth gnawed away at her lower lip. Elodie then shook her head, "but there is no definite answer with how long that lasts."

"She's talking to herself again." Finley said in fake fear as Cedric and Billie laughed.

"Good morning." Lee beamed, taking a seat next to Finley as he sent him a wink. "Is she okay?" He motioned to Elodie.

"Oh yeah this is a weekly occurrence usually." Billie confirmed as the other gryffindor nodded in understanding.

"Hey guys." Fred spoke and Elodie froze as she felt the bench dip slightly besides her. "Morning." George smugly spoke as Elodie glanced up at him from across the table, a knowing smile on his lips as she blushed, looking back down at the books in front of her. Fred watched in confusion as the tired girl scribbled away in her notebook, muttering things under her breath as she rested her messy hair in her hand.

Elodie huffed, closing the book and grabbing a different one. "Elle you need to eat something." Cedric spoke softly to the girl who was no longer holding the apple.

"I'm not hungry." She smiled at him briefly before diving her head back into her book, flipping through the pages of the advance charms book which Professor Flitwick gave her after choir practice.

Cedric sadly frowned, glancing at Fred who was already looking at him. The Hufflepuff motioned with his head to the tired girl and Fred nodded, putting his large hand on her thigh causing her to jump out of her trance. "Ellie?"

"Yes?" She said with wide eyes, them no longer on her books but now on him.

"Can you eat something please? You need it." He said softly, thumb running over her thigh which was distracting her mind immensely. She nodded, watching as he handed her a piece of his toast with honey on and taking it from his large hand, taking a small bite from it.

He smiled at this, watching as she ate the piece of toast before turning her head back into the books, Fred's attention then turned to Lee who was currently having an argument with Billie from across Finley.

"No you're wrong!" Lee exclaimed.

"I am not, there is nothing better than having a nice clean bath with nothing else in it." Billie stated as Lee shook his head aggressively.

"Nope, wrong!" He shouted before continuing in a normal voice, "bubbles are literally the best thing ever to have in the bath with you, other than another person." He finished it with a wink.

Elodie's head snapped up at the boy, startling everyone at the table at her sudden movement as she stared at the boy. "W-what did you just say?"

Lee looked at her in confusion, "Er... about having someone else in the bath with me?"

"No— ew what?"

"You know like...," his eyebrows wiggled suggestively as her nose turned up.

"God no! The bit before."

"Oh about having bubbles in my bath, yeah it's like the best thin—"

"Shh." Elodie shushed him, raising her finger up to the boy as everyone watched her shoulders sink down as her eyes stayed trained on an empty page of her notebook, "bubble.... bubble, bubble."

"She's officially gone crazy." Finley spoke.

"The bubblehead charm! God how can I have been so stupid!" The girl scolded herself, a wide grin on her face as she turned to the side to look at Cedric. "You need to learn the bubblehead charm."

"Okay..." he trailed out his words, watching as the girl turned to flip through her charms book. "But what is the bubblehead charm?"

"Ah-ha!" She spoke in excitement, pointing at the page of the book. "The bubblehead charm is used to allow a person to breathe underwater." She began to read from the book, "a large bubble would form around the head of a person giving them a continuous supply of oxygen wherever they may need it the most!" She squealed, feet tapping on the floor. "Ced you have to learn this spell!"

The Hufflepuff boy besides he grinned widely, pulling her into a large bear hug and squeezing her as she giggled into his shoulder before he pulled away, standing up as he took the book from the girl.

"Elodie Sinclair, you are officially my favourite person on this earth. I owe you." He pointed at her before running out of the hall.

She let out a happy sigh as everyone continued with their conversations before letting her head rest into her hands as it felt heavy. Her eyes began falling shut slowly and she groaned as Fred tapped her thigh repeatedly to keep her awake.

"What?" She grumpily said.

"Baby, you need to sleep."

"I'm trying." She mumbled.

"No, in a bed."

"I can't I have class." She huffed, blowing a piece of hair from her face before turning to face him tiredly.

"Skip with me." The brunette looked at him in confusion, not expecting them words to come from his mouth but she went to decline before he cut her off. "You won't get into trouble, Cmon just this once?"

She watched as he gave her the best puppy eyes he could give and she let out a giggle, "you look silly." He rolled his eyes, standing to his feet and holding out his hand to the girl who stared at it skeptically, her eyes move over to their friends who watch her with smirks yet the only person's smirk who was suggestively saying something else was George's as he wiggled his eyebrows at the girl. "Cmon." She mumbled, grabbing his hand along with her books in the other and saying a swift goodbye to her friends as Fred pulled her along.

Elodie couldn't help but giggle as he pulled her along, her little legs running as she struggled to stay at his pace. "Freddie slow down!"

"Okay." He stated, pulling to an abrupt stop and Elodie collided into his back letting out a huff. "Hop on." He squats down, signalling for her to jump on his back.

"I'm heavy." She mumbled and he shook his head.

"Get on Ellie." Fred spoke with a stern voice which made her eyes go wide as she jumped on his back, instantly obeying what he told her to do. "Good girl."

She bit down on her lip as she attempted to hold onto his shoulders along with her books as Fred began to walk up the moving stairs. His large hands were wrapped around her thighs in the space between her skirt and her knee socks which made goosebumps rise on her whole body, especially when he would squeeze down on her skin.

Elodie began softly singing as Fred walked, it was only quiet but as her head rested on his shoulder she found herself getting more into the song she wrote about him.

"You don't know, babe
When you hold me
And kiss me slowly
It's the sweetest thing"

Fred smiled, turning his head to glance down at her as they reached the Fat Lady painting, muttering the password before stepping in and carefully putting the girl down who had now stopped singing.

"Cmon babe." He smiled, grabbing her hand and pulling her up to his empty dorm room. "Ellie?" She hummed in response, lazily sitting on the end of his bed with half closed eyes. "Before we sleep I was wondering..." he walked over to the guitar in the corner of their room, holding it out to her as she tilted her head to the side in confusion. "Could you play me the song you were singing?"

She nervously bit down on her lower lip, shakily taking the guitar from his hand as he sat down on Lee's bed which was across from him. "Er, it's not that good..."

"That's a lie, your stuff is always good." He told her with a smile, "if you don't feel comfortable doing it then you don't have—"

"No, it's okay." She said softly before letting her fingers pluck away on the strings.

Fred sat watching her, eyes occasionally closed or down at the guitar as she changed keys, her voice was soft, not powerful like it was last time but he found it beautiful, he found her beautiful. The boy sat with a wide smile on his lips which lit up even more in awe as she looked at him, singing her final words before shakily putting the guitar down, resting it against his bedside table.

"I was off key at some points and—"

Fred cut her off, kneeling down in front of where she was sat and putting his hands on her thighs, "you sounded amazing, like usual." His comment made her blush, even more so than she was before as his fingers make patterns onto her thighs.

"Thank you." She spoke sweetly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear as he stood to his feet and walked to his wardrobe.

"Whoever you wrote that song for is very lucky." He told her, a part of him hoping it was about him. She looked up at him from her hands, his back to her as he searched for some clothes as she sighed, her brain begging to tell him it was about him."You can wear this if you want." He handed her an oversized T-shirt, one that would probably fall to her knees and she excitedly stood up to take the piece of fabric from him. "Do you want any pants?"

She shook her head. "They just fall down."

He nodded, grabbing himself a pair of joggers before walking over to the bathroom. "You can change in here if you want, I'll be back once I'm dressed." She smiled at him, waiting until he closed the door to get dressed.

Fred shook his head, leaning on the counter as he looked up at his flushed reflection in the mirror in front of him. "Get it together Fred," he whispered to himself, "she's just a girl."

He quickly pulled off his uniform and dressed in his joggers, leaving his chest bare before exiting the bathroom to see Elodie who stared at him with wide eyes as his mouth dropped in shock. There, Elodie stood in her baby blue lace underwear with her white school shirt unbuttoned and her hair messy from being pulled from her bun.

"Fred!" She squealed, turning on her heel to face the wooden wardrobe in front of her as she reddened in her face. Her hands instantly went to the end of her shirt, prying it down as much as possible to cover her bum.

Fred swallowed quickly and turned around to face the closed bathroom door, his hands instantly covering his crotch. "I-Uh-I'm so sorry."

"Er it's okay." Elodie managed to squeak out, "have you turned around?"

"Uh yeah, you can get changed now." He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, eyes wandering over the lines in the door.

The girl was quick to change into the T-shirt, it falling to just about her knees before turning back around to let out an awkward cough. "You can turn around now."

"Right, okay." He nodded, turning around to view the small girl who wiggled her toes which she currently had her eyes on, her hands clenching onto the sleeves of the striped shirt she wore. "You look cute."

"Hmm?" She hummed, looking up at him through her lashes as he walked over to her.

His fingers tucked her hair behind her small ears, holding his hand in her hair as she snuggled into his thumb which rested on her jaw. "I should let you wear my clothes more often."

"They're comfy."

Fred chuckled, licking his lips which she couldn't help but focus on just as the door swung open, the pair springing apart. "Why do I keep walking in on you two getting it on?" George chuckled, heading for the set of drawers besides his bed.

"We weren't getting it on!" The pair said in unison, Fred rolling his eyes as Elodie ran her hands through her hair.

George hummed to himself in amusement, fiddling around the many pieces of parchment and other things in his drawer before exclaiming loudly, "ah-ha!" He held his wand in his hand, finally retrieving what he needed before a smirk came onto his lips, grabbing a small gold wrapped thing before throwing it directly at Fred. "Thought you might need that. Be safe kids!"

After George left with a slam of the door, Elodie looked down onto the floor at the gold wrapper, furrowing her eyebrows as she squatted down to look at what it was. "What on earth did he throw at you?"

"Er— Ellie that's—"

"Oh my god." She squealed, chucking the wrapper onto Lee's bed before wiping her hand on the top she was wearing like she had touched something dirty.

"A condom." Fred finished with an amused smirk, looking at the girl whose face was going bright red in embarrassment. "Do you wanna get into bed?"

"Fred!" She exclaimed, lightly slapping him on his chest as he began laughing.

"Woah Ellie I didn't mean like that, I meant cos you were tired."

Her eyes widened, hands covering her face as she looked down. "God that's embarrassing."

"I mean unless you want—"

"I will hit you again." She said sternly with a smile pulling onto her face which made him laugh some more. She rolled her eyes at his laughter, pulling the duvet back to sit on one side of his single bed before looking up at him. "Are you getting in?"

"Oh you want to share?" He asked, Fred didn't expect her to be comfortable with them sharing a bed so he thought he'd just sleep in George's.

She bit her lip, pulling the sleeves back over her hands. "I- you mentioned a while back about a cuddle day and I'd like too... if you do."

He couldn't help the smile which grew onto his face, he felt like a little schoolboy in love with the popular girl and she had just noticed him, he felt like he was flying, he felt happy.

"I'd love to." He spoke truthfully, sitting on the other side of the bed before shuffling down and stretching his legs out.

He put his left arm out, waiting for her to lay down but she just sat staring at him, "c'mere." He mumbled, grabbing her wrist and gently pulling her down so that she was laying on her side, her hand went to his chest as he let go and she was holding herself up, unsure of what she was allowed to do so he spoke up. "Just do what you feel comfortable with okay baby?"

She nodded, lowering down and putting her head into his upper chest, her hand staying on the other side near his collarbone. Fred pulled the duvet over the pair of them, his hand under her neck touching her back as the fingers of his free hand ran over her arm.

"This is nice." She whispered, eyes fluttered close as he looked down at her.

Fred couldn't see her pretty blue eyes but he could see her long lashes which laid on her rosey cheeks, he found himself looking at each freckle which covered her nose and cheeks, a small smile on his face as he took in her beauty.

"Stop staring at me you weirdo." Elodie mumbled as he let out a laugh, his heart rate quickening under her which made her smile.

"I can't help but stare at beautiful things."

"So I'm a thing now?" She said in amusement, eyes still closed.

"Just shut up and go to sleep." He chuckled, shuffling around slightly until he began comfortable.

It was silent for a moment until Elodie spoke up once more, "goodnight Freddie."

"Goodnight princess."
